B.O.D.

If you, like Batgirl, have wasted any part of your life watching The Apprentice, you find yourself all-too-familiar with the phrase, "Step up to the plate." In fact, the only business principles BG has learned from the show is a) Step up and b) Stop obsessing about the #@$!&$ Bedazzler. And now that we have run Johan Santana through the Xerox machine and we're running him out twice every turn through the rotation, we have an outside shot here, and we need the other guys to show us what they've got. And the amazing thing is, suddenly, they have. Boof, Carlos, Bradke—we wouldn't be above .500 right now if they hadn't bedazzled us, or at least stepped up. Brad wasn't perfect, and BG covered her eyes any number of times, but he always seemed to be able to coax out the ground ball, the strikeout, the pop up when he needed to. Seven shut out innings for someone who appeared to be cooked a few weeks ago to give us the sweep and confidence in our #2 guy makes you, Brad Radke, the Boyfriend of the Day. Your turn, Jackal.

Bedazzler ... Xerox ... too funny, BG!

Yaya for Brad! And how bout L-rod getting out the boom-stick?

Posted by: Twinsboy at June 25, 2006 04:10 PM

Brad was Rad today. It's nice to see him coming back around. Congrats on the BOD honors! More congratulations to Torii and Rex for the dingers! Lew with a nice catch, NBP with a nice throw, LNP with a nice head-first slide... it was a good day.

Gotta say, though, one of my favorite bits was Bert's "octagon." That was horrendous, and Dick made fun of him quite a bit for it. Loved it.

yay!Radke rocked today.

Young Fordwalker will reveal himself as the BOD soon enough!

Brad definately gets this one. He settled down a lot after some early roughing up.

Honorable mention to Sierra for starting up the scoring. And then getting one of the most bizzare singles you'll ever see.

What's really crazy about it, I can picture White in the dugout thinking: "OH come one. I hit a laser and the third baseman backflips to catch it, and Sierra pops up and it lands for a hit."

Alas BG, even Jacob's awesome recaps couldn't keep me invested in The Donald's exploits this season.

I am, however, still fully invested in YOUR awesome recaps and these Twins' exploits!

That was, indeed, enjoyable viewing.

I liked the 'Eyre brothers pre-game photo shoot' highlight in the late innings. Did anyone else notice that Joe Nathan was taking their picture? He had on a muscle-tee and that looked mighty nice on him I must say. Oh, the Eyre brothers looked nice too. Glad they both got to pitch since their family was all in town.
Yay Bradke - trying not to finesse the strikes quite so much has actually resulted in more strikeouts and far fewer dingers - good for him! (and us!)

13 of 15, nice. Bradke's line, awesome.

But 30 years of being a professional stick-in-the-mud forces me to remind folks: This was the Cubs. Who gave us, oh, about 32 outs instead of the requisite 24. And who, whether it's the curse of the goat of just AAA hitters masquerading as major leaguers, they specialize in LOB ...

Joe Nathan in a muscle tee???? of all the days to miss the pregame.. d'oh!!

*my apologies to MRS Nathan for the drool - honestly, I can't help myself*

It is great to see our pitchers putting up the zeros out there though... *Smile* Way to BRADKE! and my backup boyfriend hit his 2nd homer!! nice.

It is nice to be a Twins fan right now.

tqd,

That's what baseball is all about...beating the teams you're supposed to and giving the other teams a run for their money. Who cares if it was just "the Cubs"! We swept!!!! Hooray!!!!

Now...when is someone going to step up and hand the Tigers and BSox a loss?!? Please!

I love the Apprentice (and TWoP!) so much. In case anybody hasn't seen it yet:

There is a great article about Torii on ESPN.com and how his days as a Twin might be numbered/might not be numbered (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=2498138&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab2pos2).
It's time to start a campaign to keep Torii in the Twin Cities. We need him, he is the face of this franchise. He put us on the map. No one has played a better center field in the last 10 years, for the Twins or elsewhere!
Torii we need you, lets get behind him!

tqd, I don't think it being the Cubs had that much to do with it. In case you forgot, this whole streak really got rolling during a sweep of the Red Sox, not to mention starts by Schilling, Clemmens, Oswalt, Prior...amoung others.

FINALLY someone beat the White Sox. Thank you, 'Stros, even if you had to make us wait through the inevitable Sox comeback and 13 innings to do so. Now, go beat up on the Tiggers.
