"Punto led off the inning with a single and took off to steal second base with one out. The Devil Rays pitched out, and catcher Josh Paul's throw to shortstop Julio Lugo easily beat Punto to the bag. Punto, however, stopped several feet short of the base and was able to dodge Lugo's tag attempt and dive into second."

Man, I wish I'd seen that. It's like a little-league play, but he tried it anyway and it worked! Hooray, Tiny Super Hero!!

I think Cuddy's going to go on another tear, now that he's a (temporary) official Team BG boyfriend and is actually going to get some love from the BODSHC.

hrunting-- it was a thing of beauty. Cause of much laughter and cheering at the Dome. LNP was in fine form, diving headfirst into bases and just being LNP. But that play was priceless.

Neshek wowed the crowd, too. Everyone in our section kept asking "who is that?" and by the end of the inning he pitched, people were saying his name and standing and cheering for him.

I can't wait to get home and fastforward to that inning. I bet it's gonna be great to watch LPN show off his superhero moves.

By the way someone here has said that they are missing games on their dish mlb package. I got the mlb package on digital cable and they have shown almost every game. (in April the Twins were never on thurs. for some reason)

The game wasn't on FSN today though. I listened to it on AM radio, which is severely underrated. I need satellite television I guess.

I have always loved Nick Punto, even before I loved Joe Mauer. I think I need to declare him my boyfriend. Who can resist a Tiny Superhero?

Sign of a great team: when your ace is struggling and gives up some runs, you go out in the bottom of the inning and score some more runs and give him a chance for a win.

Sign of a great pitcher: when your team gives you the lead, you come back out and mow down the next three batters.

I'm loving this.

Okay, now I am really happy. It was so fun listening to the game on the radio, watching the She-cago game on tv with the sound off (the only way to watch a sox game). The only thing better than my Michael's two RBI hits was seeing him get his just reward. Thanks BG and special thanks to Sooz for picking him as her DL boyfriend. I smell October.....

'After watching the Twins give him the lead, Santana came out and pitched a perfect sixth.

"He knows what to do with a lead," Gardenhire said. "I'll tell you that."

That is for sure!

Even better? The sign of a truly great pitcher is in the postgame interview, he knows where to give the credit too...

Today, I heard him say that this was a team win and that it's great when one guy is struggling that the rest go out there and pick him up. And we know who the guy struggling was..

What is great about Johan is even when he is pitching lights out but the team can't get the win for him he doesn't get mad, he still says the same thing. It's a team game, and everyone needs to contribute for a team to win, not just him.

He is such a team player and a leader on the team.

Punto avoiding that tag was brilliant. He seemed very close to getting called out for running outside of the basepaths, but I suppose when you're that small it's hard for the ump to tell. The look on Julio Lugo's face afterwards was priceless.

But in the spirit of things: Pat Neshek pitching is fun to watch, and only LNPTS can steal second on a pitch-out. And the Doctor's two fielder's choices? Only the Devil Rays know why they weren't two double-plays, but I'm not complaining.

If one were to go back a couple years, it would appear he was *my* Michael, before Beth declared her justifiable devotion. But when it comes to "Twins" boyfriends, I lovingly share. I just have never understood why the rest of the world would love someone else.
