The RD Report, No. 4

RD is of good cheer, knowing that the trail of zeroes was extended Friday night by CySantana, JC and Boo-Boo Nathan. How appropriate was it that Cy 'n' Boo-Boo started and closed on the night of our ticket's first rally?

RD likes our versatility -- bringing the runs home Thursday night on a ground out and a wild pitch and Friday on the back-to-back boomers by T-Hunter and Justin Credible. RD does think, however, that Herb Carneal got a bit confused and refered to Credible as "Junstan Mohr" in the afterglow of his accomplishment.

RD has a driving tip. If you are stopped at a red light and CySantana strikes out an opponent and your window is open and there are women within earshot, it is NOT a good idea to yell, "SIT DOWN, BITCH!" to celebrate. RD tells no more.

RD has some inside information. He understands that some Nathan/Santana stuff will be handed out on Monday from 11 a.m. until noon at the Minnesota Public Radio booth at the State Fair as part of the Midday show. Do not ask RD how he knows these things.

Now, RD needs to hear from you -- about anything on your mind and ABOUT THE RALLY.

It was nice to see a few campaign supporters tonight. Where can I mail a picture of the group photo? Steve from St.Cloud

Dearest Steve,

Batgirl is so excited. If you mail a picture to mr. diablo (click on his name) Batgirl is sure he will take care of things.

It is all Goober's fault that CyS didn't get the no/no, as he telegraphed Batgirl in the fifth to say that he (supernatural/ not goober) had not yet allowed a baserunner. Goober thought for sure that we were outside the curse transmitting zone, but alas, we were not.

Team Batgirl has moved on to Saskatchewan, where they are currently logging into the internet from the top of a pack-moose. The moose also blames Goober.

Love,
Batgirl

Santana striking out three in the 7th has been my highlight of the year so far. That was also my first correct call of the year, as well. You see how pumped Santana was after getting Nunez, and you just knew that Berroa had absolutely no chance.

I was a little upset that Gardy pulled Santana after the 7th. After all, a 1 hit shutout with 15 K's would have been nice. But I understand the need to conserve Santana's arm, seeing as the campaign season is in full swing and he will be shaking a lot of hands in the next couple of weeks. I also understand he's gonna need a strong arm to carry around the hardware he's going to be awarded when once the campaign season is over.

It's to the point where anytime Santana takes the mound you know you're gonna get something great. I think this feeling has officially been passed from Pedro Martinez starts to Johan Santana starts, and I'm loving it.

Steve - Thanks for stopping by earlier, it was a pleasure to meet you. When you wake up, could you e-mail me a copy of the picture as well? My address is below.

Anyhow, my recap has been submitted for delousing and posting by the powers that be. Bedtime.

I think Herb has earned the right to have a few slip ups. He's been doing a great job for 40-50 years.

InWithTheNew,

Not disagreeing with you on Herb's years of service, but I would have assumed you to be in the "replace Herb-with-Clay Matvick" camp.

Posted by: RonDavis at September 4, 2004 02:36 PM

I can appreciate that.

Posted by: InWithTheNew at September 4, 2004 02:39 PM

Good zinger, RD.

Posted by: Brundlefly at September 4, 2004 02:40 PM

Maybe we can replace Herb with Dan "Let me ask you this", "Most definitely" Gladden.

Posted by: Brundlefly at September 4, 2004 02:45 PM

This group probably wants Garrison Keillor and Al Franken.

Posted by: InWithTheNew at September 4, 2004 02:54 PM

Though Al Franken and I graduated from the same high school, I find him too negative. Imagine how gloomy we would be with an Al Franken-Sid Hartman broadcast team.

RD,
Got any stats on this Matvick guy?

Posted by: InWithTheNew at September 4, 2004 05:56 PM

Clay Matvick? All I know is that he didn't graduate from Blake. ;0)

Posted by: RonDavis at September 4, 2004 05:59 PM

Can he play third base?
