Santana/Nathan '04 Rally!

It looks like Sunday will be Johan's last trip to the Dome, so let's give him a farewell, Batgirl-style. All of Team Batgirl will be there in their Victory '04 shirts, will you? Come to section 141, lower admission GA. (Note: it's Bobblehead day, you may want to get tickets early.)

One of the great things about this season has been the frequency with which Santana has pitched on Sunday afternoons, allowing absentee voters to listen to the game - I mean, rally - via MLB Gameday Audio.

My Santana/Nathan merch arrives on Saturday. Unfortunately, it arrives 5000 miles away from Minnesota. But I will be there in spirit, and with Mr. arrScott, will listen to the game on MLB.com -- only $9 through the rest of the season, including the World Series. Make a lot of noise, you BatLings. It's a long way to Switzerland. Go TWINs.

"It looks like Sunday will be Johan's last trip to the Dome"

Ahem!

"It looks like Sunday will be Johan's last trip to the Dome until Sits Down the many Bitches of the MFY, Red Sox and Cardinals" is what I think you meant to say, no?

Posted by: ludekes at September 15, 2004 03:40 AM

er, "...until [he] Sits..."

Or, the way he's been pitching, maybe it should be He.

Posted by: ludekes at September 15, 2004 03:41 AM

Alas, I hef no Batgear. Nary a shirt or sticker hef I. But in attendance the D shall be.

Posted by: Daniels at September 15, 2004 04:05 AM

Save me a seat someone! Do to other commitments I won't be there til close to one (but will pre-purchase a tic)but be there I will!
I can't wait!

Posted by: Soccerfan at September 15, 2004 09:09 AM

I'm so there.

If my Batgear arrives on schedule on Friday, I'll be in it.

If it doesn't, I'll be gear-less, but I'll be there anyway.

Whoa. Just caught the photo. NICE job arrScott!!!

The superchick duo will be there as well, as I believe my sassy crime-fighting friend has already stated.

Oh, and arrScott... nice job on that photo. I didn't even notice the hat until just now...

Posted by: TwinsGoddess at September 15, 2004 09:41 AM

TG and She-Ra, thanks. I mentioned in an earlier comment that I think the Twins should give away hats that say CY instead of TC; if Johan wins the Cy Young award I hope the Twins and Dairy Queen will make a CY cap one of their two cap days in 2005. I will, and I'm not joking here, FLY TO MINNESOTA and buy really expensive seats to attend on Dairy Queen Cap Night if they're giving away CY hats.

In the meantime, look for me on Sunday in section 830, just up the aisle from Anita in Switzerland.

As it happens, I work at the DQ headquarters.

I'll pass your suggestion on to the powers that be...

TwinsGoddes -
free Dilly Bars to all the attend the rally ?!?! ;-)

Only aksing since it's kids day and I assume most of us would not qualify for the free Edys that they hand out?!??

Much Love & Peace

On KARE-TV last night at 10, the Twins employee who was handing out the "other" buttons explained how it's cool to push Santana for the "See Why" Young award. Then she had to be told it was "Cy Young."

For you, WW, I will see what I can do.

Posted by: TwinsGoddess at September 15, 2004 10:59 AM

Commish that is too funny! I guess that means the bandwagon is starting to be filled! ALL ABOARD!

TwinsGoddess -
Regardless of the outcome - you are now an honorary Amazon!!
Though I think your Goddess trumps my Amazon-ness

I'm not sure if anyone else is counting but we could actually clinch the Division title on Sunday if:

We sweep the Sox in this series
We sweep Baltimore
& Detroit wins 1 of 3 at Chi this weekend.

Of course if Detroit wins more than 1 we have more options BUT the fact remains that Sunday could be a big day at the dome (unless we clinch on Sat)!

I notice ludekis is assuming a rematch of the 1987 Series. I, too, wish to see what Santana can do against Pujols, Edmonds, etc.

I must confess however, that that is the one and only playoff scenario in which I will be rooting against the Twins. Gotta go with your first love, you know ...

Redbird-Your allegiance is understandable, just don't expect the birds to get off sass-free if we meet.

I just found the site, but, being the reserved midwesterner, haven't posted yet. At any rate, I'm hoping to make Sunday's game...hope to meet some of you guys who've been keeping me laughing and enjoying the Twins even more for the last month! :)

Speaking of a Cardinals/Twins WS rematch. A friend of mine made a sign for the 87' Series which he was walking around the concourse with that read "Cardinals have little peckers." It got quite a few laughs before it was confiscated by the powers that be. Sorry if that story is too naughty for this website, and no offense to Redbird. Just a "little" humor.

>>free Dilly Bars to all the attend the rally

A friendly tip from me to you. If you go to the headquarters, in the lobby, there's a freezer with free DQ treats. I was there to meet someone from another company but no one minded me snagging a dilly bar on the way out. Very nice of them.

I am still recovering from my 5 seconds of fame and will not be able to make this rally,,,,BUT!!!!!! Oh baby ,,we gonna RALLY during playoffs/WS,,,Iwazzabadboy

Posted by: Iwazzabadboy at September 15, 2004 06:51 PM

As of now, I won't be there. I'm scheduled to work. However, I am trying to work my way out of that problem. As much fun as I had at the first rally, I'm hoping this one will have a few more, um, people.
However, I am bringing my boyfriend, who is a curse to the Twins. (Supernatural lost 2-0 to the Tigers when we went. I got a free book though.) So all our good karma must cancel out his evil Giants-loving ways...

Schilling endorses Supernatural for the Cy, barring disaster:

Thought you all might enjoy that. Keep up the great work, Bat-Girl!

Posted by: Mike at September 15, 2004 09:59 PM

So, Schilling is gehrig38, I take it?

Posted by: frightwig at September 15, 2004 10:27 PM

Donnalove - My offer still stands to glower menacingly at anyone who won't work for you on Sunday. Just say the word and I'll start practicing my scowl.

Posted by: Skorch at September 15, 2004 10:36 PM

Yep, Schill is gehrig38, indeed. He posts on that site often.

Posted by: Mike at September 15, 2004 11:56 PM

Has Schilling ever explained why he took the name of a Yankee icon as his handle on a Red Sox fan forum?
