ESPN Page 2's Batgirl-linking sage Eric Neel has a poll. Who do you think should be the Cy Young Award Winner?
Posted by Batgirl at September 23, 2004 05:58 PMOk....How many times do we need to discuss this...Maybe this is why no one has posted yet...OBVIOUSLY ITS SANTANA....If people are still going by wins alone...It will become a tie tommarrow because of Schillings no decision the other night...SO what more do the cy young voters need...Santana will not only be tied with Schilling, he will have better stats and if people still pick Schilling...WTF

Posted by: IcePhoenix at September 23, 2004 06:51 PMDear Mrs. Crain,
Batgirl was too subtle. She is not suggesting people tell HER who the Cy Young should be, for she knows, but rather that they go and tell the nice people at ESPN.
Sincerely,
Batgirl
Dear Batgirl,
This is my first "Season" reading batgirl, and i was just wondering what happens after the twins win the world series? Do you, also, have an offseason? Do you leave us? I hope not.

Posted by: Sasha at September 23, 2004 06:59 PMI would like to apologize for my friend Bojangles. She just feels strongly about the fact that Johan Santana deserves the Cy Young award much more than Mr. Schilling. Please everyone take Batgirl's and vote as much as possible for Johan. Support the Pitching Prodigy. Vote Santana/Nathan '04 all the way!!!!!
Posted by: VoiceOf Reason at September 23, 2004 07:08 PMI forgot the word Advice in my last post. If you can't figure out where it goes, too bad. VOTE SANTANA.
Posted by: VoiceOfReason at September 23, 2004 07:10 PMDearest Sasha,
This is Batgirl's first season, too. Batgirl takes a very long nap during off seasons, the Twins are her raison d'etre and without them there is no d'etring. But she will be back come Spring Training, ready to begin anew.
Love,
Batgirl
"This is Batgirl's first season, too."
So that would make you a candidate for Rookie of the Year? You got my vote.
Posted by: Cyberspud at September 23, 2004 10:40 PMIt may soothe Bojangles to know that Johan is currently leading 70% to 30%, with well over 12,000 votes cast.
I love Eric Neel, but someone needs to tell him how to spell Je ne sais quoi.
"I want to see the A's and the Twins. I want to see Johan Santana and Tim Hudson go heads-up. I want to see Lew Ford and Eric Chavez. I want to see the eye of the press wander away from the northeast, just for a little while."

BatPersons,
Well now, we have a bit of a quandry. For some unknown reason, Schilling is still a Cy candidate. What better way for the BatCommunity to support its presidential nominee than to root for him to lose a game...and badly. Coincidentally, the hated (yet allegedly respected) Yankees are facing him on Sunday. Join me in rooting against Curt Schilling on Sunday.
Also, it is highly likely that your Twins will face those same Red Sox in the first round of the playoffs. Which 'big three' would you like to face:
(1) the masterful Pedro, dominating Schilling, and commanding Wakefield that just steamrolled over the Yankees in preparation for the playoffs; or
(2) the whimpering Pedro, confused (and Cy-Young runner-up) Schilling, and unable-to-find-the-strike-zone Wakefield who were just made to look like A class pitchers by the Yankees?
The choice is clear:
Santana/Nathan '04, Yanks sweep this weekend. Everybody wins.
YankeeFan
P.S. No fair rooting for a 22-21 Boston victory with Schilling giving up 21 runs in 1 1/3 innings :)
Oh, YankeeFan, you see right through me, that is precisely what I am rooting for.

Heheheh.. sure, take away the loop hole.
Posted by: mmmarkiep at September 24, 2004 10:20 AMBatgirl,
Your absence will make the off-season seem that much longer. Will there perhaps be some occasional d'etring regarding important Twins-related announcements (i.e. trades and silly video game-induced injuries and whatnot)?
Snifflingly yours,
She-Ra, P.O.P.
Speaking of our pal Mr. Neel, today he is hosting a poll about the best names in MLB and lo and behold the Twins (past and present)have several nominations: A.J., Doug, Terry Tuffee Tiffee, Augie Doggie, Lew and Johan. Currently none the Twins are winning the contrst at their respective position, although Augie is running a close second. Help celebrate the incredible diversity of Twins nomenclature at:

mn gets 1 more win than oakland.....
mn vs boston--homefield
oakland beats yanks
mn vs oakland--homefield again
homefield AL
a decent possibility and with about the 6th best record of all 8 p'off teams...
sorry, that ain't right...
heard it after golf and many beers and didn't bother to make sure..
Yet another poll! And Johan is burying the competition.
