The Return of Devil Dog

A couple months ago, when the Bitch Sox (remember them?) came to town and swept the Twins, Batgirl's esteemed colleague, the witty and talented Brad Zellar posted the following picture and headline right after the series:

Don't Taunt Me Devil Dog, I Can Hardly Bear to Watch Either

It is Batgirl's favorite blog entry of the year, and she thought it seemed apt right at this moment.

Never mind, it's working now.

Ha! I thought he was talking about LeCroy!

Seriously though, his latest post is basically imploring kids to not grow up to be lonely geeks. Or maybe my satire meter is busted :/

"Above all you need to talk to your kids about the dangers of baseball statistics, and the ways in which they have steered so many youngsters down a wayward path to useless, socially awkward lives. Show them photographs of some of their Sabermetric heroes and ask them if these look like happy people. And, please, make sure to point out the proliferation of sites just like this one, and ask them to look for a single shred of evidence that the people behind them are receiving anything in the way of compensation for their efforts.

I apologize for the damage I've done, but I'm just one man. I'd give anything, including the children I never had because I was too busy wasting my life on baseball, to somehow put the monster back in the box, but it's too late for that. It's much too late for that; the monster has already rewired too many brains."

Mr. Zellar has been so low key this year: I think he might be on the run from that devil dog...or otherwise in hiding, or posibly chewed to bits.

Hey Brad! How's the Yard?!
