Posted by Batgirl at September 30, 2005 10:09 PMbefore the season started, I made a prediction to my friend Mike: Justin Morneau will hit a grand slam this year.
thank you, Justin, for proving me right. ;-)
Posted by: kafumbly at September 30, 2005 10:45 PMLucky me - got to witness in person the Good Doctors FIRST ever MLB grand slam - we even got a little smile when he came out to first - we were still standing and clapping -
Fabulous choice!
Much Love
Wonder Woman
PS - THANKS AGAIN INFIELD - for all the 'stuff' - you rock!!
Posted by: Wonder Woman at September 30, 2005 10:46 PMA no doubt about it choice.
The good doctor comes through on one pitch.
Guess he just needed those test results to ease his mind and allow him to relax out there.
Posted by: bubblemint at September 30, 2005 10:54 PMThat was beautiful. Simply wonderful. BABOOM!
Posted by: Stacy at September 30, 2005 10:55 PMNot only his first grand slam...
Not only off a lefthander...
But on the first pitch. That's the Morneau we hoped to see all year - and hope to see next.
Posted by: neutrino boi at September 30, 2005 11:00 PMI too got to see it in person, for once this season I predicted he was going to do something huge and it came true. Morneau has come so close sooooooo many times. Thanks Dr.
Posted by: allie at September 30, 2005 11:03 PMSadly, I was not at the game to see the grand slam. I did not see it on TV since I can't afford cable. I heard it on the radio, and Gordo and Dazzle called it. After watching the replay on the Twins site, wow. I [heart] Dr. Morneau.
Posted by: ndtf at October 1, 2005 12:17 AMI also got the chance to see this beautiful thing in person. My mom almost fell over cheering...good times :)
It was amazing. *nods* Simply amazing.
Posted by: Candace at October 1, 2005 02:16 AMSo my boyfriend hits a grand slam and I miss it? Just my luck. Oh well. Congrats Doc. $10 well spent as far as I'm concerned!
Posted by: olbiemn at October 1, 2005 02:34 AMNow the kid just needs to work on cracking a smile after he runs the bases...

Certainly there's a Legovision opportunity here! Batgirl, put this in context. (Hint: Think of yourself as Karl Rove!)

Some text for the non-cut-and-paste crowd:
"Twins teammates Torii Hunter and Justin Morneau got into a brief fight after Thursday night's loss to Kansas City, the latest incident on a team that has shown its frustrations for most of the second half of the season.
"The Twins clubhouse was closed longer than normal after Thursday's game, and word began to spread around the Metrodome that something had happened...."

Click my name for that one.
Posted by: bubblemint at October 1, 2005 11:11 AMWhoo! I was there screaming my fool head off! I think I have to forgive him now for being a Canucks fan... I promised a good friend of mine that I would if he hit a grand slam.

Posted by: closetJaysfan at October 1, 2005 11:34 AMI always love when something like that happens right after the Manager brings in a new pitcher.
Makes him look soooo dumb.
Posted by: Torhu at October 1, 2005 11:37 AMKind of a side note...but saw this pic on ESPN.

There's some of that sass we're always taking about.
Posted by: Torhu at October 1, 2005 11:38 AMHere's a fun little game for everyone over the age of 21. Go to the Twins page on foxsports.com and watch Doc's post game interview. Take a drink every time he says "You know." If you can still stand at the end of the interview, you win!
Posted by: ndtf at October 1, 2005 11:59 AMthis is the text from the picture Torhu referenced:

hahahaha... Juan Castro is so cool. I really like him.
Posted by: kafumbly at October 1, 2005 03:29 PMOh, so many things to say.
1. Bubblemint, the only wrong thing with the grand slam is that our one true love did not come into the game.
2. The other only wrong thing about this first pitch grand slam is that Justin's been swinging and missing at crappy first pitches ALL FREAKING YEAR and now he hits one grand slam off one first pitch, so I'm worried it won't be the end of it. But damn, I did have a moment when that ball cleared the fence.
3. Juan Castro : this year :: Henry Blanco : last year, for me.
Posted by: Donnalove at October 1, 2005 04:33 PMI say goodbye Torpi. I think there is more of future with the good Doctor. Besides anybody that has a name that rhymes with Porno I want on my team.
