Ford Goes Long: A Reenactment

In the 4th inning, with the score Tigers 2, Twins 0, and the Johanninator pitching somewhat sketchily, we were in sore need of runs, but they seemed in short supply off lefty Mike Maroth. Good thing we have Lew Ford on our team, who kindly hit a three run homer to give the Twins the lead, a lead which they never relinquished.

Now, since the Twins aren’t on TV, nobody saw the homerun, including Batgirl. Nonethless, as another service to beloved readers, Batgirl generously presents a reenactment. Any variances between this reenactment and what actually occurred on the field are not Batgirl’s responsibility.

So, there are no outs in the 4th. Doug Mientkiewicz has singled to lead off the inning, and Jose Offerman walked. So Doug (the white spaceman with the red helmet) is on second and Jose (the yellow spaceman) is on first.

Then, Ford steps into the batter's box.

I had to look twice at this article to get it but I have to say well done. I had to show some other guys and they all agreed that it was hilarious and an excellante use of humor to criticize the tv situation. Very Creative.

Lew runs awfully well for someone with giant blocks for feet. This is even better than the real thing!

As a fan of great sports photography, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the heart-pounding actions shots! Batgirl, you make my heart sing.

Who needs VS1 when we have Batgirl and Lego Vision?

Posted by: mmmarkiep at April 23, 2004 08:03 AM

Is Legovision covering the Timberwolves-Nuggets game Saturday night? I don't know if I can stay up that late. And a less pressing question: Why does Batgirl own Legos? Circle me, Batgirl!

I love LegoVision!!

One suggestion--give the shield to the umpire, not the pitcher! Umps used to have those external chest protectors...now they use the internal ones that aren't so visible. But still...the hand-held shield resembles a chest protector.

Again, my offer to loan additional Lego characters stands, Batgirl!

Too funny. The Circle Me Bert sign was a touch of creative genius.

I particularly like that they appear to be playing baseball with a lego-sized roll of toilet paper. You rule Batgirl! Long live Legovision!

That was awesome. I hope Lego Lew Ford keeps up the playing time despite Hunter coming off the DL.

You've got an excellent blog here- Win Twins!

el diablo is impressed with the special effects of Legovision. Especially the flying ball. Go Lewego!

el diablo would, if he was in Mpls., offer to actually make video Lego-re-enactments. A Lego Victory One network would rock. ROCK.

(Incidentally, for more other Lego-themed videos, check out www.evanmather.com Click out the Star Wars shorts--Legos all around!)

One can't help but wonder if Bat-Girl was inspired by Tiny Ninja Theater. (http://www.tinyninjatheater.com)

Bravo Batgirl! It's scary though; your baseball field actually looks BETTER than the Metrodome. Maybe they should have put Legos down for the playing field. Much more hamstring friendly.

Our house agrees: we think you should market Legovision to one of the local networks, or start your own cable station, featuring Lego highlights of all the games. We would gladly pay $2.20/month for this premium service on our cable.

Speaking of cable, what's with the new "Minnesota Sports Tonight" on Foxsports? They put a bunch of smarmy people sitting in LA in front of the camera, with a tacky picture of the Mpls. skyline in the background, and have them try to act like "one of us?" C'mon. Last night, Inga Hammond was doing the show--Inga Hammond? She hasn't set foot in Minnesota since Scott Ericson was single and a halfway decent pitcher.

Batgirl Legovision is oh so much better than anything else.
