Happy Holidays From Team Batgirl!

Trying this again...

Xmascard.jpg

May your days be merry and your nights filled with dreams of HRs with RISP, and may your holiday wishes (especially if they involve a DH) come true. And for those suffering from the loss of a boyfriend this holiday season, remember, Jeb was there just a year ago.

B-G.com will be closed until the New Year, barring any exciting developments. In the meantime, play lots of Santana Claus v. the Mall-goers.

THE TWINS SIGNED RONDELL WHITE

Merry Christmas to us. Your DH, Batgirl!

Posted by: Andre at December 22, 2005 12:09 PM

Nuts, Ovie, you beat me to it. Fox says the Twins signed Rondell White to be the DH. Nice move, TR!

and here's baseballreference link to his stats

I like a guy who hits .347 with runners on base. I'm just saying, is all.

Posted by: Laurel at December 22, 2005 12:31 PM

i like this signing his ops is .815 for his career and he didn't show any signs of slowing down last year and the surgery he had isn't that big of deal plus he will have had it 9 months ago by the time the season starts.

Posted by: Paul GFORKS at December 22, 2005 12:37 PM

RC/27 outs is 5.4 that will be the best on the team. worth a couple games.

Posted by: Paul GFORKS at December 22, 2005 12:39 PM

i'm glad we went this route instead of Thomas or Piazza. way go to TR! now all we have to do is cut Tony Batista in spring training.

Posted by: TeeNutts at December 22, 2005 12:39 PM

Merry Christmas to all!

And this White dealie might work out.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and all that good stuff to all! =)

P.S. - Rondell, huh? Not too shabby. Looks like a smart contract for us, too...

Posted by: Freez at December 22, 2005 01:20 PM

Rondell White -- just what the Twins need, a higher Cubs Factor.

Happy holidays, BG!

Posted by: dlarso01 at December 22, 2005 01:46 PM

Thanks to Team Batgirl, the gift that keeps on giving. Happy '06 to my fellow Batgroupies.

Posted by: nailbiter at December 22, 2005 01:56 PM

Happy holidays to BG and Jeb and all the other people from this fantastic site...

I think Rondell White best move so far this offseason--now put Cuddles back at 3B--dont worry too much about defense and dump Batista...

This is also a sad day as one of the all-time good guys of baseball--Elrod Hendricks (Os catcher and longtime--29 years--coach died one day before he turned 65)...

Happy Holidays everyone! Thanks for another great bat-year.

PS. I assume Batkitty #3 took the picture? He is quite the photographer!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to Team Batgirl!

Posted by: JustBeth at December 22, 2005 03:27 PM

Soccerfan - I was trying to account for the absence of batkitty #3 myself, I forgot to consider he may have been the photographer.

What I find intriguing is that Batgirl has a healthy skin-tone, and everyone else is a pasty white. Has Batgirl gotten over the flu, only to give it to everyone else in the process? JEB looks especially gaunt, like he could use a solid meal or two. Nice to see Gwynnkerbell could show up for the photo too.

Be safe everyone. See you on the other side of the BG blackout.

Happiest of Holidays to all y'all. And to team Batgirl, thank you for another year with more sass than Justin Morneau can shake a bat at.

the Blue Jays might trade for Troy Glaus.
do you think if TR offered them Lohse and Cuddyer, they would send us Koskie back while paying half his salary?

Posted by: TeeNutts at December 23, 2005 04:17 PM

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you. Thank you all for the fun during the past year, since I stumbled over this community. Please enjoy a safe holiday season, and cherish your friends and families at this special time.

THE TWINS SIGNED DENNYS REYES

Ok, it's not as compelling as Rondell White and it's only a minor-league contract. In other news Joe Mays has signed with KC.

Posted by: Skorch at December 24, 2005 08:36 AM

I just saw the news Skorch.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2269678

Hopefully he'll continue to pitch like he did for us, it'd be nice to have a few high scoring games once in a while. ;)

I've been visiting this site for something like three weeks now, and you've eased my offseason pain batgirl. Thank you! Happy Holidays!

To all-

the last couple of days have been feeling so Spring like. It makes the longing for the '06 baseball season flair up. My psyche says March 25, my calendar says, of course, December. This site helps stay connected to the game when there is only signing news to keep me warm. I learn, laugh, and am even occasionally moved to more tender emotions when I visit here. And of course this blog helps me assess myself as less strange being that baseball is more than just a game to me. And, thankfully, more to you all.

thank you, Bat Girl, for being you. Joy and Peace to all who visit and write here.

Cheers, kal

"Kutis" did a lovely job on the game, send him my regards :)

How strange is that Jeff Reardon story? Bizarre . . .

Dear Batgirl, Team, and Batlings;

Thank you for an enjoyable 2005. I'm looking forward to more greatness in 2006. Enjoy the holidays.

The choice has been made...

For Christmas I got Twins Flex Season Tickets from my wife and her family. Looks like the stamp of approval has been set upon the move to Minneapolis... So long crappy Texas! I couldn't have asked for any better Christmas gifts than the Twins and a Texas reprieve.

I say again, my wife is pretty awesome.

Happy Christmas to all Batlings, Batkitties, Batlurkers, and of course to Batgirl and the crew.

I think TeeNuts has a fine plan; the Jays have already said that Glaus is going to play third, which leaves our old friend Corey out in the Toronto cold. (Man, it didn't take them long to abandon the whole "we're building our marketing campaign around Koskie, the native Canadian" gambit, did it?) So they'll be desperate to unload him, he'll be regretting his decision to leave his adopted home of Minneapolis...it all makes so much sense. And I miss Corey. And my wife refuses to dispose of her Twins Koskie T-shirt, and she looks so adorable in it, so it'll make everyone here in the adidasman home very happy to welcome him back. So come on, TR - let's get that hoser back where he belongs!
