does this game ever end? I was playing it for 20 minutes, and I left my lunch in the microwave and it got cold, but I did get to the awesomely cool score of Torii 311, Sox 17 before I stopped playing. If only there were numbers like that in real life...
Posted by: goesboom at May 17, 2005 01:38 AMnice game. too complex for me, tho. ms. pac man is more my speed.
just watched the replay of my boy a.j. taking chan ho park out of the park for a grand slam. good to see. a.j. will always be an honorary twin. too bad for him that roy hobbs can't stay in the minors forever.
Posted by: clay jr at May 17, 2005 02:40 AMNifty. I made it to 60 before the Sox scored 1.
Posted by: CarrieIC at May 17, 2005 07:28 AMThis is completely off-topic, but I'm curious about fandom cross-overs...
Is anyone here planning to see Return of the Sith at 12:01 tonight, or am I the only Twins fan/Star Wars geek who can still muster enough hope in the prequels to drag myself out in the middle of the night?
Posted by: CarrieIC at May 17, 2005 07:54 AMYeah, I ran the score up to 168-1 before losing interest. Sure was fun to knock a few bitc - er, White Sox over the head! Glad the Rangers have been doing essentially that recently.
Posted by: sacky at May 17, 2005 07:55 AMKurtis, you never fail to make a great game! It helps pass the boring days at work! Keep em coming! Maybe we could have something like "style Justin Morneau's hair" game or something:)
Posted by: Mic at May 17, 2005 08:06 AMSince I've always though Matthew LeCroy resembled Pooh-bear, I think a find the hunny pots game would be appropriate... Or something along those lines.
Posted by: aurora at May 17, 2005 08:11 AMCarrieIC, I plan to see Star Wars, but not until next month, maybe.
great game, Kurtis! it's always fun to beat the snot out of Bitch Sox.
Posted by: kafumbly at May 17, 2005 08:28 AMMic -
Nothing would make my girlfriend happier than the chance to run her virtual fingers through the doctor's virtual cherubic curls. But I'm not sure I want to encourage her.

Posted by: Kurtis at May 17, 2005 08:41 AMMic, darling!
What a fabulous idea. But as you see above, Kurtis is already wise to me, so it's probably not gonna happen. Though a hair-styling, dress-up Justin ... sigh ... the mind boggles.

Maybe you can get Lew to come out with you to see it. He'll be in Milwaukee on Saturday for the game.
Posted by: metsfan at May 17, 2005 09:21 AM
I love when Torii can kill two of 'em with one swing. Cooooooool...
Last night I couldn't help but think of Lew when they showed the people camping out in front of the theater waiting to buy tickets. They were all decked out in Star Wars shirts and Darth Vader masks. There were a few people playing with light sabers. The whole time I was wondering if Lew was wishing he could be there too...
Posted by: ndtf at May 17, 2005 09:30 AMIf you have a chance this afternoon, watch Sports Center, b/c they have a feature on Johan's changeup, and how he developed it, during the second half of the show (so in about half an hour from now).
Posted by: TBird41 at May 17, 2005 10:00 AMThey just...kept...coming.
I say we take off, nuke the site from orbit.
Posted by: Jeb at May 17, 2005 10:13 AMCarrie,
Oh, we'll be seeing RotS all right, but we're waiting 'till Thursday, as that's Fritz's birthday.
The bigger question: do you think Lew Ford will be attending the opening midnight showing? ;)
Hah, I need to read all the posts in the thread. Better question about Lew: will Gardy kill him if he heads for a midnight showing, the night before a day game (with a noon start, no less)? And will he come with his lightsaber and Jedi garb?
Posted by: Katharriet at May 17, 2005 10:27 AMI saw that this morning, TBird... almost made me late leaving for work. :)
Posted by: kafumbly at May 17, 2005 11:10 AMoff topic, and maybe old news, but its new to me. No referendum.
Click my name for the link to the site.
Posted by: aurora at May 17, 2005 12:14 PMThere's an editorial in the Strib by a Bethel University student who happens to be a BitchSox fan. (click my name for link)
Maybe we should all chip in and buy his girlfriend Rachel tickets to every remaining Twins/BitchSox game.
Posted by: heraldguy at May 17, 2005 01:27 PMI killed 200 Sox without any getting by -- but only after I discovered you could move much faster diagonally.
They look like evil slugs -- so it's sorta like gardening in Oregon.
Oh, and Happy Syttende Mai to all you Norskes out there...
Posted by: heraldguy at May 17, 2005 01:28 PMAre the ChiSox no longer known as the Bitch Sox in these parts?
Posted by: kl at May 17, 2005 03:21 PMAre the ChiSox no longer known as the Bitch Sox in these parts?
Posted by: kl at May 17, 2005 03:21 PMnever fear, kl, of COURSE they are!
Posted by: kafumbly at May 17, 2005 03:41 PMkl - I was reluctant to use our pet name in the interest of making the game family friendly and workplace safe.

Posted by: Kurtis at May 17, 2005 03:41 PMOf course, with no Twins game last night, I actually had to watch the Rangers game out of intense curiousity.
I had to cheer for Pierzynski's Grand Slam and then promptly told the Rangers they would just have to accomodate that into their hitting so that they could make up for it. And THEY DID!
Still gotta love AJ getting the big hit...
Posted by: CapitalBabs at May 17, 2005 03:59 PMok - second post is necessary since I finally got a chance to go read Cuddy's post on the Twins site. I thought this portion was extremely enlightening:
As long as we stay focused and playing as a team, we are going to be just fine. And as long as we have guys like Johan Santana, Carlos Silva and LeCroy in the clubhouse keeping things loose, we are going to have fun.
Practical jokes and pranks have always been a part of baseball, whether it's Corey Koskie coming back to the dome and taking a pair of scissors to some lucky player's underwear, Santana spraying someone down in the shower with a freezing water hose, or a player (whose name we won't mention!) filling LeCroy's locker with a case of Little Debbie Nutty Bars. It's a good and fun way to keep things loose in the clubhouse.
Trust me, when you see the same guys every day for seven months, you need something to do to break that monotony. With Koskie coming back to play us these next couple of days with the Blue Jays, believe it when I say that everyone in our clubhouse will be on guard. I don't think anyone will have any personal items within grasp for him to mess with!
*laugh*
That's our boys!!
Posted by: CapitalBabs at May 17, 2005 04:20 PMCarrieIC,
I thought Sith opened tomorrow night at midnight (technically the 19th). And I'm debating going to a midnight premiere.
And Happy Syttende Mai to all as well.
And my keyboard must be slow to relay the arrow keys, cuz I kinda sucked at the game.
Posted by: double-a at May 17, 2005 04:54 PMYOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST:
Stadium bill passed the House of Representatives Local Government committee with no referendum required. It will be in the House Tax committee next.
What the heck! I want those beyotches to spew some broken teeth when Torii bashes 'em... or at least some fuzzballs.
Posted by: AJ Lecroy at May 17, 2005 05:42 PMBG and her fellow batlings -
This B--, I mean, White Sox Fan loves this game!!!! Go ahead and have fun.
BG - I commend you for your love of your team and your insistence on taking the high road. I believe we can support our respective teams and "chirp" at one another without being vile and disrespectful.
It's All Good.

Yes. I know that now. In spite of the fact that my tickets said Wednesday, 12:01 AM. The movie theatre has issues with time and calendars and suchlike.
*grumbles*
Posted by: CarrieIC at May 17, 2005 10:06 PMLOL! That was an amusing twenty minutes!
Posted by: Suzi at May 17, 2005 10:47 PMCB, how much you wanna bet it was DJ Cuddles who filled Big LeRoy's locker with the Little Debbie bars? hahaha... he didn't have any trouble naming names until then! yep, that's my tertiary boyfriend. :)
Posted by: kafumbly at May 17, 2005 10:58 PMoh man.. I think that is a given. *GRIN* He wouldn't name names because it would be bad form to brag.. *Giggle*
Posted by: CapitalBabs at May 18, 2005 11:19 AMAngie-
Did you see that the Doctors curl's were gone last night:( Or at least a lot shorter. Maybe he read our thread and was one step ahead of us...but I didn't mean CUT THEM!
I *thought* his locks looked shorn. How disappointing. At least he hit a home run so we know the curls aren't his source of all those powerful hits.
