Victory '04!

The Santana-Nathan '04 Victory rally was a gigantic success! The delegates unanimously adopted a three-plank platform: (1) bitches should be sat down; (2) walks will haunt; and (3) closer relations with Venezuela. Even better, our nominee struck out 14. Well done, Batlings!

testing . . . this is only a test.

Um, OK so maybe it was the whole URL thing that was confusing. It's not like Wendy and I took a class entitled "The History of the Internet" or anything in Grad School. OK, so we did.

We had a blast at the game. It was great to meet everyone. Hopefully we will be successful in our future posting. The highlight was the group singing of the Hormel Row of Fame song. Usually there are only 2 of us in section 222.

Anyway, more later...

Y'all looked great out there. I kept thinking I'd wander over sometime, but was too into the game (and I figure I comment so rarely no one would know me anyway. Plus I'm shy).

But from section 127, row 18 (on the aisle that's nearest home plate), we could see the Js just great and the big Santana/Nathan sign (even with my poor vision & lacking binoculars). We worried y'all would run out of Js there at the end.

Such a great game! What a performance from Johan! Too fun.

Posted by: Laurel at September 19, 2004 05:11 PM

I, too, was there, probably directly above the official rally, with my J's. Actually, I Tivo'd the game and my J's were on Fox Sports Net just before the start of the 4th inning (if anyone could get a screenshot of it, I would be VERY thankful). I had a spectacular time, and even had enough J's! Everyone kept asking me how many we made (17) and were worried that we'd run out. A great time was had by all.

Faboolous time!! So glad I got to meet so many faboolous batlings - and THE Batgirl!!
How could you let Bat-Dad take those butt pictures - what a great sport ;}

Saw the rookies in some pretty "sexy" outfits after the game - I hope everyone sees them on the news tonight - I was quite jealous that Jason Bartlett was wearing a tiara and I was not! I believe it was JD Durbin who was wearing a hot pink feather boa -

Oh Nick and Boo quite HOTTTTT after the game! She-Ra and I took some snap shots -we hope they turn out!

And I have no clue as to what I am doing in this frame - I think I was supposed to be clapping - but maybe I was praying?!?! Why would I need to pray - oh I see it's the top of the 9th - no fears Count I had faith in you!!

Again - it was truly a fun time -

Much Love -

They showed another sign at the start of the inning that had the whole slogan on there, but "www.batgirl" got cut off the bottom by another sign, leaving only ".com"

I was pleasantly amused.

Posted by: IcePhoenix at September 19, 2004 05:55 PM

OH MAN! That was fun! You guys rock! I am so glad to have met you all! ...And to have seen Johan sit down 14 bitches, including his 250th of the season. Stacy does not have much of a voice right now...lol

Posted by: Stacy at September 19, 2004 06:14 PM

Big props to E for bringing the banner in the first place, great job!

It was indeed a pleasure to meet all of you, although I know there were a few who's names I didn't get. Still, it was a great day at the ballpark all around.

Now, on to Chicago to trash their field as we clinch the division!

Posted by: Skorch at September 19, 2004 06:24 PM

Unfortunately I didn't have the opertunity to go and join the rally but boy did i cheer when i saw the sign...and for Santana's 14 strike outs!!! HOW SEXY WAS THAT...Well until later

Posted by: Bojangles Crain at September 19, 2004 06:25 PM

What a great game! And a treat to meet the batgirl and company. But Wonder Woman, shame on you hiding your face. Maybe that photo can be touched up with Boo Berry in your place, ;>).

Why do I have this burning desire to purchase batgirl tee's for Johan and Joe. I really think they should have one. Maybe I'll do that.

Posted by: insider at September 19, 2004 06:26 PM

WOW! It was great to meet all of you (in normal situations, I'm very quiet...but, well, the Twins should make anyone talk). I think I'll be lacking a voice tomorrow from the yelling. :)

Batgirl: you can quote me on this: Bert had 258 K's. :)

Dearest Insider -

Where were you??? I'm sorry I cannot remember where everyone was officially placed - it's my old age. And we were sort of spread out - I'll feel like a dork if you were the nice man sitting next to me - or if you're not a man - EKE!!!

Well I wasn't really trying to hide - it just happened - I mean how will Boo ever know who his biggest fan is if I hide??

Much Love -
Wonder Woman -

Oh She-Ra and I know why Pat Borders has six kiddies - WHOA NELLIE - his wife is absolutely WOW!! Nick's new fiance was adorable too!

Posted by: Wonder Woman at September 19, 2004 06:43 PM

I had no part in making the banner, but had fun letting my arm go numb holding it proudly in the air. I'm the one on the left by the way. Great season, great pitching, and I'll see you all in the playoffs!!!

That was indeed a fantabulous rally! Y'all were the perfect people to catch a game with...it's so good to be with other people singing the Hormel Row of Fame song and dancing to the catchier at bat music. And of course, the actual game was pretty phenomenal, too...glad we had the back-up Js available!

Posted by: Margie at September 19, 2004 06:58 PM

WW, lol, well where was I? If I tell you that I wouldn't be anonymous. But keep your decoder handy.

Posted by: insider at September 19, 2004 07:00 PM

Quite possibly the best game I've witnessed at the Dome (and I've seen some good 'uns). Do you think Gardenhire brought in Nathan in a non-save situation in honor of the Rally?

Posted by: Word Smith at September 19, 2004 07:22 PM

Wonder Woman, I think you are wiping your nose. Look, there's my arm, next to Skorch! Erica, that was the coolest banner ever! I'm so glad you got on TV!!!

AJ's roommate asked us "Who is this Santana/Nathan person?" He's a Braves fan though, which should explain his ignorance...

Posted by: Donnalove at September 19, 2004 08:21 PM

I am very new to this site, but I am sorry I missed the rally. Absolutely dominant Johan! Ah, if only I were unemployed...

Posted by: HotFuss at September 19, 2004 08:30 PM

RD is so proud of you all, getting as much air time as you did and raising the profile of the ticket.

Bear with RD, though, as he explains one of the reasons (in addition to the cold-from-Hell) that kept him away from the rally.

As much as RD loathes the Bitch Sox, he loves his Bears from his growing-up years in Chicago.

I hope not - I don't have a tissue in my hand and I haven't wiped my nose on my sleeve since I was a wee won ;-)
I see your sleeve!!

ATTENTTION!!

Fox Nine News - will be showing all the Twins rookies in their frocks at 9-45 during the sports - so I hope you all read this before then!!

It was great when Johan hit the 10 and 250 thresholds in the 7th, but I'm still beside myself over what he did in the 8th: three sit-downs in 10 pitches. One ball, nine strikes. That was pretty intense.

Posted by: Silo at September 19, 2004 09:24 PM

Batgirl,
We met you after the game outside of gate H.
what great game and a pleasure to meet you after
reading your site all year. You both look like
your pictures.
GO TWINS!!!

Wonderwoman, That was my husband the Professor sitting next t o you (looking pretty grouchy in the photo in front of 04) We are from Winona and usually are also sitting in 222 . Both of our kids are spreading thebatgirl word to Washington DC and New Hampshire. It wasfun to be with you all today.

Posted by: suesew at September 19, 2004 09:53 PM

Welcome, welcome to all of you who are making your first posts! Keep it up! It makes Batgirl so happy!

Posted by: Batgirl at September 19, 2004 09:57 PM

Hey there,

I'm fairy new to this place (I only found it a few weeks ago), but I must say, I love it! Batgirl, you have me in tears regularly from laughing so hard.

Anyway, I was at the game today. Although, sadly, my mom and I had tickets in another section, by the milk jug. The game was amazing and Johan was downright nasty. I can't wait for them to clinch in front of the Bitch Sox.

Oh, and thanks so much for the heads-up about Fox 9, Wonder Woman! I just happened to read that at 9:45 exactly and turned the TV on right on time. Studs, aren't they?

It was so exciting to see my banner made TV (all the better to spread the word) and even better to hear Dick and Bert comment! Glad I taped the game.

Nice to meet everyone. And special thanks to Wonder Woman for her barrette donation that enabled us to display the banner without our arms falling off.

Posted by: E at September 19, 2004 10:19 PM

Great banner, E! It made all the difference!

Posted by: Goober at September 19, 2004 10:42 PM

Wonder Woman:

Perhaps you were ducking on a foul ball that landed about 7 sections away? After screaming "I got it!" of course. :-D

Wish I could have seen all the rookies in their fancy frocks. If anyone managed to get screen caps, (or can point me in the direction of photos), I'd be most appreciative.

All-

el diablo is so pleased that the rally was a stunning success and received such positive media exposure. I knew that making Terry Tiffee official spokesman for the campaign was the greatest idea ever. That, and the undying support of activists like you, make it all worthwhile.

Nonetheless, el diablo lives in Portland, OR and while the campaign office here is small, it is devout and energetic. He does all he can for a Santana/Nathan victory on Nov. 2.

Mimiru also lives in the fartherness reaches of Minnesota (Moorhead) and is very busy (college) and so my time to camapaign is extremely limited at this time of year.

But we struggle on, as support by people like el diablo, so far away, make us feel better about being able to get to the dome the same day we start out for it.

Posted by: Mimiru at September 20, 2004 04:42 AM

Eek, She-Ra should have worn a cap!!

Rock on, Section 222ers!! *waves* Hi Wendy & Amber! I think we met in the bathroom a couple of weeks ago but I wasn't 100% sure it was you!

I didn't get any good pics of the boys in drag...too many people in the way. Plus someone yelling in my ear, "Get Juan! Get Juan!" Plus trying to get one good shot of tasty tasty Nick. YOW!!

It was so great to meet the BatFamily and the Posting All-Stars! Batgirl was a perfect hostess, and BatMom & BatDad were especially charming!!

Still reeling from the supernatural awesomeness of Santana,

I was attempting to pin campaign buttons on the fish at the hatchery at Interstate State Park when the ranger came out and pointed to the "PLEASE! Do not molest the fish in any way." sign. I'm sorry I missed it, but I think we've sewn up the racoon vote due to my efforts.

Posted by: mmmarkiep at September 20, 2004 09:00 AM

That was the most fun I have ever had at a Twins game... and I've been to a lot of Twins games.

It was fantastic to meet everybody in person, and the fact that we received actual TV coverage was simply the icing on one heckuva great cake.

Thanks to everybody who turned out to support the cause, and to all of you who were cheering at home, and to BatDad for being so handy with the camera, and most especially to BatGirl and the rest of the BatTeam.

We had so much fun, the TwinsDemiGoddesses (a.k.a. the Keepers of the Js) and I had to go home and take a nap.

AFTER we watched the re-play of ourselves on TV, that is...

Posted by: TwinsGoddess at September 20, 2004 09:27 AM

Hey, everybody looked great from my perch in section 134!

Posted by: Roscoe at September 20, 2004 09:29 AM

Let me add my comment to the chorus of joy here. Finally, I feel like I have found Twins fan who could give my native-habitat Cub fans a run for their money! It was great to meet you all. And in honor of the rally, let me pen a few new song lyrics...

"For it's one, two, three strikes, SIT DOWN (...), at the ol' ball game"

Great to meet Team Batgirl and my fellow 'Lings. The game was the highlight of my weekend!
We should have some more rallies during the playoffs! I am all for viewing some of the games at an eating establishment!

We weren't complaining about the cartoons because, if you notice, AJ and I are both looking down. Probably doing our official scorekeeping duties.
