Oh..poor doctor. I miss Koskos too.
Maybe Johan should've asked Nathan to be his running mate for a second term?

Posted by: Twinsboy at February 13, 2006 09:55 PM

I rather dislike valentine's day too. It's terrible at my school.

Posted by: Twinsboy at February 13, 2006 09:56 PM

I miss Corey too...

Posted by: ndtf at February 13, 2006 09:57 PM

Dear ndtf,
Thanks for the support.
Happy Valentine's Day.

Justin

I go to a Catholic school and since getting both a new principal and ass. principal we won't be out of uniform tomarrow, like we used to. It's hard being a Seinor under new rulers. 57 MORE DAYS TO HOME OPENER!!!!!!!!

I like the one to Bradke, and Lew's. Aw hell, they're all funny. Good work, BG. Except for Justin's, I feel your pain.

Happy V-Day all,

I love the Tony Batista Valentine - May he hit like Godzilla for the Twins this year.

Posted by: SoCalTwinsFan at February 14, 2006 02:12 AM

Dearest Wonder Woman; thinking of you.

Posted by: insider at February 14, 2006 07:30 AM

SoCal,

Like Godzilla? You mean .305/23/116?

Sorry, he's taken. As BG would say -- Mitts off! :)

Lovingly,
YF

Very funny, BG! (And Angela and Kurtis, too!)

Posted by: JustBeth at February 14, 2006 07:56 AM

I must say the one from Corey to Justin made me laugh and tear up at the same time.

Great job! :)

Aww. It's like Twins PostSecrets.

Posted by: CarrieICL at February 14, 2006 11:46 AM

T
Why isn't there one from the Twins to the World Series Champion White Sox?

Perhaps asking the Sox to take it easy on them this year...

Posted by: chisox at February 14, 2006 11:50 AM

Dear chisox,

Now why on earth would the Twins want to send a valentine to the White Sox?

Especially since the odds are that the Sox won't have the same luck in one run games as they had last season.

Our guys won't need yours to "take it easy on them this year".

They will do just fine without any favors.

With love, and a whole lot of good natured rivalry,

bubblemint

Dear BG,

All of those are quite funny, but I especially like the post-season flavored Ruben Sierra and AJP valentines.

Hooray for humor on Valentine's Day,
ubelmann

Brilliant!

Posted by: Salt-Man Z at February 15, 2006 10:39 AM

the division will be wide open as always and looking for good competition as always...

working on getting my dog day tickets for my girlfriend and her dog April 21 vs. the twinkies..

How about a card from AJ with the trophy in the Oval Office sending a valentines day card to Tori Hunter...

I will say, Twins fans provide a more lively rivalry than Indians fans, I can't stand Indian fans!!

Posted by: chisox at February 15, 2006 11:12 AM

.391 = Ruben Sierra's lifetime average facing Bert Blyleven.

Wonder Woman - "See you soon?!?!?!?!?"

Are you coming down? The weather's great! Little Nick showed up today too! And Jessie, and Kyle. Hail, hail, the gang's almost all here! Let me know when you are coming, if you are. I hope so.

Posted by: insider at February 15, 2006 12:20 PM

Dear Mr. Sox,

I bet that actually did happen.

Sincerely,
Batgirl

Posted by: Batgirl at February 15, 2006 12:31 PM

Twins pitcher Kyle Lohse beat the squad in an arbitration hearing for the second straight year, as a judge decided he will make $3.95 million this season rather than the $3.4 million offered by Minnesota. Lohse went 9-13 last season with a 4.18 ERA.
Apparently arbitration judges are big fans of 9-13 records, since that's what Lohse had in 2004 before winning his first arbitration hearing.

Posted by: T-Mac at February 15, 2006 12:43 PM

Hmmmm. I'd like to see the valentines Batgirl exchanged with her favorite players. I bet they're, um, interesting.

Talk about a Valentine...

Posted by: The Commish at February 15, 2006 12:55 PM

Pretty safe bet that Kyle's gone by the trade deadline.

Posted by: Word Smith at February 15, 2006 01:50 PM

Dear Ms. Bro,

That's private.

Posted by: Batgirl at February 15, 2006 01:59 PM

If Lyle really did win his case, (pardon my french) but he's screwed as a Twin.

Well guys, get your last look at Lyle, cause by July he'll be finally gone.

Posted by: Twinsboy at February 15, 2006 02:09 PM

Word Smith, I hope you're right. There's just something about Lohse that's troubling...it's not his fault he won the arbitration case, but he always seems to be going out of his way to create disharmony. I'm sure his agent played the "they didn't score my boy Kyle any runs, yer honner!!" card brilliantly, which is fair - I'd be interested to see how many runs per 9 they gave Mister Lohse. But he's a pouter and a whiner - and he has that strange crevice in his chin. Overall, I just don't think he's a good fit with the Twins - let's ship him to the Royals so he can hang with Dougie and Joe, and so we can knock him around a few times a season.

Posted by: adidasman at February 15, 2006 02:14 PM

Well, the good news is that we'll probably be getting more for him than juST trading him to the royals. It seems like quite a few teams are pitching thin, *cough*Boston*cough*, so with an average-quality 4th starter, we'll have quite a few options for the crybaby.

I bet the last few years, he just pouted to Scott Boras to scam some more money for both of them.

Posted by: Twinsboy at February 15, 2006 02:27 PM

Can we trade him to Milwaukee for Corey??? Pleeeeeeeeease???

Posted by: adidasman at February 15, 2006 03:31 PM

Maybe this was already mentioned.
Maybe Kyle fills the # 4 spot in the rotation until July, then we trade him for a need or prospects and call Liriano up.
It's almost the perfect situation, since it seems the Twins want a little more seasoning at AAA for Liriano. And, it also provides depth in case of an injury in the rotation. (Radke?)

Posted by: T-Mac at February 15, 2006 05:04 PM

Woot, woot. I'll be down March 1st. It is so close I can friggen' taste it. GODZZZZIIILLLLAA!

Posted by: S.J. at February 15, 2006 06:41 PM

I can't believe Loshe won.

I don't know what how to go 9 and 13 at my job but something tells me I wouldn't be getting that kind of raise if I did.

Almost makes me want to beat a door with a bat...but I don't know why.

Posted by: caluofmn at February 15, 2006 07:00 PM

I'm sorry, but I love Kyle and I'm a HUGE fan no matter what (through thick and thin). I myself would hate to see him get traded (I hate that word more than I hate Hilary Duff), but if worse came to wose I would like to see him go to the Red Sox (my second fav. team). I have family there, so I go every summer. In fact my cousin was alredy bugging me about possibly getting Lohse last summer. Although my uncle is convinced that the Red Sox will some how aqure Morneau, Mauer, and Santana (?). Not to mention the Red Sox also have Arroyo (Bronson) and Beckett (Josh) who are HOT as hell! 55 MORE DAYS TO HOME OPENER!!!!!!!

I just saw that Jeff Weaver and his 4.22 ERA (in an extreme pitcher's park last year, in the NL) got $8.325 million for one year with the Angels. Lyle looks like a bargain.
