Oh, my darlings, Batgirl's got pictures for you. Insider's back and Fargo has sent Batgirl some fabulous shots. A few to whet the appetite today, and then more tomorrow....
From Insider:

If Rod Carew, Tony Oliva, and Paul Molitor can't teach this gang to hit...

Hey, Cuddy, pull the ball, okay? For your Uncle Rod?

Mulholland plays with an invisible ball for, like, hours.
And from Fargo:

Being President is Hard Work.

VP too!

Try being President Pro Tempore!

Hey, for a change, Mauer signs an autograph

Oh, another one!

Here, honey, let me show you how to use that thing.

Huh? Giant Kitty? NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Joe? Um, Joe? Pease...be...careful!

You guys feel old all of a sudden?

I learned to hit with one of these. That's why I'm such a good contact guy.
Tomorrow....BUTT SHOTS!
These pictures are fantastic - as always. It's fun to see the players in less formal situations, horsing around and such. Thye're clearly having fun. Good to see.

Posted by: Just Beth at March 12, 2005 08:34 AMAre they going to start hitting the ball and winning some games anytime soon? Al
Posted by: al at March 12, 2005 10:03 AM"Do you guys feel old?" I wet myself.
Posted by: Neil at March 12, 2005 11:32 AMIt was nice of fargo to take my picture. To bad Justin had to step in the way, but I still got in there.
Posted by: insider at March 12, 2005 11:49 AMWARNING: long overdue, over-the-top criticism ahead (of the first cutline) and probably in the wrong forum
Molitor coached Seattle to its worst. hitting. season. evah. Boy did the Ms stink up the joint. Er, plate, whatever. Unless Moli either figures out that some guys actually don't have raw, natural ability (e.g. he thinks that any batter who makes it to the MLB and falters needs to make only mental adjustments, source: Jim Caple interview) or that entire seasons are not meant to be spent admiring one's own career (e.g. his perpetual HOF victory tour), he'll never be a good coach. By the end of the season, most Seattle batters had turned to Edgar Martinez or other mentors from their pasts (i.e. college coaches, minor league coaches, etc). Not sure who Moli had left in his camp.
P.S. NICE PHOTOS!!!
Posted by: Old Town at March 12, 2005 12:09 PMNice pics Insider and Fargo!!

Posted by: Stacy at March 12, 2005 02:35 PMThose are brilliant! Cant wait for tomorrow...
Posted by: Sam at March 12, 2005 03:17 PMGardy's comment to the VP while he was resting in the outfield " I bet you wish the outfielders could take a nap while you're pitching".
Hey insider, sorry Justin got in the way.
Posted by: Fargo at March 12, 2005 08:10 PMIs Mulholland doing his tai chi?
