My darlings,
Batgirl will be away for the week delivering sass to orphans in France, but the rest of Team Batgirl will take over the blogging duties. Be good to them, and to each other. Batgirl will see you again on Memorial Day.
Endless Love,
Batgirl
Dear Batgirl;
Much luck and happy travels to you. We'll miss you while you're gone and rejoice when you return.
Bon Voyage,
k-bro
Bat-Girl...Pass your sass around Europe. Remember to wear a buree (the french cap thingy's) with a twins logo on it...Spread Twins love global
Posted by: Bojangles Crain at May 21, 2005 09:35 AMI'll be away from Twin Town myself, but have the entire published works of Batgirl's alias (both of them) in my vacation reading bag to stave off the pains of Batgirl withdrawl.
Posted by: Kurtis at May 21, 2005 09:45 AMDearest Frapper la Fille,
Wishing you travelling mercies as you spread insolence around the continent. We and les jumeaux shall miss you.
Batgirl,
Twins Territory won't be the same until you return. Have a safe and successful journey.
Bon Voyage,
Attyfan
Posted by: Attyfan at May 21, 2005 10:05 AMHave fun BG! Stay away from the Moulin Rouge. I hear it is a deathtrap for young writers. ;)
Posted by: joel. at May 21, 2005 10:07 AMBatgirl, have fun, travel safe, we'll miss you. Oh, while your gone, you can have Sweetcheeks IM me, ya know in case he misses IM'ing with the Batgirl, I know it won't be the same, but I'll do my best to comfort him while your gone.
Posted by: HooliganKat at May 21, 2005 10:34 AMWatch out for your arch-nemesis, Bomb Voyage.
Posted by: Roscoe at May 21, 2005 11:31 AMFille d'adieu de batte,
Nous nous ennuierons de vous terriblement.
Voyage sûr,

Wow, bubblemint, either you were having fun with BabelFish or your French is really terrible. :-)
Posted by: Adam at May 21, 2005 12:10 PMBecause the game thread hasn't been posted yet and I'm on my way out for the day, I'll sneak my observation in now:
Joe: 93 pitches CG
Carlos: 74 pitches CG
Radke: 55 pitches CG?
Let's hope. Go Twins!
Posted by: joel. at May 21, 2005 12:17 PMI hate to take over the board, but I have pictures from the Mauer/Morneau visit to Monticello. Click my name. I hope it works; this is my first attempt at HTML.

I love the pictures! It made my day since I won't be able to see them play on TV today!
Thanks!
Posted by: hen at May 21, 2005 01:24 PMAh, nevermind.
Posted by: mk at May 21, 2005 01:52 PMCubs 1, Bitch Sox 0 in the top of the 6th.
Posted by: ndtf at May 21, 2005 01:53 PMI was noting Zambrano's hit count going into the sixth inning--or lack thereof.
Alas, Konerko "rectified" the situation.
Posted by: mk at May 21, 2005 01:57 PMI noticed it too but didn't want to say anything for fear of jinxing it...
Posted by: ndtf at May 21, 2005 02:02 PMWow, Zambrano's on fire. I just hope the Cubs don't take him out since he has 100+ pitches. I have a sinking feeling that once the bullpen gets involved, things might well go downhill.
Posted by: Nick at May 21, 2005 02:07 PMOk.. the two boys in the glasses just kills me.. As a former glasses and contacts wearer for too many years to consider - that is the look I had when I was up to late to get up early enough to put the contacts in...
Anyone wanna bet that they were in the same boat?
Otherwise, THANKS K-bro for the pics! I wish I could have gotten up there myself. Justin needs to let his curls grow longer again...

I got to take pictures with them!!! (we were in line early) I remarked as I was "posing" that I wasn't photogenic, to which The Dr. replied "I'm not either" What cuties!! They were very personable, I didn't know what to expect. How long did you wait?
DAMMIT. Sometimes it really really sucks to be right.
Posted by: Nick at May 21, 2005 02:30 PMDear Amy:
Actually, mr.-bro took our two sons. I'm not feeling well, so I didn't go. I guess they got there between 7:30 and 7:45. They were lucky enough to get to wait under the overhang, and not in the rain.
My 9 y.o. was so proud when Joe called him "Bud". My boys said that they were both very nice.
k-bro
Oh, crap! The Bitch Sox just went ahead. Grr.
Posted by: k-bro at May 21, 2005 02:32 PMSadly, it looks as if I will be unable to listen to the game tonight. My presence has been requested at the bar to celebrate a friend's college graduation. Please send good vibes to the Dome for me...
Posted by: ndtf at May 21, 2005 03:12 PMThe bitch Sox just waited out Zambrano for the Bullpen. He threw a ton of pitches, walked a lot of guys, hit a couple...they didn't even need to swing. They knew the cubbies couldn't keep Zambrano in after 100 pitches beyond the sixth, not after his bout with "tennis elbow." They just waited him out of the game.
Then the bullpen got involved. Curse the Chicago Cubs bullpen, all the lot of ya, for blowing this game.
That has to be the worst way to win a baseball game, but one of the most effective: hammer a teams weakness. When you play the Yanks, pull the ball in play: They can't defend. When you play the Cubs, get to their pen: They can't pitch. When you play the Mets, run wild on teh basepaths: Piazza can't throw you out. When you're in KC, show up to the ballpark: they can't play.
Posted by: MikeQ at May 21, 2005 03:16 PMGood Lord, they're...wow. Those are really good pictures :-D I really wish I could have gone to that signing, but it would have taken me two and half hours to get to Monticello.
But those are really good pictures :) Joey was really nice when I met him, but I haven't gotten the chance to meet Justin yet. :)
Posted by: Candace at May 21, 2005 03:46 PMK-bro! Those pics are amazing!
Posted by: Sam at May 21, 2005 04:08 PMBatgirl, are you taking M.LeCroix avec vous? We'll keep track of Torii's d.p. grounders while you are gone.He tied an alltime m.l. record with 2 by the end of the second last night.Fondly,Al

Orphans in France are in desparate need of sass, so I'm glad you've risked your life briniging them some!
K-Bro-
Wee Sister and I got there too late, apparently, because as early as we were, we got sent home when they cut the line off...Thanks for the pictures! :) I just wish I could've met them! (Wee Sister was wearing her Justin Morneau Boyfriend shirt.)

Posted by: Just Beth at May 21, 2005 05:57 PMDear Adam,
My french IS really terrible, since I don't speak any at all.
Do you mean to tell me that I can't count on the translator at dictionary.com to deliver my message as it was intended??
What did it say I said?
bubblemint
Posted by: bubblemint at May 21, 2005 07:21 PMk-bro, those are pretty much the best pictures ever taken!
And BG, HAVE A GREAT TIME!!
Posted by: Stacy at May 21, 2005 08:41 PMAdam,
Wow!!
I just reverse translated it. You're right. It was really bad. ;-D
The only part that was right was the translation of my name. Mint of bubble. I do like that.
My intent was to say this,
Farewell Batgirl,
We will miss you terribly.
Travel safely,
bubblemint
Schlagholzmädchen,
entschuldigung, bitte, aber ich spreche keine Französisch. hab eine gute Reise!
mit freundlichen Grüßen,
kafumbly
Posted by: kafumbly at May 21, 2005 10:07 PMk-bro, great pictures! It's just a shame to see such young'ns wearing my glasses though. Course they probably wrote real small to get more sass on the balls.
Posted by: insider at May 22, 2005 09:15 AMWowza! Being a glasses wearing gal myself, I find men in glasses, extremely attractive. Add to that baseball boys in glasses and well, consider my knees weak.
Nice pictures!
