What's this? The sudden return of the Twins mojo?

Posted by: Mark at August 17, 2005 09:47 PM

"There ain't nothing like a sweep...."

LeCroy + Santana = Wednesday night magic

Baseball Tonight says, "Don't count them (the Twins of course) out!"

Why is Santana "honorary?"
Who cares. The Twins are getting into it and I am a happy sappy gal.

cheers, kal

Suhhhhhweet! Sweep the BS, A's lost, NYY lost, Indians lost. It doesn't get any better than this!!!!

I think *I* might need a cigarette after this game.

As a heterosexual male who doesn't smoke, that's saying something.

Points to whomever identifies the origins of the Santana as vet assistant image first.

*bows down to El Presidente's greatness*

And Jeb, is it from last year's All-Star Break?

Posted by: ndtf at August 17, 2005 09:52 PM

Dear Ms Kal,

With only two Team Batgirl boyfriends in the line-up, the BOD reverts to honorary.

Helpfully,
BG

But major, major ass props to the beauty that was Matty LeCroy, for makingn us all believe. I believe, Matty, I believe!

Posted by: CarrieICL at August 17, 2005 10:15 PM

johan, you rock. matty, you did a heck of a job too!! *happy dance*

Posted by: olbiemn at August 17, 2005 10:21 PM

BG- just an idea...you could do a whole thing of pics of the players in the jobs they would have if they weren't in the majors. It could be funny!!!
Props to all of the boys tonight for the lineup that we had. Probably doesn't get any stranger than that. I did say probably!!!

yahoo Johan!

I was angry at Dick, though, because he kept saying "no hitter" and stuff. when will he learn to shut up?! Dick, I love you dearly (though not as much as I love Bert), but you need to stop jinxing these things!

and the Batlings who gathered at Billy's in St. Paul decided that Little Nicky Ninja was pretty damn cool, when he struck that pose after getting the relay from Abernathy and holding the runner to a single. I hope we see more of him!

I would have loved to have seen Matty "The Buehrle killer" LeCroy get the BOD, but Santana was just too powerful tonight. I have to agree with this decision.

If it wasn't for Lew, Santana would be my NSMC. The man is remarkable.

Matty, your day will come. El Presidente, you rock my world.

On mlb.com, they have a little highlight reel showing all 10 of El Presidente's strikeouts... and if I'm not mistaken, every one of them was a swinging third strike!

Kal

I love Baseball Tonight, but just a couple weeks ago I heard them go around the desk and every single one of them said, "The Twins are done." And then just a couple days ago Harold Reynolds did an ESPN Motion piece explaining why the Twins were done for this year. So I find that quite amusing that tonight they're saying "Don't count them out".

Also, another pitching clinic put on by El Presidente tonight. It was beautiful. And props to Matt. Now if we could only get people on base first.....

Posted by: KittyDoggy at August 18, 2005 01:29 AM

Anyone notice how MN teams always do the opposite of what ESPN thinks they will do? I wish they would stop hyping the Vikings and say they have nochance because our MN teams do not like the hype. I also wish ESPN would have counted them out sooner so that the Twins could have started their winning rampage earlier.

After church last night, Wee Sister told me, "Santana wasn't pitching too good in the first inning. He hit a batter and walked one." I was worried.

I called her to yell at her when I got home: "not pitching too good" when he had a no-hitter going on? That was way cool.

Does anybody have the "Nicky Ninja" pose? I think I may have missed it.
