With all love and respect and gratitude and, yes, a little lust to Jacque Jones--not to mention to the baggie in right--the B.O.D.S.H.C's eyes turn to an earlier run-scoring play. The Twins were, once again, scoreless through much of the game today, despite several opportunities (many of them created by Juan Castro). Then in the sixth, Little Nicky Punto got a lead-off hit and it seemed there was an outside chance we might be able to score him. Maybe with some small ball? A bunt, a sac fly, a stolen base, and a little help from Crazy Pepe? No, how about a triple from Mr. Shannon Stewart putting the Twins on the board, setting up the tying run, and giving Stewie the Boyfriend of the Day..

...*pats Jones on back*
You'll be the darling of the highlights tonight, Jonesy.
Posted by: Torhu at July 20, 2005 03:50 PMThank you, Stewie. Thank you, Jacque. Thank you, LNP.
One rung at a time, I see a rescue ladder going down the hole. Be patient Batgirl; they're trying to get you out of there.

Posted by: soccerfan at July 20, 2005 03:53 PMThat game made my afternoon from Hell at work go much faster! Thanks boys!
Posted by: ndtf at July 20, 2005 04:04 PMJJ is the hero and the man for B.O.D. with kudos Kyle and Stewart.
My bitterness quotient has subsided enough to post again.
Posted by: funoka at July 20, 2005 04:24 PMGeez, I meant Stewie and kudos for Kyle and JJ.
I'll stay off now. I'm rusty.
Oh man - are you sure?? No offense to Stewie - but JJ's come up pretty big the last couple of days - but that triple by Stewie was sure fun to watch - oh sorry to Infield's hubby - because I was standing in front of him the as Stewie rounded the bases - my bad =(
It was a fun afternoon - let's keep it up boys!!!
Much Love

Dear Ms. Woman,
No. Not sure. Even with the preference to Team Batgirl Boyfriends, this was incredibly close and I have it on good authority that the BODSHC wavered quite a bit. JJ is undoubtably the hero, but of TBB's, Stewie is certainly the BOD. JJ will be honored in other ways, though, and the BODSHC always takes into account past shaftings when there's a close call to be made.
Sincerely,
BG
p.s. Dear Funoka, Do not stay off. We must stick together during these difficult times.
Posted by: Batgirl at July 20, 2005 04:35 PMDear Shannon,
Thank you! I'm so glad that everyday you prove me wrong on that whole Kielty thing.
Lovingly,
HooliganKat
Dear Jacque,
Thank you! See how fun it is to score runs and win games? It's like drinking a frozen prickly pear margarita while lounging in the pool on a 90 degree day.
Blissfully,
HooliganKat

I agree with the BODSHC. Shannon not only cracked the eggs we were laying on the scoreboard, he also set himself up to be sent home as well.
Brilliant hitting by Mr. Shannon Stewart.
Jacque's walk-off was no small feat, not to take away from that... I was just really happy to see a hit with a man on base.
Posted by: brent at July 20, 2005 04:42 PMAs long as there was a proper recount =)
I'm good with Stewie too - and a pat on the bum to Brad - nice pitching today!!
Much Love

The way I see it, given how often he has carried this team, the BOD is basically Shannon's to lose -- you know, like if you win the Gold Glove at your position for a few years in a row, then you pretty much have to go out and commit 45 errors before they give it to someone else.
Posted by: Word Smith at July 20, 2005 05:14 PMBitch Sox lose, too! Yeaaaa!
Posted by: Eric at July 20, 2005 05:15 PMFor those of you who admire offense, I have no problem with Stewie being BOD, nor with JJ for that matter. However, for those of us who get all tingly over defense, this was a Juan-derful day.
Posted by: Spike at July 20, 2005 05:16 PMWonderful choice BG....not that I'm surprised. I knew he would be BOD this morning. And I have a Game Preview in the BatCave to prove it!
Nice game boys....kick some butt in Detroit now.
Oh and yes.....great game by JJ, BRadke and Juan as well. Heck....you were ALL great. I love you guys. (I really should avoid scotch at work)
Posted by: SDave at July 20, 2005 06:09 PMHooray for Stewie! Personally, I think Miguel Tejada deserves at least B.O.D. consideration. His baserunning gaffes led to Raffy's homer being a 2-run shot instead of a 3-run shot. Phew! But heads up play by Mr. JJ to get that ball into 2B quickly. I really do believe JJ earns a shaft point today :)
Posted by: sacky at July 20, 2005 06:14 PMStew was a good, but difficult choice today. But I long for a no brainer pick of The Doctor. Please, Doc, one of these days.
Posted by: insider at July 20, 2005 07:57 PMI think JJ just really wants to be BOD and keeps trying to get it, this way BG can entice him to do even more tomorrow. Just hope he doesn't give up and tries harder instead.
Posted by: dregn at July 20, 2005 09:05 PMBest Boyfried in a Supporting Role (BBSR) again goes to LNP-setting up Stewie for heroics.
