Chairman Mauer will be on ESPN's SportsNation chat this afternoon at 1:30 CST. Something to pass the time while we wait for Johan's Cy Young.
Posted by Batgirl at November 15, 2006 09:35 AMBat Girl,
I was rockin my "Nathan Saves" shirt last night at the season ticket holder open house at the Dome and had a least a half a dozen people ask me where I got it. I steared them all to bat-girl.com because even though I am a dog person, Bat Kitty needs to eat too.
In unrelated news, I just saw on FoxSports.com that Terry Tiffee signed a minor league contract with the Orioles.
So long, Tiff. I, for one, will miss you.

Posted by: k-bro at November 15, 2006 11:08 AMSo long, Tiffles. Good luck in the Baltimore organization.
Why didn't I know of this open house? Bugger. Way to sport the Batgirl wares, though - I love it when people stop and ask about it. However, it's even better when someone recognizes it. Viva Batlings.
Posted by: FH at November 15, 2006 11:54 AMWell, that was short but fun.
He said he was running off to do a commercial. No doubt a Grip-n-Go?
Posted by: Eric at November 15, 2006 02:16 PMThat makes me wonder what kind of milk jug/container will be blinking in the Dome next season. Lol.
Posted by: Megan at November 15, 2006 02:20 PMThat was kind of lame... I mean, Justin AND his Grandpa's can't both be his No. 1 Fan, can they? I guess they can...if Justin's his Grandpa...
Maybe we did learn something after all...

Posted by: YankeeFan at November 15, 2006 02:23 PMis the batstore still down? i was looking forward to surprising my twins loving family with some batwares for christmas....
Posted by: beth at November 15, 2006 02:52 PMI love how he added an advertisement for the quick swing. I love Joe.
Today during school we were reading an article about a congressman, and he was referred to as "chairman." In the margin, I wrote, "Mauer!" Can you tell I had trouble focusing today?
Posted by: melissa at November 15, 2006 03:15 PMGoodbye Tiff, though I do have to wonder about Fox Sports' legitimacy... Follow the link on my name, and under "Marked-up Merchandise" they list Radke as someone who should play a role next year for a team.
"Brad Radke, SP: The man has won 148 games in 11 seasons. Only once has he failed to start at least 28 games. He made $9 million last season and we figure he will be worth even more in the current marketplace. Reliability isn't cheap."
Fox Sports isn't aware of the facts it seems. Brad seems pretty intent on retiring and spending more time with his family he would need surgery to even think about coming back. Obviously they did not do any research to find out this though. LOL
Posted by: Nora at November 15, 2006 04:17 PMI'm hoping Joe's commercial is for Sports Center. Those are the best.
First David Ortiz, and now Tiffee; is, to the madness, there no end? Will he make them forget Brooks, or just remember him hazily?
Posted by: al at November 15, 2006 04:37 PMI know it's early but I am excited because I just purchased my 20 game "All Star" plan last night for next year. I am in row 3 in sec 100. Since they don't seat anyone in row 1 and 2 in that section, I am technically in the first row down there. I am going to be in prime seating for showing signs. I am going to need plenty of ideas for signs.
Posted by: bc twins fan at November 15, 2006 04:59 PMAnybody get the whole video of the Chairman's interview?
Posted by: Shelley at November 15, 2006 06:40 PMI got the Gold Glove package. Anyone else up in 224?
Posted by: Jaguar at November 15, 2006 07:35 PMYeah Al, plus I think Luis Rivas still could join Ortiz and Tiffee as bad Twins releases :)
I saw Tiffee get his first MLB hit (not sure if that will ever be worth anything). He was hitting pretty well there in late 2004 but he never could hit like that again with the Twins.
Anyway, good luck Tiffee!
In more fun news, looks the the Twins won't sign Frank Thomas again as he is close to signing with Toronto (talk is multiyear, $20-$30 million):

Posted by: Shaun at November 16, 2006 01:17 AMDear Batgirl
I thought Chien-Ming Wang was going to win the Cy Young this year ?
p.e.m.
Posted by: public enemy mike at November 16, 2006 02:33 AMJust thought I'd share this quote from Torii Hunter about Frank Thomas:
"It's scary. That's why they call him Big Hurt. He'll hurt you. And he's big, too."
It's okay, Torii. He isn't in your division, you only have to see him six times.
Posted by: PsyMar at November 16, 2006 03:13 AMre: Wang
Yeah, 'cause Johan did nothing to curb the nat'l defecit. Possibly the best C.Y. speculation article ever.
Oh, hell! that's today, isn't it? Wheeeeee!!!
