Well, the Batgirl ticket didn't do very well yesterday. Not a single Twin was elected to public office, except for Luis Rodriguez's suprise appointment to the soil and water board. Nonetheless, the Chairman's goodwill tour of Japan is going extremely well, as his bat spreads its benevolence all over the land of the rising sun.

Thanks to Mets Grrl for the picture.
Meanwhile, Batgirl is reeling from the devestating news that Britney and Kevin are divorcing. If those two kids can't make it in this crazy world, what hope is there for you and me?
Posted by Batgirl at November 7, 2006 11:52 PMwho's Britney? I'll just go back to my Dickens I suppose

Posted by: Dan in London at November 8, 2006 01:35 AMThose creepy foam lights always freaked me out while I was over in Japan-land.. Cool picture of Joe. As far as Brit/whassisface Does this really surprise anyone? It's sad even in her home-state people shun her(lived there also.) Who did happen to win the ticket of BG voting?
Posted by: Tux at November 8, 2006 03:28 AMIs Joe wearing black loafers with jeans? The boy needs a handler/sylist. I happily volunteer.
I think the Chairman looks fine - I wear black shoes/loafers with my jeans and I personally think I'm quite stylish - =) maybe I'm like Elaine -Am I not as attractive as I think I am - LOL
The Chairman does look gigantic in that picture for some reason
Well last night at dinner we were trying to fingure out who Britney could date after this whole K-Fed travesty - we couldn't think of anyone - poor girl
Oh and really no LOST for weeks after tonight's fall cliff hanger finale - I'm bummed
Happy post election day =)
Much Love
Wonder Woman
"LOST"? What a great title! I can't follow any of it! -Family Guy
As far as Brit-Fed... Well, at least they didn't ruin anyone else's lives by having children or anything.
Posted by: Flip at November 8, 2006 09:14 AMWas I shocked by Brittany's divorce--NO
But I was really shocked to see that the Deadskins worst draft pick ever Heath Shuler won a seat to Congress!!! What is this world coming too??????
Whats Lost????????????

Posted by: DAM-DC Twins Fan at November 8, 2006 10:06 AMThis may be the stupidest question asked, but is the Chairman really in Japan? If he is, that's nice of him to spread his hotness to the rest of the world!
Posted by: L.H. girl at November 8, 2006 10:42 AMl.h. girl, yes Joe really is in Japan for some MLB stars series against the Japan stars. The MLB stars have swept Japan in the five game series which no team has ever done.
Posted by: anon at November 8, 2006 11:22 AMI heard that there was a team back in the days of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig that swept a 17-game series against Japan in 1935...
Posted by: FH at November 8, 2006 12:50 PMHey Wonder Woman! I'm sure you rock the jeans/loafers combo like no one else. I think Joe's feet are just so far away from the rest of him, it just looks odd for some reason. And, of course, I'm just hoping he takes me up the offer to be his stylist. Can you picture it? "Nope that's not quite right. Take it off and try this one on instead. Nope. Now this one. Nope. Now this one."
I'm bummed about the lack of Lost after tonight too. But! I've recently started watching Heroes which is comparable in quality to Lost, so I'll have that as solace.
Posted by: Beth at November 8, 2006 12:52 PMHi All,
Long time no post
Brit and K-Fred ending, shocking, I now wonder who will put the car up on blocks on the front lawn?
Nice to see the chairman walking around. Nice picture
Oh and since this is a Twins site amongst other things...
Does anyone think there is a chance the Twins will try to bring back Mark (Cy Young vs the Twins) Redman back to fill a pitching slot?
I don't think the Twins do the break up / make up thing with players but just checking what people think.
Hope everyone is doing well. How the heck did it get to be November already?
Much love
Cal
I'm *still* keeping my Santana/Nathan and other B-G Party stuff up in protest. :p
Posted by: Piranhtachew at November 8, 2006 01:59 PMWhile Johan didn't win any public office, he did win an election of sorts. He was voted Outstanding AL Pitcher of the Year in the annual Players Choice Awards. Justin Verlander was Outstanding AL Rookie. Frank Thomas got the nod for AL Comeback Player of the Year. And Jermaine Dye won AL Outstanding Player. If I had a million dollars for every time I said I'd like to have Jermaine Dye on my team this year, I would have enough money to actually buy a team. You can read all about the awards on MLB.com.
As for Britney, she remains a complete enigma to me. She's got two X chromosomes, she's got 35 million dollars, and yet she doesn't seem to own a single pair of shoes. At least she's finally shedding the one heel she does have.
Posted by: twayn at November 8, 2006 04:20 PMWhy do I feel like that picture is not photoshopped? All Star Game, anyone? I had that picture of him and Scott Kazmir with their video cameras at the Home Run Derby as my desktop for about two weeks. He's kind of a dorky tourist sometimes, which is why we love him.
Soil and Water Board...my best friend's dad won that seat in our hometown yesterday. There were two seats open. Two men ran. It was a tight race.
Posted by: Erin at November 8, 2006 04:56 PMheh, I'm noticing a trend.. if you were a late '90's/early '00's pop princess, you should not have a reality TV show.. you will end up getting divorced. Cases in point: Brit and K-Fed, Nick and Jessica..
So if you see Mandy Moore or Christina Aguilera tell them to just say NO to reality TV!
I voted for Joe last night. can't remember what office, but I'm sad to say he didn't win it.
Posted by: kafumbly at November 8, 2006 07:46 PMHave to say the players did real well with the Players Choice Awards. Hard to argue with any of the choices.
Hope you are all voting for the many Twins showing up in the "This Year in Baseball" Awards. If nothing else, go and watch the videos. Watching the highlights for Joe-Joe and Justin made me remember all the great, great memories that the sad end of the season maybe made us forget. Go, watch, and smile. IT WAS A GREAT YEAR!
First of all, it's nice to see the Chairman again. I love what he's wearing, even if it ISN'T stylish. Anyway, going to Japan sounds like fun. Also, I really don't care about Britney Spears. She's an idiot. Does anyone else know what's special about today? It's LNP's birthday! He's 29 years old today. I wish him a very happy birthday.
Posted by: TwinsPrincess at November 8, 2006 08:19 PMI had the fortunate opportunity to watch the Joes at the MLB/NPB All-Star Game #3. The Chairman's homerun was beautiful. So was staring at his fine ass as he warmed up before the game...
His touristy nature is cute. Why couldn't I have run into Joe on the Tokyo streets so as to declare my Minnesota-born love for him?! Ugh.
Posted by: drivethru at November 8, 2006 10:11 PMMan I had to search forever for this pic... But I think Mauer has made much progress in the style dept.
Posted by: SH at November 8, 2006 11:26 PMso tall, he's like... godzilla.
Posted by: Say Rah! at November 9, 2006 07:11 AMLOL, SH. Yes, well, we've all made progress in the style department since high school. At least one hopes so.
Posted by: Beth at November 9, 2006 08:32 AMHumorous article from USA today (click on my name) on why Santana might not win the Cy Young (and, incidentally, why he was not on "the ticket" for Tuesday's vote).
Posted by: Stacie at November 9, 2006 03:06 PMPadres pitcher Chris Young has an mlb blog with a couple more pictures of the Chairman in Japan. (Click my name for the link.)
Posted by: Amanda at November 9, 2006 04:35 PMWang over Halladay for second place??? and people also overlook sabathia for third place. That is a disgrace.
Posted by: SH at November 9, 2006 06:37 PMIf you are famous, you shouldn't marry someone else who is famous. That is...if your goal is to stay married. The few Hollywood marriages that seem to make it long-term are those in which only one of the two are famous.
Posted by: BAM at November 9, 2006 08:00 PMAnd the National Daily Comic Book's case "against" Blahbbity blah winning against The Doc.
I can a good case for the Doc winning.
Teammates:
Blah: A - Fraud, Wigglebat, and Giambi. Blah *has* to bail his ass-mates out.
Doc: Chairman, Sweetcheeks, and Piranhta. Doc bails his teammates out, and they do the same for him. Symbiotic and Twinning. :)
Thus, as we can clearly see, Doc should get it.
Posted by: Piranhtachew at November 9, 2006 10:39 PMNo Brit and Kev, what will the world do? Who will we now laugh at and make fun of?!
