Two outs in the top of the ninth, runners on first and second, game tied at one. Lew Ford steps up, and somehow Batgirl just knows she has her B.O.D. So, apparently, does Lew—who bloops the ball into right field to score DJ Cuddles and give the Twins a win, causing great rejoicing in the game thread and making himself the Boyfriend of the Day
Jeb/Lewwww 4, Field/ Readers 3 ( 1 each Hunter, Tiffee, Santana.), Sooz/ Stewie 2, Batgirl/Joe 1, Goober/Dr. Morneau 1.
Posted by Batgirl at April 26, 2005 09:46 PMWow, the fact that Cuddyer was on base to score the winning run is amazing in itself! Way to go LEWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!
Posted by: Tinger at April 26, 2005 09:54 PMJohan #17 in a row
Nathan just cruises
LEWWWWWWWWWWWWW your the Man
Posted by: Tbone at April 26, 2005 09:55 PMwb Tinger! glad you got to catch the end. And I am still torn - Lew is always BOD material but..
well, LNP did so well for us today.
But there is no one like Lew...
Posted by: CapitalBabs at April 26, 2005 09:56 PMThank God we can play Kansas City sometimes. Aren't we like 0-5 against non-Royal teams recently?
Posted by: Kurtis at April 26, 2005 09:57 PMI apologize profusely to batlings everywhere. When we took the lead I forgot to change my rally cap back to a regular cap. I think the VP could have mowed them down faster, had I remember to change my cap. It will not happen again!
Mea Culpa, Mea Maxima Culpa!
Posted by: talldrinkowater at April 26, 2005 10:01 PMI was away from the computer (at the TV) and I have to say that my B.O.D. was Jason Bartlett. Breaking up that dp and getting the third baseman to overthrow won the game right there.
Posted by: amr at April 26, 2005 10:01 PMI believe it was the top of the 9th, but who really cares!
Posted by: Dan at April 26, 2005 10:27 PMDear Mr. Dan,
Oops. Fixed. I get so excited when we win sometimes I get myself all turned around.
Sincerely,
BG
Three cheers for Bobby Kielty out there in Oakland with the go ahead RBI in the 5th. Go BK!
Posted by: Hart at April 26, 2005 10:33 PMLeeeeeeeeeeeeew!!!
Also, yesterday's lego-vision was awesome.
Posted by: Mimiru at April 26, 2005 10:41 PMJeb,
Congrats on your BOD pic. You are running away with this competition! lol.
Posted by: Stacy at April 26, 2005 10:46 PMThree cheers for Scott Podzednik, Tadahito Iguchi and Carl ("Crazy Carl") Everett in the top of the sixth!!!
So... Santana wins. Again.
Lew gets to be BOD. Again.
The Orioles, after being down 8-3 to the East Coast Bitch Sox, come back to nail their smarmy butts to the wall, 11-8, and win. Again.
So tonight was a good night.
*tingles all over*
Posted by: CarrieIC at April 26, 2005 10:53 PMWoo hoo! Come on, Bay Area Athletics of Oakland!
Congrats, Jeb. You picked the right boyfriend. Adorkable, speedy, and smart, and he plays with heart.
Just Beth
Posted by: Just Beth at April 27, 2005 08:05 AMI think Lew must be taking Jedi Padawan lessons from Jedi Master Johan.
Posted by: Thart at April 27, 2005 11:35 AM
As always, a wise choice, BG. Hooray for my fabulous Lew-licious BF.
Didja see his post-game interview? How can a person not love that?
Posted by: TwinsGoddess at April 27, 2005 11:50 AMHe was absolutely adorkable in the postgame.
Did anyone hear Dr. Morneau on the radio? Grrroww!! I think the good Dr. should become a regular co-spokesman for those types of things with Lew.
Posted by: HooliganKat at April 27, 2005 12:28 PMDamn! I missed the post-game interviews. Would anybody be so kind as to give a brief summary of what Lew said?
Posted by: Pepper at April 27, 2005 12:39 PMit gives me shivers when my boyfriend Yo Joe! (A Real MN Hero) saves the day yet again. *sigh*
Posted by: kafumbly at April 27, 2005 02:08 PMMy wife's "Johan Santana is my boyfriend" shirt arrived today, and it's backwards! It's supposed to have the BF message on the front and the Batgirl logo on the back. I know it's not BG's fault -- the product page clearly says the logo should be on the back -- but has this happened to anyone else?
Dear Mr. Adam,
That is terrible. Cafe Press should right the wrong instantly. Please let me know if you have any problems.
Sincerely,
BG
I just got an e-mail back from them. Not only will they send a correct one (and in a new size, if need be; my wife's not home to try it on yet, but the XL Junior Ringer does seem a little big), but they're letting us keep the wrong one. ...Which I suppose makes sense, as what else are they going to do with it?
So, excellent customer service on CP's part.
