Welcome back, Sweetcheeks….
Goober/Doctor 19; Readers/The Field 17; Batbaby/Torii 9; Batgirl/Chairman 7; Sooz/(Cuddy) 5; Jeb/ (Silva) 3.
hmmmm.....
Posted by: CapitalBabs at July 31, 2006 09:54 PMOh, bfLNP. You following an 0 for 4, 3K game with a 4 for 4, 4R, 3RBI gem is like bringing me flowers a day after saying mean things about my cat.
*sigh*
Oh, the triple? Like the requisite makeup sex.
hoTTT.
(I stole your 3rd T idea Jeb...I think it was Jeb.)
(And, YAY for Torii!!)
Posted by: BAT bandwagoner at July 31, 2006 09:55 PMwell, he sure did pick a great night to make his triumphant return, eh?
Posted by: AT at July 31, 2006 09:56 PMAhhhh it's so nice to have those sweetcheeks back in the lineup.
Posted by: grace at July 31, 2006 09:59 PMJust watched the highlights - whatever Silva said after the double play, I'm sure it was in spanish! Anyone have the translation?
Posted by: PJStP at July 31, 2006 10:00 PMIt's scary. I was watching Hunter's at bat...and he was swining at a few iffy pitches.
I was like "C'mon Torii! Even Rondell knocked one out his first game back."
The words were barely out of my mouth when the next pitch went a long ways over the fence.
--------
It's sorta funny our first runs in the series can be attributed to Lee, even though we weren't able to pull the trade to bring him in.
Posted by: Torhu at July 31, 2006 10:01 PMI guess our boys had a lot of surpressed hits that needed to be released. That was fun! Speaking of fun, I am playing hooky from work on Wednesday and heading to the Dome. Any other Batlings planning to get walk-up tickets? I'd be happy to meet up with some folks for the game.
Posted by: Jaguar at July 31, 2006 10:02 PMyou people are gross. objectifying men like that.
Posted by: son of jammar1700 at July 31, 2006 10:04 PMSigh...all is well in Twins Territory. Welcome back, Torii. What a game from LNP, too!
Posted by: Newton at July 31, 2006 10:08 PMAw. And here I was hoping for a Jackal BOD. Such a fine, fine performance.
Ah well. Glad to see you back, Torii :)
Posted by: CarrieICL at July 31, 2006 10:09 PMAlfonso who?
Posted by: neutrino boi at July 31, 2006 10:12 PMA blowout after a tense, closely contested series with Detroit is good for what ails me. I was running low on nitro tabs. Welcome back, Torii. And don't forget, plate discipline is cool. Everybody's doing it these days.
Posted by: twayn at July 31, 2006 10:21 PM*tsk* kids....
Posted by: jamar1700 at July 31, 2006 10:41 PMNice BOD for Torii, but major props to Little Nicky for an awesome game at the plate, plus a Web Gem (tm).
Posted by: TX Ken at July 31, 2006 10:43 PMMaybe Torii's injury was actually a good thing (I know, a bit of a reach, but hear me out)...
Even though it was unlikely he would be traded, it pretty much made certain of that.
Plus, we plugged in Tyner and found another guy who has been clicking on all cylinders.
AND
Right when we needed a pick-me-up after a couple losses, the team's "heart and soul"TM gives us that thing we needed.
Come to think of it, was Torii really injured at all, or was this someone's plan all along?
Posted by: Eric at July 31, 2006 10:45 PMA lot of BODs tonight.
Just the kind of game needed after a week of high intensity games. Be real nice to string about 7 of those games together before heading to Detroit in a week.
Posted by: JimCrikket at July 31, 2006 10:59 PMGood for Hunter. I thought, hey, it would be really cool if his first game back he did something that would show how much he missed playing. Kinda read my mind...
And son of jamar 1700, there is WAYYYYY more objectifying of women in this world than men so, too bad.
Posted by: L.H. girl at July 31, 2006 11:03 PMEver since looking at that picture, Mr. B has been singing a medley of Bubba Sparxx, "Booty, booty, booty, booty, rockin' everywhere," and the Shakira/Wyclef Jean's collab, "Oh, I know I am on tonight, my hips don't lie." Hooray for baseball booty music and the slugging return of Mr. Old Booty.
Posted by: Mr. Baseball No. 1 at July 31, 2006 11:11 PMi moreso think of black eyed peas and "what's he gonna do with all that junk, all that junk inside that trunk?"
Posted by: iheartmntwins at July 31, 2006 11:32 PMJeb, you must not be helping with the packing enough, we thought Silva would get this one.
Posted by: Mike&Jane at August 1, 2006 03:23 AMwell, Torii can go right ahead and keep proving me wrong, for all I care. ;-) I figured he'd go 0-fer, since he hasn't swung a bat in a few weeks.
Posted by: kafumbly at August 1, 2006 06:43 AMOh dear - I thought for sure Little Nicky Punto would be honoured - oh well - what a fun game to see!
Less Stats more A$$ - I'm good with that =)
Much Love
Wonder Woman
I'd know that batting glove ANYWHERE!
I know you would, T-Goddess! :)
"I guess they'll just have to settle for me being back," Hunter said with a laugh. (mlb.com)
Who WERE the Twins willing to give up for Soriano? My guess is our Torrid Romance would not have played with him.
Torii got a great Metrodome reception. It was nice to see him back in center field. And he did a good job showing off his upper body work out.
Go Torii. Go Twins.
Posted by: nailbiter at August 1, 2006 09:11 AMI like it when we can discuss our personal BOD choices. While the BODSHC definitely rules, it's nice to know that the choice wasn't cut-and-dry. Because that means so many good things happen, it's hard to find the best.
Torii is a very good choice. But, personally, the Jackal happily impressed me the most.
Posted by: JustBeth at August 1, 2006 12:55 PMyeah... I think my personal BOD was Silva... EVERYONE was hitting except the Rangers.
Posted by: CapitalBabs at August 1, 2006 02:24 PML.H. girl said: "there is WAYYYYY more objectifying of women in this world than men so, too bad."
I object to that remark. It isn't my object to subject anyone to a subject they object to, but I submit that subject of objectifying is very subjective, and that both sexes are probably subjected to it more than we can objectively measure.
