Start with a large mixing bowl and fill with a homer to left with Joe Mauer on base to put the Twins on the board, add a dash of RBI.
Add a heaping spoonful of double down the third base line in the eighth; while stirring, score Bartlett and Punto.
Finally, sprinkle with dimples and pour into a cake pan.
Cook at 375 for 15 minutes and you have the Boyfriend of the Day.

Posted by Jeb at September 11, 2006 10:21 PMYum! I'll have to try that recipe some day...
Posted by: Hannah! at September 11, 2006 10:28 PMTommorow's entry should be entitled, "How Jackal Got His Groove Back"
Posted by: Elliot at September 11, 2006 10:30 PMYou forgot serving instructions: "Serve HOT!"
Posted by: Spacey Stacey at September 11, 2006 10:31 PMSo glad to see Cuddles has found his bat again! I was a little forlorn he was the only one w/o a hit yesterday. Much deserved BOD! My favorite part was the revenge he dished out after Joe got hit in the back.
Posted by: Newton at September 11, 2006 10:34 PMI will take that cake. And I will eat it, too.
Posted by: Georgia Girl at September 11, 2006 10:35 PMI'm really glad we won... really.
But that being said, why... WHY did gardy bring Nathan back out for the 9th inning after the twins scored him 3 more runs?? I thought we needed to save our bullpen? Nathan threw more than 35 pitches tonight. there is a good chance he won't be back out tomorrow, and with shaggy's first start, and liriano being on a pitch count, we need nathan more those days than today. ugh. At least nathan got the save.
Ok I take that back. Nathan will probably be able to pitch on Wed.
Posted by: gina at September 11, 2006 10:39 PMand hopefully with the Twin's bat being so hawt right now we won't even need to go to our bullpen.
Posted by: gina at September 11, 2006 10:41 PMStanding 'O' for the big right-fielder from Virginia! And a sustained golf clap for the Jackyl. Keep this up, Carlos; and I promise to stop the mocking.
Posted by: E-6 at September 11, 2006 10:42 PMi second Elliot's recommendation: "How Jackal got his groove back" - Yes!
Posted by: dfb at September 11, 2006 10:43 PMCould there be two Twins with triple digit RBI totals?
There should be some sort of counselling available so that we can get ready for this.
Posted by: RK & WV at September 11, 2006 10:47 PMThanks dfb. Or perhaps, 'How Silva got his Sinker Back'?
Posted by: Elliot at September 11, 2006 10:56 PMFrom inside my head:
Blanton: "I held it like an egg."
Kendall: "And he scrambled the son of a bitch."
Interesting how Carlos kept the A's in check and it was the bullpen that let it slip a little tonight.
Cuddles was smellin 'em tonight... or was it just the cake baking?

Mr. Chairman finally has a jockbio
Posted by: gina at September 11, 2006 11:02 PMAlright! I can't believe Verlander got a JockBio before him.
Posted by: Nora at September 11, 2006 11:04 PMWhich Oakland batter will get plunked during this series to make up for Mauer getting it in the back with a 3-0 count? My money is on Kendall.
Posted by: jimbaseball at September 11, 2006 11:05 PMIsn't kendall like 8th on the all time HBP list?
now there's a career stat you'd love to have.
My vote for Oakland plunkee goes to Milton Bradley. That way when we strand him on first Dr. Neau can tell hm to not pass go and do not collect 200 dollars.
Posted by: WV at September 11, 2006 11:13 PMI don't want to jinx it.. but we may have two (even THREE) 30-homer gentlemen on the team this year. I was surprised to see Torii sneaking up on the sacred plane.
Posted by: Neil at September 11, 2006 11:13 PMExcuse me, I did not mean "will Cuddyer ever get another ribby" I meant "will Nathan ever stop walking people?" He obviously realised that he could give up 5 in the 9th and still get the save as long as he finished the game, but all those piches can't be good for a man.Al
Posted by: al at September 11, 2006 11:14 PMNow you need to add a recipe for frosting the Cuddles cake!
Posted by: S.B. at September 11, 2006 11:17 PMhooray for Cuddy!
I couldn't believe that crappy strike zone tonight! every single pitcher but Gaudin had issues with it. home plate umpire Randy Marsh needs to be smacked around a bit.
Posted by: kafumbly at September 11, 2006 11:22 PMi love it.
but...i think i'd pour it into the cake pan and THEN sprinkle on the dimples...and i'd consider baking rather than cooking
i vote for kendall to get smoked..i respect the guy, but i think it'd really piss him off
in good humor,
twinsniwt
What a weird but awesome game. Silva back pitching well, weak pitcher hitting Mauer and Mauer showing emotion, Cuddy getting well deserved revenge for his team mate in the best way possible, Silva pitchin well...did I mention that?
Great game. Good luck vibes for McG tomorrow.
Posted by: L. at September 12, 2006 01:25 AMHey Cuddy
He's coming to your town
Hey Cuddy
He never wears a frown
Hey Cuddy
He's happy as can be
'Cuz all Minnesota
Is Cuddy's family
HEY CUDDY!
(With apologies to John Candy and SCTV)
My prediction is Chavez will get plunked in the 1st inning today. The plunking of Mauer was obviously intentional and they didn't even give the pitcher a warning???

The sprinkling of dimples is the secret ingredient that makes this one extra delicious.
