Johan is well on his way to becoming the greatest pitcher in Minnesota Twins history. Nobody else has won to Cys, and his have been pretty convincing. I think we just need to keep that TC on his cap and that left arm attached and he should be set to go. Maybe someday he'll be right behind Walter Johnson as the greatest pitchers in organization history. I feel so spoiled to get to cheer for and see Johan pitch... When do pitchers and cachers report?

Congrats! While this should be his 3rd straight award, 2 in 3 years aint half bad. He continues to throw heat and that nauseating off-speed stuff. Indeed a pleasure to see (in the Central, mind you, only 6 times a year plus playoffs).

Oh, how I love having Cy Young-winning POTUSOBG on our team. And he's such a quality human being, in addition to a damn incredible pitcher.

Eric & hrunting--I swear those people, like the sports media everywhere, have the attention span of a gnat and only a few of them think beyond what's happened in the last week, and the latest flash-in-the-pan. Right now they're all looking at how they voted last year and saying, "Hey...Johan Santana was awesome last year too? Wow! Where the heck were we on that?" Ninnies.

I, too, would weep large tears of sorrow if Santana were ever to wear a Yankees uniform. See, now I'm going to have nightmares about it.

I think his attitude is what makes him so great. He has a kind of confidence that is unshakeable, in fact so much so that he doesn't have to throw it in anyone's face by being arrogant. He is so incredibly sure of himself. When he pitches a less than perfect game, he acknowledges that it wasn't his best and says he will do better. When he pitches brilliantly, he says he felt strong and in control of his stuff, and that the team made some great plays behind him that helped him feel comfortable at the plate. He never gets down on himself or blames anyone else after a loss, yet he never fails to give credit to the team after a win. I think he's the Dalai Lama of baseball. Today in the Strib he said, "There's not a better feeling in the world than to make people happy." See what I mean? And remember the flowers and balloons under his hat bill? "Because that's what life is all about, happiness and flowers." Sigh...I love him.
