Who is more little? LNP or David Eckstein?
Posted by Batgirl at October 24, 2006 06:49 PMX es el más pequeño, pero no mucho.
Posted by: Lynnie at October 24, 2006 07:19 PMof course its little nicky punto! who could be shorter than him???
Posted by: Kelly at October 24, 2006 07:31 PMLNP es pequeño.

Wonder Woman
hey guys, I was trying to get some ideas for halloween so I searched some costume websites.
click on my name...
isn't that what they made sideshow wear? like that exact outfit?
now we know where our boys shop.
no hablo Español!
ich denke, daß Herr Eckstein am kleinsten ist. aber Herr Punto ist netter.
Posted by: kafumbly at October 24, 2006 08:48 PMLNP est le plus petit et le plus meilleur!!!!
Posted by: Melissa at October 24, 2006 09:30 PMhay un gato en mis pantalones.
Posted by: kalarson at October 24, 2006 10:10 PMDavid Eckstein is the smallest man in professional baseball.
Posted by: Kurtis at October 24, 2006 10:46 PMDavid Eckstein is a hobbit. Mr. Met's head is bigger than David Epstein.
Posted by: Mets Grrl at October 24, 2006 10:46 PMIvan Rodriguez esto en muchos de dolor.
Posted by: Kurtis at October 24, 2006 10:50 PMhmm... Height-wise it could be a toss-up - I'm really not sure.
But I do have to say that I think that our little LNP has the advantage of musculature on Eckstein though. Nicky's legs are like tree trunks and he definitely has junk in the trunk! *wiggles eyebrows*
Eckstein is just little all the way around - short and skinny.
Posted by: CapitalBabs at October 24, 2006 10:58 PMI thought this was already discussed.
punto 5'9
eckstein 5'7
i could benchlift eckstein.
Posted by: SH at October 24, 2006 11:03 PMand nicky punto isn't of abnormally short height. there are plenty of others out there in the MLB at 5'9. marcus giles, brian roberts, pudge, tejada, ichiro, etc...
Ok those guys are all pretty little, but I think eckstein stands alone at 5'7, if he even is at least 5'7 which I doubt. he's like a good two heads shorter than pujols.
It isn't just about height. LNP 比较小一点
LNP is, of course, Little Nicky Punto. Must be more little than a guy named David.
...Oh wait, is he the guy that slayeth Carlos (Goliath) Beltran.
I fear the question stands...

Posted by: SH at October 25, 2006 12:33 AMOh god, another World Series with David Eckstein.
Posted by: Ryan Pitman at October 25, 2006 01:03 AMLNP esta mas pequeno only when half-eaten, and that's usually for mere milliseconds since he is such a quick snack.
Posted by: TD at October 25, 2006 01:31 AMAre the Batkitties in charge of making sure the Piranhtas aren't eaten?
Ecks can go where others can't - like Tiny Superhero does -That's why Ecks is on so many WS rosters. ;)
Posted by: Piranhtachew at October 25, 2006 04:07 AMMy only question is, "Does X mind his *shoes* getting dirty?" It looks as though X is also carefree about dirt on the pants.
Did someone airbrush the dirt off Carlos' pants? They seem somewhat soil-free...
Aha! The Gambler removed it! THAT's what was on the thumb.
Posted by: Piranhtachew at October 25, 2006 04:16 AMAll I can say is, when you're standing in the batter's box and you're shorter than Mauer is in his crouch...
Posted by: dlarso01 at October 25, 2006 07:21 AM" Please note, image basically to scale. "
basically. heh.
Posted by: Say Rah! at October 25, 2006 07:56 AMI'll have to echo Babs, here. LNP is not as small as Eckstein.
Posted by: FH at October 25, 2006 08:31 AMare you really saying batkitty is bigger than Eckstein?
are you sure?
Posted by: dan in london at October 25, 2006 09:22 AMok long day, I should have said smaller, only makes sense that way
sorry
Posted by: dan in london at October 25, 2006 09:23 AMWhitey Ford, who won 704 games for the Yankees was only 3 feet tall.
Posted by: al at October 25, 2006 10:20 AMWhitey Ford, who won 704 games for the Yankees was only 3 feet tall.
Posted by: al at October 25, 2006 10:21 AMsupposedly Eckstein rounds up to 5'7" --- there was an entertaining piece years ago by Jim Caple on the subject of the smaller ballplayer:
http://espn.go.com/mlb/columns/caple_jim/1411282.html
Posted by: msb at October 25, 2006 11:04 AMThe group of middle aged ladies seated along the first base line last night were the Carpenter aunts.
Posted by: al at October 25, 2006 11:15 AMChone Figgins is actually the smallest man in baseball. I looked it up. Seriously, I did a lot of research. But Eckstein is smaller and ALMOST as cute as my boyfriend.
Posted by: Erin at October 25, 2006 03:34 PMAl,
I don't get your joke, even when you repeated it. Whitey's biography lists him as 5'10". Please elaborate.
- Kurtis
Posted by: Kurtis at October 25, 2006 05:47 PMYou know, I think David Eckstein actually tries to make himself look even smaller by wearing clothes that are too large. His pants aren't bad, but everything from the waist up seems about two sizes too big. I think he is trying to make himself more amazing than he really is.
David Eckstein, you may be playing in the World Series right now, but you are NOT A TINY SUPERHERO. You are NOT LNP, so please start wearing a uniform that fits, because WE ARE NOT FOOLED!
Posted by: Carmen at October 25, 2006 06:03 PMI'm just imagining an All Pequeno team with bfLNP, X and Figgins...Wagner would totally be the closer...
But since it's all about the Tigers/Cards right now...Eddie Gaedel, anyone?
Posted by: BAT bandwagoner at October 26, 2006 10:59 AMIt was an accidental repetetion,Kurtis, and it was merely hyperbole; he also did not win 704 games. Yo-Yo Davalillo at 5:3, 140 was the smallest player I could find, and he played for the pre-Twin Senators in 1953, hit .293, with one extra base hit, broke his leg, and never played again.Hack Wilson, who hit 56 homers one year for the Cubs was 5:6.,but weighed 3oo lbs.
Posted by: al at October 26, 2006 11:48 AMpart of the problem with determining all of this is the variance between 'baseball height' and 'real height'. For example, Chone Figgins ranges from 5'7" to 5'9" ...
Posted by: msb at October 26, 2006 02:23 PMYes, Eddie Gaedel; "One-day Eddie", all 3' 7" of him: http://espn.go.com/mlb/s/2001/0816/1240553.html
With a strike zone even smaller than Joe Brinkman's...
Eh, he's still bigger in stature than LNP.
Al, the shortest person to play MLB was Eddie Gaedel, who was 3'7". He had one at bat and drew a walk. If you sense a Veeck behind that stunt, you are correct. Click my name for the story.
No wonder Eckstein wanted to play in St Louis. He wanted to pay homage to the archetypal dimunitive ballplayer.
Posted by: Kurtis at October 27, 2006 07:34 AMKurtis, I was not counting publicity stunt Veeckisms in my search. Davilillo was a real player, who played multiple games without having to worry about a sniper in the crowd ready to take him out if he swung at a pitch. He was a real candidate for a starting job in '54 if he had not broken his leg. Now, he is remembered as Vic Davilillo's "little" brother.
Posted by: al at October 27, 2006 10:42 AM"Es facil - "X" es mas pequeno pero LNP es mas hermoso en mi opinion."
Wonder Woman,
I TOTALLY agree. X es muy pequeno. He's only two inches taller than I am!
Posted by: TwinsPrincess at October 28, 2006 05:01 PMok i think that some of u are ruining the fun of it. this is just to pick on little nicky punto. not to say well other people are shorter and that he isnt shorter than most. its just for us to laugh at not for us to be like well acually... so just shut up!
Posted by: Kelly at October 29, 2006 02:43 PMwho could be shorter than LNP!?!?! besides my sister! because she has little man syndrome!!
