Maybe this ball should be put back in play--against the middle of the Twins batting order. That should put an end to any complaints about physical abuse. . . . .

Ah, but Dougie learned some magic tricks from former teamate Cuddy. Do you really think that's the ball? Muhahahahaha!

Despite their best efforts, they managed to flip the 'ie' around a couple of times toward the end. I'm sure the editor was on his second bottle of Jager by then.

The writer was clearly following the "i before e" rule that I learned early in life. Namely, if you aren't sure which comes first, just kind of alternate back and forth every other time or so that you use the word.

The damned baseball is lying. Doug was good to that baseball. Lying, ingrateful baseball.

Posted by: Kurtis at April 29, 2006 10:48 AM

I'm with Kurtis - that ball is just trying to make some quick cash before it heads in to the hall. Opportunistic jerk. Leave Doug alone - he's a good clean wholesome boy with a family.

Besides, you have to expect to be roughed up a little bit when you're playing in the bigs. If that ball didn't want that sort of treatment, it should have stayed in the minors. Be careful what you wish for ballie - sometimes you get it.

Dear Kurtis & SDave,

I couldn't have said it better myself.
