There's been some grumbling out there. And don't think I haven't heard it. Some people think that Cuddles, with his dimples and grand slams, is being discriminated against on account of his hitting so well in our losing efforts. To which I say: "Waah." Other people say, "that Mauer kid seems to be leading the league in just about everything from sideburns to aw shucks, so why does he only have four BODs?" To which I say: "Too bad so sad." And yet, the giant super-computers in the batquarters chug along, and spit our their irrefutable findings, and another B.O.D. is named. Justice? Probably not. But Justin? You bet. Thanks for the timely dinger, Doc, because that makes you the Boyfriend of the Day.

Posted by Goober at June 17, 2006 09:58 PMMethinks the good Doctor is really gonna start jackin em out and winnin B.O.D. very very often just cause he likes being the # 1 B.O.D and cause this young upstart Kubel is showin some kick ass power too. And he wants everyone to know that no one does it like the Good Doctor. Lots of ass kickin and bitch sittin downin by the Boys this past week or so. Aint it great????????
Posted by: Todd at June 17, 2006 10:47 PMDear Sooz,
If you're as ruthless as Beege makes you out to be, may I suggest that now would be a good time to throw Stewie overboard and let your light shine on young Jason "What This Team Really Needs Is More" Kubel.
Regards,

Posted by: frightwig at June 17, 2006 11:58 PMJustin Morneau gave us a series win, on the road, against a team we by all means should've been beating.
BOD all the way. Hands down.
Posted by: Torhu at June 18, 2006 12:04 AMThough it may not sound like much, Morneau is now "22nd" in Homeruns.
This is only the case, however, because Morneau is in a group of 6 or so other players with the 9th Highest amount. (16)
Morneau is also "11th" in RBI. This is because he's again tied with a group of people for the 8th highest amount. (53)
So to recap:
Mauer: 1st in Avg
Santana: 1st in Ks, 10th in ERA
Morneau: 8th in RBI, 9th in HR
Not too shabby.
Posted by: Torhu at June 18, 2006 12:55 AMI get giddy watching the young talent on this team. We got hosed out of a run-Mauer threw that dude out at 2nd. Anyway, I gotta give props to Gardy, great job this last week. Love the young, quick, talented lineup he's fielding, gutty move pitching Nathan 5 days straight.
Who else is for:
a) Giving Lohse the next 5 spot? I've been the biggest Kyle critic, but he's showin us somethin.
b) Buying Liriano a suit of armor for when he's facing Clemens on Thursday?
Just say no to Kyle Lohse.
Posted by: Me at June 18, 2006 06:15 AMI'm beginning to think Cuddy is going to have to get 10 RBIs in a game to be BOD. Except of course if the good Doc gets the 11th. Then Cuddy will have to wait his turn yet again.
Waaahhhh!

Posted by: metsgrrl at June 18, 2006 09:35 AMHell of a stop by Punto on that grounder up the middle.
No throwing Stew overboard. DH. With Stew at DH; Lew playing the odd game in the OF. Punto moving around, spelling Castillo and maybe alternating with Tiffee. Redmond hitting off the bench and giving Joe a rest. Sierra coming back. This team is starting to have a little depth and a few options. It would be huge if Bartlett establishes himself at short.
Posted by: gopher38 at June 18, 2006 11:19 AMI like how you think, gopher38.
Major thanks to Justin. You rule, dude.
Posted by: FordHoiberg at June 18, 2006 12:23 PMYe gods, the Twins WON a ROAD SERIES.
SWEPT a road series.
As in, not at the Metrodome?
THIS year?
I think I'm going to pass out.
Posted by: Mark at June 18, 2006 03:58 PMI agree gopher38 but I think that stew and kubel should alternate left and Dh. If we are rely going to make a run at this thing then I think Stew is better in the dome (did you see kubel lose that ball in the lights a few days ago?) I love Kubel don't get me wrong.
And a sweep, And a 7 game winning streak, and .500! *Falls over*
Mr Jr.,
Lohse is doing just fine in the bullpen where he belongs. He has caused too much suffering in the starting rotation for us to trust him there again. Besides, some people just belong in the pen, and it seems he is finding a place there.

Posted by: likeTwinsluvCubs at June 19, 2006 10:05 AMI'm not ready to trust Kyle yet, but I am ready to pit him against BOOF. I don't think Boof is ready yet-he will benefit more from time in the pen, I think. Hopefully he proves me wrong and earns the spot. But I bet Kyle's back in it by the break.
Speaking of by the break, has anyone looked at the schedule leading in? Looks VERY positive. Other than the tough series in Houston, every other set you can mark as a "should-win." Cubs, Dodgers, Brewers, Royals, all at home. The NL is less than impressive. We should be officially in contention at the break.
