My darlings,
Please forgive Batgirl's silence. It turns out taking care of a baby is a lot of work. Dash is doing wonderfully, and very much enjoying listening to the Twins on XM, though he remains slightly concerned about, you know, the pitching and the hitting, though he thinks everything else sounds a-okay. He is also disappointed to learn that thanks to MLB's new, exclusive, screw-the-customer deal with DirectTV, he won't be able to watch the games this year, and is slightly confused about why MLB would want to deny customers the chance to view the product, but he's just a preemie.
Speaking of, Batgirl has become rather aware of issues of preemies lately and will be walking in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica. If anyone would like to sponsor her and make a donation to March of Dimes, Batgirl would be endlessly grateful. You can sponsor Batgirl online here. For BabyDash! For preemies! For America!
Posted by Batgirl at March 8, 2007 03:35 PMHappy to donate, Batgirl. For BabyDash. For karma. For itemized deductions.
Posted by: twayn at March 8, 2007 07:35 PMI already do the walk for my own reason, but glad to give moral support. Great, great cause!
Posted by: Scrap at March 8, 2007 07:38 PMWhat an adorable baby! Glad things are going well.
Posted by: Nora at March 8, 2007 08:33 PMI lurve that photo. Just sayin.'
Posted by: FordHoiberg at March 8, 2007 08:59 PMAgain, Dash seems to have grown in cuteness. I love it!
Posted by: TwinsPrincess at March 8, 2007 09:15 PM*gushes* aaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww you have such an adorable baby :)
Due to being born with multiple birth defects, I was the poster child for March of Dimes when I was very young, so I applaud you for taking part in the cause :).
Posted by: Becky at March 8, 2007 09:18 PMBatgirl we've missed you! Batbaby is such a cutie!
Posted by: melissa at March 8, 2007 09:40 PMOhhhhh . . . he is completely huggable!
Posted by: Bring Back Reboulet at March 8, 2007 09:43 PMBG, that is one hopelessly adorable baby. I hope the BatKitties aren't too jealous!
Once it is not late at night and I am more than semiconscious, the Jlubby/CarrieICL household will be happy to make a donation. For wrath! For ruin! For a red... no, wait, confused... for preemies! Oh, and extra base hits!
Posted by: CarrieICL at March 8, 2007 11:34 PMI'm in. I added XM this year as well. I am so happy to hear that you will keep the local red sox evilness away from Baby Dash.
fwiw The NFL get away with a dish only package. I can't see how they can stop Darth Selig from doing the same thing.
p.e.m.
Posted by: public enemy mike at March 8, 2007 11:36 PMGreat Baby pic.
Batgirl - I sent you an email with an option for watching the Twins. Slingmedia.com it works, its cheap, its even legal!
I should work for their PR dept.
Take care
Posted by: Moe at March 9, 2007 04:13 AMI'm happy to make a donation to the March of Dimes on behalf of your beautiful baby and preemies everywhere.
Posted by: Attyfan at March 9, 2007 04:52 AMI will definitely be making a donation.
Dash is so cute!!
Posted by: Stacy at March 9, 2007 08:32 AMIf you keep this up, Batgirl, the A and W keys on our keyboards are going to wear out. He's darling.
My brother was born with a minor birth defect, so March of Dimes is an important charity in our family. I'll be happy to help out.
Posted by: Redbird at March 9, 2007 10:27 AMWhat a face!
What are his stats now, BG? Length, weight, etc?
Posted by: BAT bandwagoner at March 9, 2007 12:49 PMDash just gets more dashing every day!!
Great line Bubblemint and true...
It looks like the village idiot (Selig) will offer MLB extra innings to other carriers but at a higher rate according to todays USA Today. I will wait and see...

Is it too early to suggest "Dash for Commish"?
Gwynn KNOWS he understands these issues better than whoever's in there right now....
Posted by: Piranhtachew at March 9, 2007 06:50 PMAdorable is the only word I could think of when I saw that pic. Good to hear from you BG.
8lbs, It's going to be hard to keep this one in clothes ;-)
Now, twins let's get sassy and win some games!
BG, that sounds like right about the right weight and length to be for when he was SUPPOSED to be entering the world so he's seems on target... *laugh*
but that is one very alert little dolly ou have there. Sooooo gorgeous... :jealous:
Posted by: CapitalBabs at March 9, 2007 10:22 PMLegoVision for 2007? PLLLLEEEAAAASSSSEEEE! :D
MLB announced that the "Extra Innings" package will be non-exclusive to Direct TV. This gives the option to In-Demand (Cable) and Dish Network to match a similar deal with EI as Direct TV to show EI on their channels.
Posted by: Pickles at March 9, 2007 11:24 PMBG, I'm a total idiot and have no excuse! I'm also a Twins fan and dang proud of it! Dash is awesome...as is BG! Alas, with Zen vision, my Twinkies will always be rockin' my "kokoro."
Count me in and Go Twins!
Posted by: Driftwood at March 9, 2007 11:40 PMWhat a sweet sweet baby. Makes me wish my little one was still that small. Babies are truly a blessing.
MLB and did say that the deal did not have to be exclusive but also said that InDemand had to meet the same offer that Direct TV did.
It's not a money issue, the last counter offer from InDemand was for more money but the issue is with the MLB channel in 09. Direct TV is going to be a minority partner and place it on their basic service. Cable wants to place it on a sports package.
As I understand it, if it goes on the basic plan that would pretty much guarentee rates going up, for a channel that really only baseball fans would watch (especially in the off season) Cable unlike MLB would prefer not to be unfair in this one instance.
So don't hold your breathe for an 11th hour save from cable and don't believe the spin from MLB. If you are a Extra Innings sub and can't get it this season it's MLB and Bud's fault. At least that's my take.
Posted by: cal at March 10, 2007 11:28 AMCurt Schilling has a blog - yippee. Anyhoo not normally something that would interest me but he does mention his start against the Twins in this post -
