The Best Mother's Day Present Ever

As regular readers know, BatMom, too, has a boyfriend, and that boyfriend is Dan Gladden. Something about spunk, golden tresses, and the close fit of his trousers. Goober, perhaps because he was so well-rested after skipping the night games of this road trip, came up with The Best Mother's Day Gift Ever, a signed Dazzle ball. BatMom certainly slept with it in her arms last night.

"Something about spunk, golden tresses, and the fit of his trousers."

Ah, sounds like BatMom watches the Twins with the same eye as MrsDavis, for whom a long-forgotten infielder named Scotty Leius was her boyfriend. Something about the pin-striped pants, if I remember correctly, and having seats behind third-base when the right-handed Leius came to the plate.

Any remarks overheard by BatGirl about the fit of Mr. Gladden's trousers were quoted out of context.

Love,
BatMom

Dear BatMom,

Uh-HUH.

Your friend, Ron Davis

Uh-huh, a classic non-denial denial there from BatMom. Out of context - but not necessarily inaccurate. That's a good sign we're getting warm - we're somewhere in the vicinity of the truth....

Is BatMom a lefty? Perhaps Batgirl is, too? Speculation runs rampant in the Batgirl audience.

Dear Mr. Hart,

Alas, Batgirl is no southpaw, but BatMom certainly is, and is not that much older than Terry Mulholland.

Hopefully,
Batgirl

MamaLove also has a boyfriend, in Gary Gaetti. After he left the Twins, he returned to play against them, and during their warmups in the outfield, MamaLove screamed "WE STILL LOVE YOU, GARY!!!!" He yelled back. She was giddy.

From the Baseball Blog Almanac:

BATGIRL
Age: Forever Young
Resides: Minnesota, USA
Bats: Right
Throws: Right
Votes: Left

Blogography: A writer with a thing for catchers, Sandy Alomar Jr. and Miguel Olivo of the hated Bitch Sox excluded, Batgirl holds court with a talented cast of fellow word people and Lego characters. Largely credited with the invention and development of Legovision, Batgirl is equally adept at popping references to figures both literary and cultural into her work.

Not to be confused with: Batman, the superheroine Batgirl, Bar-girl, Earl Battey, William Barclay (Bat) Masterson, Jesse (The Batty) Ventura.
