Posted by Batgirl at July 8, 2005 10:00 PMBatgirl, WHERE do you get these photos? Are you on young Joe's Christmas card list?
Well done Joe
Posted by: Scotty_Dawg at July 8, 2005 10:01 PMAnd just think, if it weren't for one of them leaving baseball, that could've someday been the a third of our opening day lineup.
Posted by: Torhu at July 8, 2005 10:02 PMcongrats, Chairman! great game!
Posted by: kafumbly at July 8, 2005 10:06 PMYay Joe!
On another note: BG, I need some advice. I'm meeting Terry Ryan tomorrow and I don't know what to say to him. Please, help me.
And yes, I really and truly am meeting Mr Ryan.
Posted by: annun at July 8, 2005 10:28 PMMy sentiments exactly ;)
Posted by: Sam at July 8, 2005 10:29 PMBravo Joe Mauer, and bravo on the lovely photo BG, it really is quite touching. And hello to big Jake and Terese.
Posted by: Hannah at July 8, 2005 10:31 PMDear Mr./Ms. annun,
Ask him if he reads Batgirl!
Love,
BG
p.s. You could ask him about the draft picks he's most excited about, or his recent rookie league scouting trip and the performance of Toby Gardenhire!
Posted by: Batgirl at July 8, 2005 10:36 PMOn a hot humid night, a Twin's win and Christmas lights are soothing. Felix Navidad, and few votes to L-Rod.
Posted by: PJStP at July 8, 2005 10:38 PMLOL BG! He's still on his trip! That's the whole reason I get to meet him - my dad does the announcing for the rookie team.
And Gardy Jr's doing ok. He's had a really rough start, with lots of strike-outs and all-around ass-batting, but the other night he got two doubles (I think it was two) and is currently batting just under .200.
P.S. I'm female.
Posted by: annun at July 8, 2005 10:43 PMWhich reminds me of a cold winter night a few years ago when contraction was on the tongues of many. We were returning from a dinner out downtown St. Paul and Pavrotti was performing at the Xcel. As I stopped to let concert goers cross in front of me, I spotted Mr. C. Pohlad inches from bumper. What else could I do? I rolled my window down, and shouted "Save the Twin's!!" He winced noticiably, but the rest is history.
True Story!
CONGRATS, CHAIRMAN!
He was glistening on his postgame BOD interview;)
Posted by: Stacy at July 8, 2005 10:53 PMSomeone was asking what a blonde OMM would resemble a little bit ago.
Wonder no longer.

Posted by: Eric at July 8, 2005 10:57 PMWhat a cute picture (the Mauer family, not blonde OMM). Good job Chairman!
Posted by: ndtf at July 9, 2005 12:00 AMDear Annun,
Ask her if she felt sexy in that Borg outfit, because she sure looked sexy.
[Someone whispers to Shoeless Joe]
Never mind.

Ask him if he's ever gone into a scouting meeting wearing nothing but socks, waving around some scouting reports, and asking the scouts if they want to watch a little extra game film....you know just to keep the scouts loose.
Posted by: Craig in MN at July 9, 2005 10:23 AMAgain - BG, where did you get that picture! That's just sooooo nice.
Posted by: insider at July 9, 2005 10:24 AMDear Mr. Eric,
Horrifying.
Ms. annun,
Yes, get him talking about the rookie league. That should provide quite a bit to talk about, especially as you obviously know your stuff. Also, ask if he's seen BATMAN.
Mr insider,
BG can't reveal her secrets.
(Okay, okay, Yahoo.)
Mr. Joe,
I'm sure he prefers Boston Public.
Yours,
BG
I just noticed the photo over Billy's head. Perfect!
Posted by: insider at July 9, 2005 10:26 AMThose are some haircuts.
Posted by: aurora at July 9, 2005 10:28 AMMulholland in that picture looks like he's got a punk band on the side with some buddies from high school. You know, in case that baseball thing doesn't work out.
Nice work, Eric.
Posted by: Skorch at July 9, 2005 10:32 AMNotice there's not an ounce of spare flesh around that "aged" middle. Does that man ever keep himself in shape. My vote for HGMOD (Hot Grown Man of the Day). Yum.
Posted by: LaurieNY at July 9, 2005 10:44 AMSomebody really should introduce those boys to a good barber.
Posted by: frightwig at July 9, 2005 10:52 AMPersonally I think the barber should stay far, far away from them.
Posted by: LaurieNY at July 9, 2005 12:04 PMI agree with Laurie... I think they look just fine.
Posted by: Nick at July 9, 2005 12:08 PMI meant that the barber had done quite enough damage already...
Posted by: LaurieNY at July 9, 2005 12:26 PMI agree, it looks as if they have had their fair share of mishaps with the hair cutting industry.
Unfortunately, all our musing as to what to say to Mr Ryan did no good. I arrived at the game tonight only to discover that he'd left earlier today. *sigh* I guess I'll just have to wait until next summer...
Posted by: annun at July 9, 2005 11:01 PMHow insignificant is the placement of mom in that picture. I'm surprised they didn't Photoshop her out altogether.
Posted by: T.C. Rafters at July 11, 2005 10:37 AMOn Friday, July 8th I celebrate Joe Mauer, cause this was the date (7/8/04) Joe became a special-person to me. :) Meaning he touch my life, I don't have to feel alone anymore. Go Twins!
