Welcome to Hotel Joe!

In a recent article in USA Today, Joe Mauer said he would be hosting a party for his friend Justin Morneau's 24th birthday this Sunday at his home—a.k.a. "Hotel Joe." Team Batgirl was able to secure an invitation and took these top secret pictures to share with you. We are very pleased to present:

The guests begin to arrive. "Be careful," Mike Redmond warns. "Joe gets pretty Martha about these parties. Did you bring your toga?"

AHthree.jpg
The happy host! To-GA! To-GA!

AHtwo.jpg
Things get pretty crazy as Terry Mulholland pours some carbonated green tea on Matt Guerrier.

AHfour.jpg
The guest of honor arrives and looks skeptically at the toga Mauer throws him.

AHthree.jpg
"You'll wear that toga and LIKE IT!"

AHfive.jpg
"Hey, what the HELL'S that?"

AHsix.jpg
"GODDAMN IT CUDDY! I SAID NO CRAPPY LOVE SONGS!"

AHseven.jpg
Matt LeCroy rolls in! But where's his toga?

AHeight.jpg
"Shout! (Come on now!)"

AHnine.jpg
There's that toga, Matty! A little bit softer now!

AHeleven.jpg
"Hey, Joe, this toga party's all right."

AHthree.jpg
"Hey that's great, Justin! Now, let's have a PANTY RAID!"

AHten.jpg
"AWESOME!"

hahaha... I love it!

"Wait 'til Otis sees us! He loved us!!!"

Posted by: heraldguy at May 16, 2005 11:44 PM

Batgirl, will you marry me?

Oh, wait....um, sorry Jeb....um....

I need a "batgirl" of my own... :) Someone to make me laugh - and teach me the ways of loving the Twins, even when its hard and the fear-of-the-sucking-time is upon us...

Just thought i'd share that Joe did indeed sign my Joe Mauer is my boyfriend shirt. He was such a nice guy too. He asked me if I made it, I of course, gave all the credit to batgirl, and he goes its funny, i've never seen one like that before, and smiled his gorgeous little smile at me...needless to say, I was in heaven.

Like Sam, I also want to go to Hotel Joe. Amazing, BG!!

Molly, that's awesome! I also met him Saturday and he is such a great guy.

oh oh...are any of the boys going to be on double secret probation after this party?

Posted by: SDave at May 17, 2005 05:58 AM

*awed, respectful silence*

Dude.

Posted by: CarrieIC at May 17, 2005 07:22 AM

TOGA TOGA TOGA...
Did Justin get a special red checkered one since it was his bday? Too funny!

This morning when I got to work (after unsuccessfully trying to win Twins-Yankees tickets on the radio), my first thought was "Oh God... What if it's more Hottest Chick pictures?" Thank you BG, for not having Hottest Chick pictures today. It looks like it was a pretty wild party! Hopefully there won't be any double-secret probation from Bud "Dean Wormer" Selig.

But did Little Nicky Punto show up without that pledge pin??

Posted by: Ron at May 17, 2005 08:10 AM

So Jeb, are you going to be at the game tonight to see your former BF, or will it be too painful?

Posted by: TwinsGoddess at May 17, 2005 09:13 AM

Speaking of Koskie, did you all see the story in the STrib? Click my name for the link. Hide your underwear, boys!

LNP was there...its just our little superhero drank so much he cuddled up in one of the folds of Lecroys toga and went to sleep

In the words of Shannon Stewart: "Uh oh... That cat wears sunglasses!"

I thought I remember seeing LNP pushing the mayor's daughter home in a shopping cart.

I always knew Niedermeyer was a Bitch Sox fan...

Posted by: ndtf at May 17, 2005 10:33 AM

NY-Brian,
You aren't the only one hoping against hope to find him a BG of his own. Just keep the faith and it may happen someday.

Posted by: double-a at May 17, 2005 12:04 PM

Wow! All I can say, Bat-Girl, is WOW. Thanks for that inside view of Hotel Joe. I'll have to get a toga ready, just in case I get invited someday...

It will bring back a lot of memories, TGoddess, but I'll watch. I've got to support my new Boyfriend, though. I hope he goes 4-4 and Corey goes 3-4.

El diablo!

Posted by: Batgirl at May 17, 2005 01:12 PM

LOL el diablo! That was my first thought when I saw the entry. Of course, my second thought was "Toga! Toga! Toga!" so...

And in honor of the Good Doctor's birthday, Starz OnDemand is showing The Island of Dr. Moreau!

Posted by: theladyscribe at May 17, 2005 02:10 PM

JustBeth...

you know you are going to kill all the poor single guys on this site with talk like that! Now they are all imagining single female baseball fans dressed in togas...

I think I can actually hear the hyperventillation.

Posted by: CapitalBabs at May 17, 2005 03:45 PM

CapitalBabs,

What hyperventilation?

...

CapitalBabs-
I too have a toga, a reminder of my wild & crazy days at NDSU. Toga is a hallowed tradition to one particular group of farm kids and is something that I missed dearly in February. Crap. Now I can't stop humming the tune to the unofficial fight song. On the plains of North Dakota...

Posted by: ndtf at May 17, 2005 03:53 PM

MK, that was simply the term I decided was appropriate for a distinct sound of heavy breathing.

Posted by: CapitalBabs at May 17, 2005 04:42 PM

CapitalBabs,

That's what I figured. I just got too cute with the snarky comment, is all. Sometimes when I try to be funny I am, but sometimes...well, my rarely-updated blog *is* named "Open Mouth, Insert" for a reason.

MK

Posted by: mk at May 17, 2005 05:38 PM

*wink*

ok... I just thought you were a little too dizzy to make sense of it all.

Posted by: CapitalBabs at May 17, 2005 05:52 PM

Did I ever mention that I was a roommate of and fraternity brother of Chris Miller, who wrote "Animal House"? Well so it was. I had dinner with him in March. Al

CapitalBabs,

I think I like your excuse better.

MK

Posted by: mk at May 17, 2005 06:01 PM

Dammit, now I have the "unofficial fight song" of NDSU in my head. Oh well, it'll take my mind off the fact that my own Batgirl has insisted on watching the Country Music Awards so she can critique their "outfits".

Posted by: Jerjo at May 17, 2005 08:35 PM

Wow that was gr8 i want 2 go 2 hotel joe. I think it would be so kool!
