Well, hearty congratulations, Andrew - I thought I could give you a run for your money, but, sadly, you were just too Mauerish for me (and way better looking to boot). I cling to the knowledge that second place isn't so bad, considering the fierce level of competition. (For what it's worth, though, I've had sideburns since '89; Andrew was probably the star of his third grade soccer team right around then. Maybe I qualify for a Lifetime Achievement Award or something?)

I second Adidasman, congratulations Andrew. I wish I could have seconded him in the contest too, but it was a fierce competition and my hat is off to both of you. As I mentioned to Batgirl when I entered there is just a dearth of sideburn related contests out there, so big thanks to her for allowing us to show off. It was fun. As another out of town Twins fan, I have to say I'm glad that Batgirl is going to be joining our ranks, if only so she can eloquently address what it's like listening to certain other teams' announcers. You really can't understand it until you have to listen to the Hawk and DJ for 3 straight games (and we have 3 series left with the Bitch Sox). That being said, at least we're done playing the Angels. Rex Hudler is AWFUL.

Absolutely, positively agree about Rex Hudler. I shudder whenever the Twins play the Angels. In fact, there is no tandem in baseball that comes even CLOSE to matching Dick and Bert. Although the Seattle guys don't seem that bad, and the Tigers guys have a lot of heart.

Of course, as bad as Hudler is, nothing compares to the crapiness of listening to Hawk Harrelson shouting "You can put it on the board.....YES!" or "he gone." White Sox Suck.

We learned of Andrew's victory while sitting at Kauffman stadium Friday night - the man sitting next to us did not seem to share our excitement over our brother winning the JMSC. Oh well! Gee, thanks, Tamile - THAT'S what I needed to hear. The sad part is that I realized later that it was around '86 or '87 when I started wearing sideburns again - so Andrew wasn't even born yet, I suppose. Maybe next time we can compete in age divisions...how can I be expected to match up against someone half my age? *wheeze, wheeze*
