Really? did you really? last time I checked it was a split 3-3. Omg I hate the yankees so much I almosted wanted to lose today to boston to delay their clinch. Almost, but I'll take a torii 3 run homer anyday.

I have to agree with this assessment right here. Sweetcheecks helped Boof get a win he clearly deserved this fine evening. I LOVE THIS!

so i was watching the game on gameday, because that's all i can do in st. louis, and when cuddy and justin were on the corners and torii came up, i said to my computer, "a three run homer would be wonderful about now."

then it taunted me, telling me that the first pitch was in play, a run-scoring play, but not telling me what happened. could it be a sac fly? could it be grounding into a double play that scored a run anyway since there were no outs?

no no. it was, in fact, a three run homer. i love this team.

I'll be wearing my Twins hat on the commuter train to Boston tomorrow AM. I'm hoping that some disgruntled Sox fan will offer me tix to that evening's game. Stranger things have happened, not that any come to mind.

You know what I love most about Batgirl? Her promptness. No, I love her sass more, but her timely posts are especially fantastic.

Torii absolutely crushed that ball. I think it actually went over the Volvo sign on its way out of the park. And Boof has my vote for #2 starter in the playoffs. There was a Boston fan behind home plate tonight on FSN- grimacing palm to forehead- just as Torii made contact. Hope a pool photographer caught that.

I was a scoffer- no way he could do it or even come close, but that was 3 days ago, and now he has 14 in the team's last 47 games. That is like 48 a year pace/wise. He won't drive in 100, but he will hit 30, and that is amazing. In his storied career never a streak like this before has he. As to the 100 part, in a few days I may have second thoughts there too.It reminds me of the long ago time when I loved the guy all the time, or almost.

Pop Quiz

Were I to start humping (because that is the word of the day!) Torii's leg, what would happen?

Like I said in one of my blog entries... his late season playing makes us all forget his shortcomings earlier on and how he liked to ground into double plays. I love forgetting. When Torii is your BF, you forgive and forget. I want to remember Torii getting 30 homeruns this season.

As for Herr Cheeks, what can I say? Just when I'm ready to see the Twins jettison the guy, just when I've seen the last hit-into-DP I care to witness from Mr. Hunter's bat, just when I've subjected the fine BG readers to a number of tirades on the subject, he goes on a tear like this. Come on, Torii - can't you just hit like this all the time? It would make my life much simpler. However, despite my chagrin, I'll try to find a way to deal with the frustration.

Torii is definitely BOD, no argument there. But me thinks Mr. Neshak needs a BOI (boyfriend of the inning), or some other little "hooray!" for that strikeout of Lowell when the Bosox had two on and two out with the tying run at the plate. Did you see the look on that poor guy's face after he swung at that last pitch? He had no prayer; priceless.
