Well, Cuddles was married last weekend. You can visit his Knot.com page here. Looks like Big Crawdaddy was a groomsman. You can also peruse their registry. Team Batgirl, whose invitations must have gotten lost in the mail, got them a lovely batter ladle--because Cuddy is such a good batter, natch.
Posted by Batgirl at November 15, 2006 09:03 PMCongrats to Cuddy and his bride!
This an article praising Santana except he has no idea what his stats were and did absolutely no research or fact finding when he did the article. I could not believe it when I read according to the article that:
1. Santana had one less win then last year
2. This is Santana's second CONSECUTIVE Cy Young
I was astounded when I read it. Click on my name to read it.
Posted by: Nora at November 15, 2006 10:46 PMCongrats Cuddy... and I'm starting a Bring back Matty! campaign. Only if Buchanan falls in love w/Japan... or we go to the N.L.
Posted by: ramon marcos at November 15, 2006 10:58 PMCongrats to Gardy, who was a closer 2nd in the Mgr of the year award to Leyland (-25) than Willie Randolph was to Girardi (-30).
Posted by: TD at November 15, 2006 11:47 PMI think the reason I like Michael so much is he seems like such a regular guy. My wedding webpage looked almost identical.
Congrats, Cuddy.
Posted by: Neil at November 16, 2006 12:24 AMThe items they have on their registry are pretty reasonable. Should we all help them complete their wishlists? :)
Posted by: Shaun at November 16, 2006 01:24 AMAh, Leroy was one of the groomsman. I hope he found Jamaica easier than his throws find 2nd base.
Posted by: pullingablyleven at November 16, 2006 06:52 AMI think it's a tragedy that no one bought them the poultry shears. or the papier mache books. what kind of friends do they have, anyway? sheesh!
Posted by: kafumbly at November 16, 2006 06:52 AMI wonder though, Kaf, if they received ice cream cone cupcake tins?
And his dad was his best man. That's really sweet.
Posted by: aurora at November 16, 2006 07:24 AMCongratulations to Cuddy and his wife.
*sigh* I miss Big LeRoy...
Posted by: Rach at November 16, 2006 07:28 AMSpeaking of Cuddyer, read this article:

Aw, shucks, what a guy. Sounds like he found a great girl, too.
Posted by: sacky at November 16, 2006 07:45 AMI'm glad I didn't get invited. The words 'elegantly casual' confuse me. Congrats to Cuddles and his new wifey-poo.
Posted by: Beth at November 16, 2006 07:45 AMWHATEVER.
Posted by: LaurieNY at November 16, 2006 07:50 AMAlas, my invitation got lost in the mail as well.
I love that his Dad was his best man.
I would send best wishes to the happy couple here, but I have a feeling they are too busy to read even Bat Girl right now. Aw, what a smile.
Hey, Nora. I'm confused... I read the article about El Presidente, and I see nothing in there that says anything about Santana winning consecutive Cy Youngs (it says he's the "two-time champion", but that doesn't imply they were in a row) or about how many games he won this year versus last. Did I miss something?
And second, anyone who wants Matty back is...well...just plain nuts. He seems a good guy and all, but why in the world would we want a guy who, when perfectly healthy, runs worse than Frank Thomas, and can only hit lefties? He played about 4 games for the Nats this past season, and the Nats were a terrible team - that tells you all you need to know. Give me Rondell, Tyner, Kubel...any of those guys over Matty. (Sorry, big fella.)

Oh, dear Gwynn, I nearly peed my pants reading that. That was great.
My condolences on the loss of your boyfriend/husband, Laurie.
I love the fact that Matty Go Boom was a groomsman. I am having a tough time picturing him in a tux, though.
Damn, those poultry shears are nice. ;)
Posted by: FH at November 16, 2006 08:40 AMIt's never easy watching your husband marry another woman. :-(
Thank you, FH.
Posted by: LaurieNY at November 16, 2006 08:45 AMClosest thing I saw in the Santana article was something like "best in the league two years in a row" *implying* he won the Cy last year. As written, though, I think we would all agree (ie last year he was robbed!!).
Congrats DJ Cudds!!
Posted by: rotrhed at November 16, 2006 08:59 AMYeah, I've never been to a wedding before where the father was the best man. My sisters and I were at one of the other all-inclusives in Ochos Rios about 1 1/2 years ago and it's a beautiful place to get married. We liked our place better because it was all adults whereas Beaches accepts kids and has a lot of kid related activities. (I know, children have their place...but it was nice not to have them running around everywhere when you're at a sophisticated resort...)
Congrats to Michael and his new bride!
Posted by: Sarah at November 16, 2006 08:59 AMaurora, they did NOT receive the ice cream cone cupcake tin! unbelievable.
Posted by: kafumbly at November 16, 2006 10:01 AMwow, she not only looks like a regular-type female person, she selected some nice kitchen items -- it's always good when someone who can afford the bigger stuff doesn't ask their family to buy it for them ...
but no one could be bothered to toss the cheap-as-dirt bamboo skewers onto their gift order?? really? it's not like they asked for the pineapple-topped stainless steel with chrome-plated zinc handles skewers, after all.
Posted by: msb at November 16, 2006 10:17 AMIf she could just move a little out of the way in that picture...
Posted by: ForMorneau at November 16, 2006 11:25 AMAdidasman, I read the article also, and am in 100% agreement with your observations.I do think that Johan is generally considered the game's best pitcher over thelast 3 years, and is one short on Cys he deserved.
Posted by: al at November 16, 2006 11:27 AMLaurie, my thoughts are with you.
Kaf, that's atrocious! This must be remedied.
Posted by: aurora at November 16, 2006 12:14 PMHmmmm...and there I was, thinking that I could have done with a wee bit more of her and a bit less of him. I suppose it's a matter of perspective, eh? Cuddy does look quite happy, so that's wonderful - heartiest of congratulations to them. And yes, it's nice that she looks like an actual person, unlike many of the Tara Reid types that ballplayers seem to end up with. (Remember Chuck Finley and Tawny "Whitesnake" Kitaen?) I'm just shocked that there's isn't a DH and/or a starting pitcher on that gift registry; come on, Michael, where's your focus? Maybe Carl would have splurged and given you Ryan Howard or something; you never know unless you ask.
Posted by: adidasman at November 16, 2006 01:12 PMFor Morneau, I just peed myself.
Posted by: Stacie at November 16, 2006 01:15 PMAdidasman, they must have fixed the article because they were there last night.
Posted by: Nora at November 16, 2006 01:19 PMJust reread the article and somebody certainly did catch the big errors in the article and fixed them. Oh well.
Posted by: Nora at November 16, 2006 01:24 PMThank you, Aurora. For some reason I cannot even begin to fathom, he preferred to marry someone he actually knows and loves, and I have no choice but to respect his misguided decision.
One does what one must do to carry on...
Posted by: LaurieNY at November 16, 2006 03:36 PMLaurie, if it's any condolance to you, you'll find a new boyfriend soon, I'm sure of it. Just look at all the adorable MLB players out there! And a majority of them are Twins! Of course, I do understand that no one could ever truly replace DJ Cuddles in your heart.
Posted by: TwinsPrincess at November 16, 2006 07:04 PMI have boyfriends aplenty! But only one (well, only one *Twin* heh) ever made an honest woman of me. :-(
I'm sure their children will be lovely. And I promise not to be a wicked stepmother. hahaha
Posted by: LaurieNY at November 16, 2006 07:37 PMYea for Cuddy! The gift registry-I've been wondering about that lately (weird, I know). How does a pro baseball players who makes millions do a wedding registry? Do you think they registered at Target? I'm going to go check.
Posted by: Erin at November 16, 2006 07:49 PMI see Cuddy went 0-3 against the Yankees the day after getting engaged. That proves something, I'm sure. Not sure what, but something.
Posted by: ss at November 17, 2006 01:47 PMA Google search turned up these pictures.

...Yes, I am a stalker.
Posted by: pro at November 17, 2006 07:59 PMThat is pretty stalker-y. But it's pretty great. My boyfriend was there! And my dad's non sexual man crush! That's so nice. I love those guys.
Posted by: Erin at November 17, 2006 10:00 PMCould someone please help a playa out? I couldn't get the link to work or find the pictures. I'm assuming they are of the Cuddyer wedding?
Posted by: Bring Back Reboulet at November 17, 2006 11:49 PMPro - Thanks for the link! Some great photos there and it looked like a good time. I should of gone. Little Nicky and Redman seemed to be enjoying it. I didn't see any other players. Other than Mathew of course. Love that new hair dew!
