But What Did Resto Say?

From the Strib:

After Thursday's game, injured infielder Nick Punto proposed to his girlfriend, Natalie Bricker, in a suite of a downtown Minneapolis hotel. Bricker accepted, and Punto was beaming through the clubhouse Friday.

It was much different a day before, as a nervous Punto practiced his speech on outfielder Michael Restovich.

After Punto finishes practicing his speech on Resto...

Punto: So... what do you think?

Resto: I like it. Everything except "Will you be my utility infielder?"

Punto: No good?

Resto: Uh, no.

... But did Restovich say "Yes"?

Maybe Nicky was getting too nervous and preparing Resto to be his pinch runner.

This is one of the many things I love about this team.

Minty took advice from Terry Mulholland during the dark days before his trade. Lohse has a heart-to-heart with Pat Borders, and it turns his game around. Now, Little Nicky practices his proposal on Michael Restovich.

These guys lean on each other in their times of need. The older guys are always there for the younger ones.

It's kinda like the Waltons, only with better butts.

Dearest Ms. Goddess,

That was extremely well said.

Love,

Oh, God. A Walton's Christmas with the Twins. Olivia Walton tries to hide her feelings for Newmie. Mary Ellen has a secret salve for Joe Mauer's knee. John-Boy decides that he needs to go to Venezuela and bring the next Johan Santana back to Walton's Mountain for the big playoff game against Rockfish. And Grampa Walton finds he no longer can hide his affection for Little Nicky Punto and goes to Michael Restovich for advice. I can't wait.
