With all due respect to Dr. Morneau and his boom boom stick, which Batgirl would like to see quite a bit more of, that (hot hot and long overdue) three run dinger was just icing a very delicious cake put together by the offensive stylings of Chairman Mauer. Mauer went 3-4 with 2 RBI, hitting in the first run of the game in the 1st, then the go ahead run in the 6th, and that makes Batgirl's boyfriend (woot!) the Boyfriend of the Day.

My local paper, the Raleigh News & Observer, has a story about Florida State quarterbacks which mentions Mauer in passing and leaves a frightening question both unasked and unanswered: what would have happened if the Chairman had chosen Tallahassee over the Twin Cities?

Even having gone to FSU, I'm glad Mauer chose the Twins over the 'Noles...
