Happy Thanksgiving, One and All

Jeb has gone out and slaughtered BG a delicious tofurky with his bare man-hands, and BG is quite excited. Meanwhile, she wants to take this opportunity to give thanks for Jeb and Goober and Sooz and BatMom and Dad and the Batkittes 3, and also Joe Mauer and Johan Santana. And if any power hitting right hannders should come our way in the next few months, Batgirl would like to give thanks, in advance. Lots of thanks.

Batgirl is on my list of those I'm thankful for. But I'll join her in the thanks-in-advance for that right handed power hitter.

I, too, am thankful for Batgirl and all the Batlings. I truly enjoy visiting this site, and I will continue to do so as long as you'll have me.

Sincerely,
k-bro

P.S. I just read that Brent Abernathy signed a minor league contract with the Brewers. Too bad; I liked him.

Thank you, Batgirl, for all the enjoyment you give all of us. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I'd like to give thanks for the Marlins' fire sale, which will hopefully include the moving of one Dontrelle Willis to a team that would most welcome his addition...

I'd like to add my thanks to Batgirl and all the others here who make coming here so thought provoking and entertaining. Well, entertaining anyway :)

Oh, and my "thanks in advance" also go out to the Marlins... but in this case it's for their inevitable (hopefully) move to Las Vegas. Better them than us, eh?

I'm thankful for not having Troy Glaus as a Twin =)
And for my family - friends - and batgirl and all the batlings who make me giggle and from time to time make me go 'huh?'
Ohh and Lego Vision -

Happy Turkey Day all =)

That tofurkey looks mean.

I'm thankful that the Minnesota Twins are still around. I'm thankful that Minnesotans realized that baseball should never try to contract them

I'm thankful that it looks like Hunter won't be wearing Yankee pinstripes. I'm thankful Radke signed that 2 year, below market deal and I get to see him play as a Twin for one more year. I'm thankful that I can fly back home in June for the Twins v Dodgers series and not have to worry about a rainout b/c the Twins still play @ the Dome.

I'm thankful for this website where I get to read and occasionally comment on my favorite team in all of sports. And thanks for WW who always has a comment that is entertaining to read.

Thanks in advance to the guy who is going to stand at the plate next year and know plate discipline and hitting the other way and how to drive home a run with runners on 2B or 3B. Whoever you may be.

Happy Turkey Day everyone (except for the turkeys, sorry guys but you're just too yummy)

Many thanks to Batgirl for providing a home away from home...in web form.

I'm also thankful for Jack Morris, Kirby Puckett, a long fly ball, two tickets in left field in 1991, and the everlasting hope that it all happens again.

Posted by: Dr. Trivicon at November 23, 2005 11:09 AM

Hmmm....what should I be thankful for? What could a south side Chicago baseball fan be thankful for?

No clue. Need ideas.

Happy Thanksgiving, folks. Stay safe, drive safe.

I for one am that Bret Boone is gone, as well as all that hilarity Bat-Girl has given me this past year.

I'm mostly thankful for my family, my friends, my health, my stupid luck (because even when it's lousy, it's better than what some people get on their best days).

I'm thankful that one day I read this article:
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=ursu/050713
which led me to have you lot for whom to be thankful.

Lately, I'm VERY thankful for Omar Minaya ;-)

I'm thankful for Batgirl and Team Batgirl, Twins baseball, Doc's curls, Johan K. Santana, and of course I'm thankful for all the batlings and the wonderful workday distraction they provide for me!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I am thankful that we have a baseball team that always tries hard. I'm thankful they draft wonderful new players who are also hometown fans. I'm thankful that my parents let me stay up to watch every game in 1991 because they knew how crushed I was when I had to go to bed early in 1987. I am thankful that I grew up in a house where you rooted for teams like the Twins, and were so proud because they were good guys. I am thankful for Batgirl having this wonderful site where we can post wonderful things. I'm thankful I have a beautiful, tolerant new wife who, when discussing the possibility of moving away from Texas to the Twin Cities, does not roll her eyes when I mention the Twins as one of the "pros." In fact, she even gets excited herself, even if it is just excited for me and the prospect of having my very first Twins season tickets. That alone, my friends, is a lot to be thankful for.

I'm thankful that I don't have to do any cooking tomorrow and that the red sox didn't win the world series this year, and that Batgirl made me a Jeter NSMC t-shirt. I would be even more thankful if the Yankees could find someone to play centerfield and 6 or more starting pitchers

Happy Tofu/Turkey Day Everyone

I am now also thankful for knowing that I'm not the only person who tries (occasionally) to convince his better half to move to the TC and uses the Twins as one of the reasons.

I am also thankful that my better half allows me to see the Twins as much as I want when they are visiting NOCAL. Whether it be a 3 game set in Oakland or a 3 game set in SF plus 4 games in Oakland.

Finally I'm thankful she lets me fly home once a year under the excuse we deserve a vacation but spend most of our time at Twins games.

After all of that I would be remiss if I didn't say I'm thankful for my better half.

I am thankful to BatGirl and this fantastic web site and others who frequent it.

I am also thankful for MLB Extra Innings so I can watch Twins games most days (even if that means having to listen to bad homer announcers like the Hawk and Jerry Remy). I am very thankful that I get to hear Dick n Bert most games (and would be extremely thankful to the Baseball Writers if they finally elect Bert to the HOF this January). (BatGirl--you could liven up the off-season by talking about Bert's chances to the HOF),

Good luck to Brett Abernathy with his new career as a Milwaukee Brewer...

I'm thankful to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum for recognizing Johan Santana as the Satchel Paige award winner for best AL pitcher. That's almost cooler than the Cy Young.

Jeff... Sounds like you can be "thankful" for today's trade for Thome in return for Rowand, assuming you think that's a good thing.

Posted by: JimCrikket at November 23, 2005 03:35 PM

I'm thankful for BG and the batlings.
I'm NOT thankful for Jim Thome with the Chicago White Sox.

Posted by: T-Mac at November 23, 2005 03:36 PM

Here is the link to the Thome deal

Posted by: mike at November 23, 2005 03:39 PM

Dear Batgirl

If the Thome deal goes through and he becomes the new Bitch Sox DH, will he be renamed Darth Thome ?

mike

Posted by: mike at November 23, 2005 03:47 PM

I am not thankful for the Thome deal either - my sister will be devastated - its not good -NOT good at all!

Say it aint so Jimmy - sigh...........

So what happens to Paulie?????

Much Love
WW

Posted by: Wonder Woman at November 23, 2005 03:48 PM

Could they afford Paulie and big Jim???

Maybe this means the end of the Sox playing Twins ball and the return to the softball league. Cool part kegs at every base... cooler part the Twins win the division again.

one can hope can't they?

Posted by: caluofmn1991 at November 23, 2005 09:24 PM

I'm thankful that i didn't read the Thome thing until now, or I would never have gotten to my Thanksgiving feast preparation this evening at all.

Happy Thanksgiving to Batgirl, the BatFamily and all my fellow Batlings.

May you all have a wonderful day.

And if you get the wishbone, be sure to make your wish something on the order of "I wish for the Twins to beat the White Sox in 2006, and win the division championship away from them despite the fact that Jim Thome plays for them and has shattered bubblemint's dream of watching him hit homeruns off the Kirby Puckett banner FOR the Twins instead of against them."

And after making that wish, when you pull on the wishbone, be sure that you WIN!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, BATLINGS! (And the BatFamily, of course!)

Posted by: Stacy at November 23, 2005 11:12 PM

I'm thankful for Neil, for the heads up about the Satchel Paige award, and for the Negro Leagues Museum, for being so much wiser than the folk who vote on the Cy Young.

Yea Johan!

And thanks always for Batgirl and the Batlings.
