True dat.
Posted by: Stacy at October 6, 2005 07:16 PMThanks Batgirl. This will be the first item on my Christmas wish list. I'm already so baseball deprived that tonight I watched a few innings of the game I recorded on Tivo this past Sunday. I was hoping that my addiction to Sudoka puzzles would get me through the off-season, but now I'm not so sure. Where is a one run loss when you need one?
Posted by: Attyfan at October 6, 2005 08:40 PMNow there is nothing to watch at 7:00
Posted by: Rivasfan at October 6, 2005 09:00 PMI was kinda thinking I could get a lot of stuff done during the off-season. But instead I'm sitting around looking lost and confused, because, as Batgirl so eloquently put it, "The offseason sucks." I will own one of these very soon. These shirts are entirely too perfect.
(May I humbly request a long-sleeve version, so I can wear it in Minnesota during the off-season? Of course, this shirt will also come in handy if we ever have to go through a sucking period during baseball season--to remind us that it could be worse!)
Posted by: Just Beth at October 6, 2005 10:28 PMBut the off-season is the time of free agent signings and interesting trades!
And what trade could be more interesting than sending Justin Morneau to get Corey Koskie?
According to the ESPN Rumor Mill...
Twin spin for Koskie?
Oct 4 - With Aaron Hill on the horizon as the Blue Jays' third baseman, Toronto GM J.P. Ricciardi may consider dealing Corey Koskie to the Twins for first baseman Justin Morneau, the Toronto Star reports.
When asked about Koskie's future, Ricciardi said: "I don't know. If Hill's on our club he's going to have to play every day. ... He may end up being a third baseman here."
Posted by: Pander at October 6, 2005 10:48 PMAnd by the way, the off-season may suck, but the post-season thus far? Excellente!
=D
Posted by: Pander at October 6, 2005 10:49 PMBad news!
Al Newman is leaving to be a scout for Arizona. I just heard it on the Channel 9 news.
*cry*
Posted by: talldrinkowater at October 6, 2005 10:57 PMNewman was always candid and funny on the radio. I'll miss him.
Posted by: Kurtis at October 7, 2005 07:45 AMI agree with JustBeth - a long sleeve version, please. I promise to buy one and pretty much live in it all winter.
Posted by: Ellen at October 7, 2005 08:15 AMHere's a Strib link on the Al Newman story.

Noooo!!
Posted by: Skorch at October 7, 2005 08:31 AMGreat shirt, and I agree 100 percent with the sentiment, but with heating costs going up 73 percent, got to have a long-sleeved version. Preferably in polar fleece as I think that's all I'll be wearing until pitchers and catchers report.
Posted by: PJ at October 7, 2005 09:19 AMSay it ain't so Al, say it ain't so!
Aw man - I'm gonna miss that guy. I liked Newmie. Best 3rd base coach at scooping up ground balls.
Bummer.
Posted by: BadAndy48 at October 7, 2005 09:20 AMyou're right Batgirl, the offseason DOES suck, especially since Newmie's gone.
my memory of Newmie goes back to '90, when i was 10 and he signed my brother's baseball at the first Twins game we ever went to. i was 10, my brother was 12, and we didnt know who Newmie was, so we played catch with the ball and scuffed it all up.
in the winter of 2004 Newmie came down to Rochester on the Winter Caravan, and i got to tell him that story. i wanted to have him sign my ball, but i already got Bert to sign it, and couldnt get 2 autographs. now i'm rethinking that decision.
offseason... booo!
Posted by: TeeNutts at October 7, 2005 10:24 AMMy darlings,
Once again, Batgirl is struck by your wisdom. She has made several long sleeve varieties.
Sincerely,
BG
Dear Mr. Pander,
The Koskie thing is just a weird rumor started by the Canadian papers. You know those crazy Canadians.
Sincerely,
BG
Thank you, Batgirl. Ordering now. :)

Yep, they play good defense at 3rd and hit .275 pretty consistently. :P
