B.O.D.

Shannon Stewart has, very quietly, been getting a hit in every game of the season so far, but when he came up to the plate in the ninth tonight, there was nothing quiet about the situation at all. There were two on for Stewie, thanks to a lead-off single by Lew followed by a walk by Little Nicky Punto, but Troy "Gasp!" Percival was on the mound and the Twins can't score against Troy Percival unless, of course, they break somebody's wrist. But tonight in a game that would have been a demoralizing loss (at least for Batgirl), Shannon Stewart looked into the squinting eyes of Troy Percival and said, "I am not afraid of you." And indeed, he was not—he launched a beautiful double into center field scoring Ford and earning him his first 2005 Boyfriend of the Day. Small consolation, perhaps, after a postgame celebration in which he was humped by Michael Redmond, but we do what we can.

My congratulations to Stewart and his bat!

I was afraid Big, Dumb & Ugly might have tried to eat Little Nicky.

Oh how I love Twins baseball.

It's back.

Hate to brag (actually, that's not really true), but I'd like to point out that just as I predicted (but earlier than I expected), Cleveland and Detroit are duking it out...for third. Surprisingly, KC is giving them a run for their money.

Twink,

And that's exactly what a team like the Royals needs to get through the long, tough season.

Hope.

Woooah...It's way too early to count ANYONE out at this point. That's why DYoung is so hilarious - to try to predict the division 158 games out from the playoffs is a joke. I'd prefer to treat everyone as contenders at this point, whoop on them for a half season, then start the trash talking.

side note: since I'm pretty much forced to watch Rockies baseball here in Denver-ish, and the Rockettes have now acquired both Dustan Mohr and Michael 'Recycler' Restovich, I have to ask: anyone else laying around that the Twins don't need?

Dearest Mr. D,

I think we might have an extra catcher or two.
Is Resto playing up there?

Curiously,
BG

So far Resto is 2-for-6 with an RBI in 3 games for the Rox. Last night he started against AZ pitcher Brad Halsey and had a hit in 3 AB's, getting pulled late for pinch-hitter Brad Hawpe. It looks like he is in a strict platoon with Hawpe for now.

I think I need to request a co-BOD. Jason Bartlett looked really great out there, he didn't have the panicked look in his eye and he got his first homer.

I do think Stewie was fabulous and deserves it.

" Small consolation, perhaps, after a postgame celebration in which he was humped by Michael Redmond, but we do what we can. "

Michael Redmond, of the naked batting practice Redmonds? That was a visual I did not need this morning...

I think I might be developing a crush on young Jason Bartlett. I might work on building a solid friendship this season and see if I can't promote him to full-fledged boyfriend next year when we send Rivas packing.
