Yay for Kyle not blowing the shutout. Yay for Liriano getting a career-high 12 K's. Yay for BFs 2 and 3 hitting back-to-back in the second and third spots and doing a helluva job at it. Yay for the Doc getting 21 dingers before the All-Star break. Yay for the Turnaround of the Year. I heart these boys.

Tomorrow he doesn't, after the twins play their 82nd game, and if my math is right, Liriano's pitched 81.2 innings, so he won't qualify tomorrow. So it'll be Liriano and Santana at the top of the ERA leaderboard tomorrow.

It also says Kubel got support for rookie of the month, but doesn't say if he was second or not. I really want to find out. Link is by clicking my name (I think...). It's on MLB.com in any case
Posted by: Shane at July 2, 2006 04:38 PMI'm beginning to think "The Kid" just ain't the right long-term nickname for Liriano. He doesn't *pitch* like a kid, and the way opponents are coming up to bat with the sudden urge to pee ain't kid-like either.
Perhaps we should call him "Dog Trainer."
As in: "Batter - SIT."
And they meekly obey.

Laurel Krahn, I like “Franchise” too and bradki gave the name to him, kind of cool seeing as it is liriano rookie year, and *Sniff* maybe Brad's last year (If he keeps going like this I hope not).
