Reminder: Batling Singles Night!

Fellow Batling heraldguy sez:

To All and Singular To Whom These Presents Shall Come, Greetings: Whereas we, the devotees of the great Lady Batgirl do desire to attend en masse a contest featuring our beloved Minnesota Twins, Be it known to all that we shall be attending said contest on Saturday, the 18th day of June, 2005. Be it further known that we do intend meeting in section 214, and that this event is open to all who would enjoy our company.

So if you're looking for Twins love and/or companionship, go all the way down the first base line tomorrow night and join the party! Who knows? The event might produce some matchups of future padres and madres. But please, not on the first date.

And I've been reminded to say: "sorry, ladies, Joe Mauer will not be attending due to previously-scheduled on-field commitments."

Yes, all have fun, i'm a mite bitter that I can't be there.

Aurora,

Tell me about it.

/me shakes fist at 1000+ mile difference between Metrodome and home.

Whoa, not to make the comments on this devolve entirely into can't-be-there whining, but I'm whiny that I can't be there. I think I'm a good 1500 miles away.

Have great times, y'all who make it, and know that pictures and stories are expected.

I don't know how many miles it is for me, but it's obviously way too many. Have fun, all.

hehehe.. I intend to be there and have a good enough time for all of you who can't be there. However, I will not be drinking enough for all of you - just me.

Awesome, have a good time all who go. You can be the first to perhaps play the game I came up with last night simply called "The Jumbotron Challenge".

The rules are simple: If you get on the Jumbotron, stand up and try to take off your pants before the camera quickly cuts to someone else. You're the all-time champion forever if you can do it while you're being Kiss-Cammed.

Even if you don't get to play, have a blast anyways!

sweet!

I'm gonna win!

"Sorry, ladies, Joe Mauer will not be attending due to previously-scheduled on-field commitments."

That's too bad...I'd find a way to make the 1070-mile journey in one day if he was going to be there. I don't know how I'd do it, but I'd find a way.

But will Micheal Cuddyer be there? I know, he has two commitments (third base? first base?) for the game, but still....

I will be there along with my little sister. A friend and sister's boyfriend are still uncertain, so I'm not sure the size of my group, but we will be joining you. We can shun Wee Sister and her boyfriend.

Just Beth
Who will be in her "Cheap Seats Chick" Shirt. Wee Sister will be in her "Justin Morneau is my boyfriend shirt."

Skorch- That is the best use of Jumbotron I've ever heard.

On Opening Day, the "Kiss Cam" found a young couple, before the young man proceeded to put his hand behind the young woman's head and push her head down towards... well, you get the idea. The camera quickly cut away, but it still got a big reaction from the boisterous sellout crowd.

Personally, my dream "Kiss Cam" scenario is to get the camera on a guy and a girl together, but then have the guy kiss another guy instead (or better yet, have the girl kiss another girl). Unfortunately, my friends and I are apparently not good kiss-cam material, as we are neither attractive nor elderly, and none of my female friends want to participate in such shenanigans anyway. C'est la vie.

OK, we're not single, but we decided to go. Do we have a strategy for ID'ing each other?

There is a 75% chance I will be at the game, but sadly, this is one of my parents' Season Ticket nights, so I will be employing the use of those tickets. I'll wave to 214 from my seat in 128.

spycake --

I saw it happen this year at the Cell in Chicago. Kisscam locked onto a likely looking couple, and she turned around and kissed the girl sitting on the other side of her. Very popular with the crowd.

I hope you all had fun at Singles Night

I hope everyong had a wonderful time at this outing. I apologize for being a bit antisocial, however with a virus raging my body, limiting me to only sneezing and coughing as forms of verbal communication, I decided to sit away from the Batlings. I didn't want to get you all sick.

Next time I will for sure partake in the festivities.
