Twins Injury Match Game 2.0

injuryTitle.jpg

Now that the Twins have clinched, it's important that we all stay sharp, so Batgirl will be testing your mental mettle over the next two weeks (not to mention her own html skills). So, Batlings, can you match the Twins player (or associate) with the recent injury?

Don't tell me the Twins will have Charlie Brown warming up in the pen for the playoffs. I mean, he did finally get that win, but come on.

However, did you see those Aaron Eling kickoffs on Monday night?

It took several readings to get this right. Initially I had mis-read "C. Bone Bruise on Wrist" to be "Bong Bruise on Wrist", so I naturally matched that one up with Gardy, and the others then didn't seem to fit. My error.

When did Shannon get a concussion?

Angel,

That brutal crash into the bullpen wall on Friday, I'm thinking?

Hey all,
Haven't seen this on here yet, but Eric Neel (who, incidentally, BatGirl made famous by appearing in his column not too long ago) is conducting a poll for Cy Young. Vote early and often :)

Oh the torture! I have such a dilemna! I scored good tickets(considering I am sitting in the cheapest seats in the house) for the Division Series. One problem: If the twins get home field advantage, I can't use them. I can't make the drive to Minneapolis from my humble Sioux Falls, SD if our boys don't play on (or near) a weekend. Do I root against the Twins for my own selfish needs? Do I root for them in games that don't matter and leave myself sitting at home(having wasted $150)? What do I do? I've tried just rooting for Oakland, but that hasn't worked. What do I do?

Shannon crashed into the bullpen wall? People, I depend on you guys to keep me informed. I live in the media black hole that is Des Moines, Iowa.

Angel-
In the first O's game, Stewart stumbled over the bullpen mound and landed hard in the dirt (knees, ribs, face). Missed a couple games.

The only thing you can do, Dear Florida, is relax and let what is to be, be. Rooting one way or the other will only leave you feeling guilty or frustrated, when, in reality, your own wishes will have had no actual effect on the outcome. Instead, consider this: you are in a win-win situation. On the one hand, you may have the wonderful opportunity to see your beloved Twins in the playoffs. On the other hand, if not, your intense disappointment will be tempered, ever so slightly, by knowing that this means your team has gained the home field advantage and therefore, perhaps, a leg up in advancing to the next level. (Remember, the World Series games are guaranteed to be on the weekend at the American League home park!) Plus, I am quite sure you will have no trouble selling those unused tickets.

Posted by: Word Smith at September 23, 2004 11:17 PM

I hope your right, Word, but in the mean time anyone whose interested in two tickets in the forth row of the upper deck in left field can feel free to email me(I'm doubting I'll have much luck selling them here in SD). I would not, under any circumstance, sell them for one cent more than I paid for them and would certainly not sell them if they are weekend games. Regardless, Word Smith, your words are comforting. It is truely a win-win.
