Brilliant! I LOVE it! I'm going to order my T-shirt today, so I'll have it for opening day!
Just fed the kitty. Thanks, BG.
Posted by: Spike at March 21, 2005 09:16 AMYou think they make that BatGirl thong in my size?
Posted by: mmmarkiep at March 21, 2005 09:22 AMmmmarkiep: Yes.
Posted by: Roscoe at March 21, 2005 09:27 AMI am sad to see there is no "Luis Rivas is my boyfriend" shirts, but I LOVE the rest of them.
Knowing I would be the only person to ever buy one, do I have any options? It would be so cool in pink...
Posted by: Say Rah! at March 21, 2005 02:59 PMAsk and ye shall receive.
Holy cats BG - you rule. My order has been placed...
Posted by: Say Rah! at March 21, 2005 03:33 PMBatgirl, you rock! :)
I just bought a Lew Ford shirt and a Santana/Nathan hoodie!:-D And I'll proudly wear both of them around Winona State University! :-D
Posted by: Candace at March 21, 2005 03:41 PMYou are a goddess! I'm definitely gonna invest in the Joe Mauer one soon. And hoodie. Genius!
Posted by: Sam at March 21, 2005 04:14 PMhmm. I asked Mrs. D if she wanted a boyfriend shirt, and her answer was "only if they have Otis Nixon."
She's an old-school loyalist, I tell ya.
Posted by: TD at March 21, 2005 04:26 PMI absolutely love the absurdity that is the "Don't Blame Me, I voted for Santana/Nathan" Infant Creepers and Toddler Ts. I've been stingy, but you're gonna make me buy one for my Darling Daughter, aren't you?
If I were serious, I'd ask for a toddler "Boyfriend" Tee, but my daughter's been smitten with a certain A. Pujols since she's been two months old and we had ESPN but no Fox Sports and got all sorts of NL Central games.
I gotta get a boyfriend for this year. I think, retroactively, that Blanco was mine last year.
Posted by: amr at March 21, 2005 04:28 PMPure brilliance. . .I picked myself up a Justin Morneau is my boyfriend t-shirt. It made me giggle like a school girl.
Can we put in old school requests like "Kent Hrbek is my boyfriend"?
Yes, I know I have a thing for first basemen.
Posted by: HooliganKat at March 21, 2005 04:47 PMAll this reminds me of my favorite TwinsWear sighting of last year -- shortly after the trade, I saw a young woman who'd taped the words "I Still [Heart]" over the "Mientkiewicz" lettering on the back of her Dougie shirt. And really, don't we all?
Posted by: cxpat at March 21, 2005 05:56 PMI think there should be "boyfriend" thongs.
Posted by: kirby at March 21, 2005 06:22 PMBat Girl Your are going to make me broke...
Only if Jesse Crain makes the club...could you then make a shirt in baby blue? I'd probably be the only one to order one... And...if resto makes the cut...Resto is saved!
Ps. I have an insider report on my website on the plague spreading across baseball.
www.bojeesbaseballworld.bravehost.com Its in the front page...if you ever care to link me..go ahead
Posted by: Bojangles Crain at March 21, 2005 06:49 PMDear Mrs. Crain,
Alas, there is no light blue, just white, pink, yellow, and light green.
Woefully,
Batgirl
Bojangles Crain,
Your report was hilarious! Wish I were down there.
Win Twins!
Posted by: talldrinkowater at March 21, 2005 07:47 PMOkay, that's it. Batgirl is pure genius beyond words. I am def. buying a Joe Mauer is my boyfriend and some Don't Blame me souveniers, lol.
Posted by: Stacy at March 21, 2005 09:01 PMBut where is the Matthew LeCroy is my boyfriend shirt? ;)
Posted by: Stacy at March 21, 2005 09:56 PMSad. No BatGirl or Sooz is my girlfriend shirts?
Posted by: mmmarkiep at March 21, 2005 10:39 PMare johan santana boyfriend shirts only in men's style? i'd get a small, but i'm little-ish and i think it might just look silly... so i'm humbly adding another request to this thread- women's jks shirts pretty please?
ps: the shirts? best. idea. ever. (not that i'm surprised, since batgirl comes up with the best. ideas. ever. on a regular basis)
thanks!
I'm still PROUDLY wearing my Santana/Nathan '04 "Sit Down Bitch!" baseball T!!
Posted by: Nordicgrrl at March 22, 2005 08:01 AMBroke out my "Santana/Nathan" shirt yesterday. If you see a guy wearing a Batgirl shirt in a wheelchair it's . . . Me.
Batgirl wear . . . Most addictive habit since heroin.
Posted by: Me at March 22, 2005 08:38 AMBatgirl, you are the best ever. Thanks for the Kent Hrbek is my boyfriend shirt. I unfortunately have to wait until payday to purchase it though.
Darn bills, keeps me from the goodies I really want!
Posted by: HooliganKat at March 22, 2005 12:42 PMWe do need girlfriend Batgirl-wear.
How about - "The female clone of Joe Mauer is my girlfriend." ??
Posted by: simsypoo at March 22, 2005 01:52 PMNo.
Posted by: mmmarkiep at March 22, 2005 03:02 PMHey BG,
Is there any way that you could make some Don't Blame me- I voted Santana/Nathan pins?
Posted by: Stacy at March 22, 2005 04:33 PMDearest Stacy,
I certainly will try it. Give me a few days.
Love,
BG
p.s. I adore Joe Mauer of course, but dude would make one ugly chick.
Posted by: Batgirl at March 22, 2005 05:45 PMWho has GARDY as their boyfriend???????
Posted by: Donnalove at March 22, 2005 06:31 PMDearest BG,
Thanks!:) My mom is dying to get a pin like that, lol.
Thankfully,
Stacy
P.S.- For reference of Mauer as a chick, I believe there are pics of him as one somewhere on here from a ganius story BG did a while ago...hehe;)
Posted by: Stacy at March 22, 2005 06:45 PMNo kidding, I've been sitting on that "(Twins Player) is my Boyfriend" idea for Batgirl Wear all winter, and when I saw the "Feed Me!" button (diabolical, btw) I was thinking that I should suggest it to you, BG. Now I got nothin'... my creative juices are spent! :)
Posted by: frightwig at March 23, 2005 12:36 AMDearest Frightwig,
Clearly, you are a genius, and please forward any and all future marketing ideas straight to Batgirl.
These shirts, I must admit, were dreamed up by She-Ra and Wonder Woman, with the help perhaps of Twins Goddess and Donnalove at our first Batling Outing. To them, I am eternally grateful.
Sincerely,
BG
p.s. I have tried to honor boyfriend requests, including adding shirt styles to existing boyfriends. Please let me know if you have further requests .
Posted by: Batgirl at March 23, 2005 01:07 AM
Donna, I had a moment of genuine indecision when I went online to purchase my "Lew Ford is my Boyfriend" shirt and saw that there was one for Gardy.
He is a man among men and I adore him.
I bought the Lew shirt anyway, but that was before the buttons were added to the shop, and I can't pay $5 shipping for just a button, so I may just have to go back and get me a Gardy shirt.
He is my vice-boyfriend.
Posted by: TwinsGoddess at March 23, 2005 07:55 AMamr,
your daughter has excellent taste, especially for so young.
I am so wishy-washy on boyfriends, I would need a shirt that had whole list of people and one of those pins shaped like a check mark to put next to the favored one for that particular day. (I used to have a shirt like that in the early 90s, except with moods instead of baseball players.)
Posted by: Redbird at March 23, 2005 09:54 AMSomeday, when I have a job, I will adorn myself completely in Batgirl wear. Until then, I will drool over the Don't Blame Me t-shirt, and wish the best for BG's kitties. You all seem to be doing very well for them!
Posted by: Pepper at March 23, 2005 11:43 AMBG, the "Boyfriends" was your concept all along. Clearly I was only receiving waves of Batgirlness from the cosmic collective.
My best advertising idea ever was to sign Michael Jordan to a Kool-Aid endorsement deal, which would have him drink a certain flavor of Kool-Aid before each game and between periods. Of course the Kool-Aid would turn his tongue a bright shade of (purple, green, cherry red, etc.) and every time he drove to the basket with his tongue hanging out would be marketing exposure for Kool-Aid which would show up on TV broadcasts, magazine and newspaper photos, posters of him dunking, etc. Why Kool-Aid didn't think of this themselves, I'll never understand.
On Sunday, I thought of a variation on a smaller scale that could be applied to Matthew LeCroy. You may have noticed him wearing a white sunblock on his lips that afternoon. Well, they said it was sunblock. I wondered if it might have been powdered sugar. You see where I'm going with this? Could there be a better match than Matthew LeCroy endorsing Hostess powdered donuts and snack cakes? Before each at-bat he could take a bite of a Hostess treat, leaving a little residue of sugar or creamy filling on his lips. That's possibly 4 or 5 times a game to promote the product. When he gets to 1st base, he might even pull a crinkly wrapper out of his back pocket and hand it to Jerry White along with his batting gloves. Who wouldn't get a kick out of that?
frightwig, you're a marketing genius.
Posted by: mmmarkiep at March 23, 2005 06:50 PMThank you so very much Bat-girl..You are truly the best in the business!
