B.O.D.

Um, doctor?
Has anyone in your family ever taught you about sharing?
I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm thrilled with this whole homer every day thing. And the whole batting average nearing .280. And the RBI total getting close to Big Papi. But you're running away with this thing and frankly Goober's getting a little bit bigheaded about it all. Maybe tomorrow you could hit your homer after the Twins have gotten a commanding lead, huh? Wouldn't that be nice? Even nicer than teaching another teammate to dance?

Anyway, doc, I'm just suggesting that you keep up your torrid pace, yet find ways to share the Boyfriend of the Day.

Goober/Doctor: 13; Readers/The Field: 9; Batbaby/Torii: 6; Batgirl/Chairman 4; Jeb/ Lewwww3; Sooz/Stewie 2

Ortiz had ZERO rbi today, which means that Justin is now tied with him for AL lead. :-)

Posted by: kafumbly at June 23, 2006 11:06 PM

aw, crap, they already updated. never mind.

so Justin is three behind! heh

Posted by: kafumbly at June 23, 2006 11:09 PM

Justin is good.

That's a fantastic photo. I gotta save that one.

Nice slogan for the Doc you've got there, Will. I think it may be something that even he can say. ;)

Justin, dude, you are rocking my world over here. Keep it up, eh?

I just came here after reading the Strib article that had that photo and was thinking "that pic is so gonna be on Bat-girl.com" and I was right. Fabulous picture.

Man, this is fun.

I swear, I've seen Justin smile at least once for the last few games. Crazy!

This is such an awesome run and the Twinks are still 11 games back when do they play the Sucks or the Tiggers again?

Posted by: Todd at June 24, 2006 12:05 AM

This picture is just begging for a caption contest.

"Justin shows DJ Cuddles the new choreography he came up with for his favorite R. Kelly song."

YAY another win but the Chairman - GASP - had no hits!
Really Doc - what's with all the homeruns?!?
JJ - got a nice round of applause tonight -
and thanks to the Cubs first base coach for the baseball =)

Lets win again tomorrow - I predict the Chairman will have one helluva a game!!!
Mark - who??? =)

Much Love

This is great and all, but I wish Detroit and Chicago would stop running away, and come back and fight like men. Wimps.

Posted by: gopher38 at June 24, 2006 03:10 AM

Nice to hear JJ got a warm welcome back. He probably deserves more love than most of us gave him over the years -- even though his hitting approach drove me nuts most nights.

In today's market, it looks like the Cubs got a bargain if JJ keeps it up this year and next.

Twins are on WGN tonight -- so us out-of-towners get to watch two nights this week. I will turn the sound down and listen to Johnny G on XM. The only thing missing will be some Grain Belt Primos.

On one hand, it seems unfair that the Doctor is hogging all the BODs.

On the other hand, he unquestionably deserves them.

If he does, in fact, continue hitting a homer a game, I can live with that.

Posted by: CarrieICL at June 24, 2006 07:24 AM

Yay Doctor! Another BOD!

And really, does it matter a whole lot who wins BOD as long as SOMEONE does?

Posted by: rach at June 24, 2006 07:56 AM

I was beginning to get a little concerned about how this was affecting Goober.
Actually, more about how it's affecting Sooz & BatBaby.

Don't worry Sooz...Stew will be back soon.

And BatBaby...you know how your boyfriend is. Well, maybe you don't yet, but we do, and we'll testify that he is a bit of a streaky hitter, but he'll come around.

Posted by: bubblemint at June 24, 2006 08:06 AM

I agree with Will's analysis.

Posted by: Jeb at June 24, 2006 10:58 AM

i wish the doc would smile a bit more, i know hes canadian, but still. maybe we need to find him a miss america/usa girl just like mauer, eh?

Posted by: Karl at June 24, 2006 11:40 AM

I'm still all misty-eyed over the "Welcome Bacque Jacque" sign seen at the Dome last night. Sniffle, sniffle... I miss my boyfriend!!

PS: Is there a little more of that photo? Like, maybe some more of the, uh, lower part of it that maybe you cropped off? Just wonderin'...

Posted by: LaurieNY at June 24, 2006 12:15 PM

It looks like his jersey says "Udder"

Go Goob!!!

Posted by: oh at June 24, 2006 04:44 PM

Best minute on the pre-game, BG. Nice. You and Rita would be better together than Bert and Dick.

Posted by: oh at June 24, 2006 04:50 PM

10 games left vs Tigers, next game Jul 28th.
12 games left vs White Sox, next game Jul 24th. We end the regular season at US Cellular as well.

Posted by: twinkiething at June 24, 2006 05:03 PM

LaurieNY, I received many compliments on my "Jacque is my boyfriend" T-shirt last night. It was great to have a reason to wear it again!

See, BODSHC, you thought it was cute to pass out Pity BOD's to the Doctor early in the season, didn't you? It put a smile on Goober's face on those days when he had to read the speculation on whether his Boyfriend might need more remedial schooling in Rochester (and I'm not talking about the Mayo Clinic), and of course you figured The Chairman would claim more than his fair share later on, after the kids got out of school. What was the harm? Ah, but now that the Doc has found The Prescription, and together they've gone into the business like... well, like medicine and the people who prescribe medicine, it's getting a little embarrassing now, isn't it? See what such springtime shenanigans have wrought?
