In case you missed seeing the BoSox game on Saturday Sunday (and really, what could you possibly have been doing that was more important than that???) we've got your pictures right here, thanks to Dr. Jane and Art from Fort Myers.
From Dr. Jane:

Is this man bothering you, Mr. Ortiz?

Hey, Big Papi, wanna come back and play short?

Alan Embree and Nicky Punto.

Bears gone wild.

That's Willie.

Cuddy, apparently secure in his place on the team, shows off Gardy's rookie card.

So, Joe, how's the knee?

Ouch.

Medic?

I don't know. Someone else think of a caption.
From Art from Fort Myers:

Please don't throw it to me, please don't....

Boom.

Boom.

Papi's new shoes.

Hey! I stole a base! Gardy, did you see? Did you see?

No, really. Medic?
I. Love. Captions.

These photos are almost as good as being there, for those of us who can't manage it in person this year.
Batlings rule. Thanks to all the photographers!

Pssst... BatEditor! If any of us missed seeing the Twins play the Red Sox on Saturday, it's probably because we were busy watching the Twins play the Blue Jays that afternoon.
Posted by: PickNit at March 14, 2005 02:12 PMAs if lovely Batling photos, which are so appreciated by Batlings not able to attend Spring Training, weren't enough, we then get to see the super captions by BatGirl herself.
And I can't top YankeeFan's caption. Beautiful.
Thank you, Dr. Jane and Art!

And don't lie--you all can too.
Posted by: Meghan at March 14, 2005 03:18 PMfrom today's spring training report: "Mays also worked four innings, giving up one unearned run on two hits with a walk."
I like this very much.

Posted by: NIH at March 14, 2005 04:36 PMTorii: Just think about it Shannon...Big Papi would be an awesome short stop
Shannon: Torii...Will you just let it go...Its not going to happen.

I know, not even close to funny enough.
Posted by: YankeeFan at March 14, 2005 05:08 PMDearest Batlings,
As someone who played baseball for 12+ years, and catcher for at least 6, I can assure you that the knee is supposed to bend that way, especially when healthy. It's a good sign :)
Posted by: IcePhoenix at March 14, 2005 07:09 PMThanks to everyone who has sent in pictures. They brighten my day! (Especially since it's about 10 degrees outside right now in Minneapolis.)
I gotta say...Michael Cuddyer. The dimples get me every time.
Alan Embree and Nick Punto...hahaha...
Posted by: Sarah at March 14, 2005 08:12 PMHey Fellow Batlings!
Just thought I'd give you a heads up that I'm getting the chance tommorrow to meet with a member of MLB's government relations office. It appears I'll have a chance to ask a few questions, so I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas. They need to be respectful questions, and I'd like to focus on baseball as it currently deals with government. I'm thinking questions about Steroids (duh! lol) or public financing of stadiums would be good. I just thought I'd ask you fine folks for some suggestions or ideas.
Thanks,
sadgoatboy
Dear Batlings:
How do I submit a spring training photo that a friend sent me?
Has Little Nicky Punto grown some?
Posted by: Stacy at March 14, 2005 09:53 PMPoor Mauer will be out a few more days with a mouth infection. :(
Posted by: Stacy at March 15, 2005 09:16 AMSGB, I wish I had a question for you to ask.
YF, you made ME chuckle.
Lubberhopper (??) You should e-mail BatGirl and await further instructions.
Posted by: mmmarkiep at March 15, 2005 10:09 AMJust popping over from the other side of the fence, as it were, to say hey, nice shots! Lovely to see a blogger mobilizing an extensive network of photographer minions like this, it really is a positive sign for the baseball blogosphere as a whole :)
