More Korean Cartoons!

Choi Hoon's 2006 cartoons are up. Below is one dedicated to Johan Santana. Batgirl's Korean is a little rusty, but I think it says that he's awesome.

There is also an ALDS one. Below is the Twins portion. It's far less painful in Korean.

And be sure to check out the AJ one which doesn't really need any translation.

Doesn't do justice to Santana's choice ass.

Posted by: C-Pipe at November 13, 2006 06:51 PM

I don't think that's Santana cavorting around butt naked -- given the star on the dude's hat, I'm guessing it's some emperor-without-clothes that the Astros decided to put their weight behind while letting Johan go in the Rule 5 draft.

Posted by: Nate Patrin at November 13, 2006 07:40 PM

I think naked butt is Tony Batista.

Shouldn't we suspect the obvious? NBP?

*dies laughing*

OMG that is so hilarious and while I have NO idea what it says, the facial expressions he gives El Presidente are MARVELOUS!

Posted by: CapitalBabs at November 13, 2006 10:28 PM

Hey, We learn how to say, "Sit down, Bitch!" in Korean. Nifty! :)

Posted by: Piranhtachew at November 13, 2006 11:29 PM

Coolest thing I've seen all week, and I can't understand a damn word. Do you think if we asked Choi Hoon really nicely he might put Santana's bare butt in next year? That would be AWESOME.

I love the one that I'm assuming involves placido polanco with the head warmer on his head. Have No idea what they're saying though.

The AJ one was great, very bizarre, but great

I found an article about Pat Neshek on the Timberwolves website about his visit to NBA city and a game. Some interesting tidbits about the baseball season etc. Very interesing read. Click on my name to read it.

For such a simple drawing, that does look a lot like A.J. The resemblance is stunning, seriously!

I was in the middle of an Army tour in Korea during the WBC. Those folks were fanatical about the Korean team. Johan was the only "yong nom" (Western chump) they feared facing.

Pirantachew - the word you're looking for is "michenya" (pronounced "mee-chen-yah").

I lurve these cartoons. So much.

The first two frames of this one are great, too. Click mah name, kids.

Thanks, Mr. Wayne!

WARNING: The Yankees part on the ALDS comic is disturbing. :O NOT safe for Batkittens, BatKids, or LNP!

The Diamondbacks' Brandon Webb was just named the NL Cy Young winner. Just want to brag on that a little, as he is a native of Ashland, Kentucky and went to college at (and, of course, pitched for) the U of Kentucky, my employer.

Now we wait for the other Cy Young "shoe" to drop....

Posted by: PatGLex at November 14, 2006 02:26 PM

hee!! that just goes to prove that I had BOTH leagues Cy Young winners on my fantasy baseball team.

hmmm.... I think that means we should have done better.

"The start of the baseball season may seem far away, but the Twins brought it a little closer Tuesday by announcing the dates of the event that unofficially marks the end of the offseason." You know it, TwinsFest! :)

If your Work permitts you check this out at 1:30 central tomorrow. http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=13661

oh man... johan is 'an absolute ace' and probably a fighter pilot as well.

Posted by: rolandsmokum at November 14, 2006 11:38 PM

Go Santana smoothly!

Posted by: Jeb at November 15, 2006 07:50 AM

We need a translator, ASAP!

Posted by: Ryan at November 15, 2006 10:22 AM

I love these.

I love them even *more* without the translation, I think.

But I really fucking love these.

Twinsfest isn't the end of the offseason, it is just another fun event to pass the time.

There is instead a glorious, beautiful day in ferruary. A day when through the harsh cold of a long winter that has seen more players go to the Yankees a warmth breaks through and cuts the air like a sowrd of light piercing the heart of a demon.

It is a day whispered upon the wind and those that know how to listen can hear it rising in slow steady crescendo.

Pitchers and Catchers, report...

Posted by: AdamOnFirst at November 15, 2006 03:12 PM

CUUUTE! El Presidente looks so adorable with the aviator glasses and the neckerchief.

Posted by: TwinsPrincess at November 15, 2006 08:18 PM

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY can't we get translations of these!? I'll pay if I have to....

Here's another one, with Liriano, Santana, Mauer, and in a flashback bonus, NBP!

I really want to know what Tim Hudson is saying on the toilet in that last one.

Why don't we have any American artists who do cool things like this about baseball? The comic is highly underrated as a medium.

Posted by: Andre at November 16, 2006 03:13 PM

Ummm, in the ALDS one, did someone just guess in putting the American names on the first panal? Because on the second panal, their names are on the back of their jerseys: Radke, Silva, Bonser, Baker, Garza. Can't make out the jersey number of the guy in the top right, but from the wad in his mouth, it's got to be the spirit of Kirby.
