Joe Mauer, Sex Symbol. That girl in the photo is almost as excited as Batgirl on the day of a Johan Santana start.
In more Chairman news, Cities97 talked to him yesterday, and BG thinks his voice has finally stopped cracking. It's so sweet when they grow up. Here's the link.
Here's a pretty hanky-inducing article about the Caravan.
KW, erstwhile BatBack-up blogger and proprietor of Mid Majority, a legendary college basketball blog, will be on 'CCO Friday night at 11:10 pm to talk hoops.
And there's another new Twins blog: Case in the Face.
And, finally, Goober sends another game to pass the time 'til pitchers and catchers report. It helps you practice your swing too (Tony Batista, if you're reading this, take note.) Whack the Penguin.
i'm at 307... but i miss most of the time. and the interview made me so happy. how many days until pitchers and catchers report?
Posted by: Hannah! at January 26, 2006 06:31 PMThat picture of the little girl with Mauer is too damn funny. She looks like she is going to explode.
Die Penguins Die !!!!!
Posted by: public enemy mike at January 26, 2006 06:33 PMThanks for the heads up about the radio interview and the article, Batgirl. I quite enjoyed them. I love Joe even more now. And that girl, she must be doing summersaults in her body. She looks to excited and humbled. It's cute. Hope everyone is as excited for the baseball season as I am. I miss it tons. For all of you going to TwinsFest, have a blast. Take pictures! I'd love to see them as I can't make it. =)
Posted by: Twinsfan at January 26, 2006 06:35 PMThe sad part is that little girl is me, in little girl form I mean.
Posted by: Hannah (the second) at January 26, 2006 06:48 PMWell, it's not really SAD.
Posted by: Hannah (the second) at January 26, 2006 06:49 PM"I'd say they react for me like that mostly because they probably know me a little better since I grew up in the area."
Dear Joe,
You have screaming fangirls all across Twins Territory, not just in MN. Trust me on this.
Innocently,
Annun
mmmmm... joe mauer!
Posted by: kkt at January 26, 2006 08:02 PMIt troubles me that a weird amorphous snowman/polar bear has a greater chance of hitting something out of the park than the entire 2005 twins offense.
Seriously, I think the weird guy doing the penguin could greatly help the offense...too bad he's left-handed.
If we make the entire lineup spend, say, half an hour a day playing whack the penguin, maybe we can get rid of the ass-bats. I hope so, at least...
Posted by: goesboom at January 26, 2006 08:19 PMThat story about the family the Twins visited was really somthing special.
Maybe J Kubel could use the game to get ready for spring training.
Posted by: Twinsboy at January 26, 2006 08:36 PMLovely story about the Twins family - our guys rock!
Oh and if the penguin lands beak first in the snow with it's feet (?)in the air is that ground rule double???
I managed to get one to fly 325 - yay me!
Much Love
Wonder Woman
Ok - I have mastered the art of getting the penguin to land beak first in the snow - I did it 7 times in a row -
Damn games =p

It can't be cruelty if the little fellers say "wheee!" as you sock them deep into the frozen night.
Posted by: The Jack Morris Mutual Admiration Society at January 26, 2006 10:44 PMOh, I love that little girl. She's adorable. That's what being a fan is all about, man.
Posted by: Angela at January 27, 2006 07:58 AMThat's a Yeti, goesboom. For those interested, there are several Yeti/Penguin games.

Posted by: Sendric at January 27, 2006 09:05 AMOops. That didn't work. Sorry...apparently I don't know how to create links in here yet.

Posted by: Sendri at January 27, 2006 09:06 AMThe big question is, will the Yeti accept a minor league contract with an invite to spring training or would we have to put him on the roster?
Posted by: goesboom at January 27, 2006 09:28 AMHeck, I'm 22 and a guy and even I turn into a screaming fangirl on the mere mention of Joe.
