Just as an FYI, there will be Spring training game threads in the cave.

well.. we know he has great hands - perhaps the lack of coordination in his legs is what makes him focus on being an awesome pitcher?? *grin* *wink*

Speeking of the Red Sox (who happen to be my 2nd fav. team), anyone see Manny's new do? Kind of reminds me of another fomer Red Sox. On another Red Sox note fomer Twin Dustin Mohr has Johnny Sellout's (Damon's) old number (18). 41 MORE DAYS TILL OPENING DAY!!!!!!!

*Note: May be a Red Sox fan, but NOT much of a Manny fan.

Here's the link to see Manny's new do:

Thank goodness. I miss baseball. Who's staying up at 2 to watch WBC??

Posted by: Rivasfan at March 1, 2006 08:29 PM

I am turely grateful that I get home in time to hear most of the games on the radio.

Posted by: Twinsboy at March 1, 2006 09:30 PM

Click my name to find out your baseball soul mate. At least one of the possible outcomes is our own #48.

Just don't ask me who I got. Really, don't ask. Because I won't tell you.

Posted by: kurtis at March 1, 2006 10:16 PM

Oh, how that picture warmed my heart.

Posted by: Stacy at March 1, 2006 10:23 PM

*faints* Kurtis!! I got Torii!!! still would rather have my boyfriend Joe though. Can't wait to see our guys hit the field. I'm so excited!

Posted by: CapitalBabs at March 1, 2006 11:18 PM

Johan looks as though he is officiating a wrestling match and is really getting into the three count.

Posted by: Ryan at March 2, 2006 06:37 AM

OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY! Life is sweet again!

I was watching some college basketball game on ESPN2 last night and on the bottom line came "Rockies 6, White Sox 1". A baseball score! Happy days! That the White Sox lost, even in spring training, was an added bonus.

My hoped for "week" of down time in Florida to catch spring training has now been reduced to one day, next Wednesday. Reds v Twins, I believe. Can't wait!

Posted by: JimCrikket at March 2, 2006 08:58 AM

I'm taking advantage of the free vouchers from Dairy Queen and going to see the Gophers play Notre Dame Friday night...

Posted by: heraldguy at March 2, 2006 09:06 AM

The boys look so good. I can't wait to go to Spring Training.

Off topic. Bret Boone is retiring. What a surprise.

Some of us are getting together at the Bulldog in Uptown (it's on Lyndale where the Mud Pie restaurant used to be) to watch the game. Should be a good time!

Posted by: infield at March 2, 2006 09:24 AM

Hooray! I got Torii too! But what will my spouse say? 7.5 hours until the game!

Posted by: Jaguar at March 2, 2006 10:29 AM

I can't wait!

Posted by: Salt-Man Z at March 2, 2006 11:30 AM

It's pretty obvious which questions you need to answer "correctly" to get Torii. Kurtis, what did you do wrong?

I'm disproportionately excited about this game, particularly since Gardy says we'll only get 2 innings of butt wiggling.

heraldguy--FYI, the Gophers play Notre Dame on Saturday, Arizona on Friday night. Hope that doesn't skew your ballgame plans. The price is certainly right, no matter who's playing. Plus, you can see what the high priced seats feel like.

Have MLB audio playing Cleveland's spring opener as background music at work. Such sweet sounds!

Posted by: fiesta at March 2, 2006 12:23 PM

Infield - Count me in!

Anyone else?

Posted by: Skorch at March 2, 2006 12:37 PM

fiesta - Doh!!!

That will teach me to actually read the vouchers...

Oh, well, I can still boo Lute Olson tomorrown night

Posted by: heraldguy at March 2, 2006 12:50 PM

Wait a minute... I got Torii too. Is that thing rigged?

Posted by: TwinsGoddess at March 2, 2006 01:04 PM

Hey kurtis - I got Torii too, which is good because he is my boyfriend.

Posted by: talldrinkowater at March 2, 2006 01:44 PM

I got Berry Zito. Not too terribly shabby. 4 more hours till baseball, I hope I get to see Beckett looking all sexy in his new Red Sox uniform. And don't even get me started about Lohse and Arroyo, it's been way too long of an off season for me. 40 MORE DAYS TILL HOME OPENER!!!!!!

Posted by: Mel at March 2, 2006 02:13 PM

Does anyone have Rick Tocchet's number ? I want to see what the line is on tonights Japan/China game.

Posted by: public enemy mike at March 2, 2006 02:35 PM

I saw that play, Santana throws a curve into everyone watching when he falls like that. Where'd the picture come from?

Posted by: insider at March 2, 2006 02:45 PM

The Mariners/Padres charity game is on the radio right now. I can listen to baseball ... all is right with the world.

Posted by: jenninseattle at March 2, 2006 02:49 PM

Kurtis -- Thanks for the heads up.

My, my, my, Torii. Lots of soulmates. Happily, I am one of them.

Did anyone hear how the guys did in their psuedo-opener against Concordia-St. Paul?

Posted by: hrunting at March 2, 2006 02:49 PM

Dear Mr. Insider,

The picture came from Yahoo!. But Batgirl is quite looking forward to more pictures from you.

Sincerely,
BG

Posted by: Batgirl at March 2, 2006 03:18 PM

hrunting, looks like a 2-0 win in a 6-inning game.

I got Derek Jeter. Angela thought it was hilarious. I still feel a little sore about the neck where I tried to hang myself.

Posted by: Kurtis at March 2, 2006 03:40 PM

Kurtis, you and me both.

I feel so dirty (and not the good kind of dirty).

Posted by: QJW at March 2, 2006 03:59 PM

Ya know who's hot. Carlos Silva. He has a nice smile. So is Fransisco Liriano. On other teams Zito, Mulder, Pudge, and GM Theo Epstein

Posted by: Rivasfan at March 2, 2006 05:43 PM

Santana pitching to Coco Crisp. A familiar sight.

Santana giving up a hit to the leadoff man. Not so familiar. Argh.

In other news, Dustan Mohr is hitting cleanup tonight? Welcome back, Dusty!

Posted by: Chris at March 2, 2006 06:07 PM

Batista to Punto to Tiffee! And the side is retired!

Posted by: Chris at March 2, 2006 06:10 PM

Dear BatGirl,

It seems quite obvious that Johan just wanted to be the first to get his pants covered in baseball dust.

Love,
Annun

P.S. Confidential to Manny Ramirez: Dreads are ok, but really, dying them caramel?
